Chapter 2886: Have You Ever Loved
Li Mingchen’s mother quickly grabbed a napkin to wipe his mouth.
Li Mingchen laughed and asked, "Mom, why are you asking like that?"
"I’ve noticed she hasn’t had a boyfriend for so many years and isn’t very keen on getting married now. So I’ve suspected she might not like men."
After his mother said this, Li Mingchen also felt it made sense.
He restrained his smile and said seriously, "Mom, if that’s the case, what should we do?"
"Wait, if she likes women, why is she with Xiao Lang?"
"Could they be like Li Qian, just putting on a show for us?" Li Mingchen’s mother voiced her worry.
Li Mingchen thought about it, then said, "Mom, don’t worry yet. I’ll look into it and see what my sister and Xiao Lang did during their trip."
Li Mingchen’s mother nodded, "Good, hurry up and find out soon."
"Okay."
Li Mingchen’s mother returned home with a nervous heart.
Li Mingxi had no clue her mother would suspect her in this way.
...
Li Mingxi hadn’t eaten all day.
When she woke up again, it was already morning.
Her stomach was a bit hungry, but she had no appetite and felt utterly lacking in energy.
Yet, Li Mingchen’s mother still came in to pull her up and take her downstairs to eat.
Li Mingchen’s mother instructed the kitchen to make easily digestible porridge for her. Li Mingxi drank a bowl and felt full.
"Mom, I’m going upstairs to rest." Li Mingxi said, putting down the bowl.
Li Mingchen’s mother, sitting on the sofa, patted the space beside her, "You’ve slept all day, don’t rush upstairs. Come over, let’s chat."

Li Mingxi thought her mother was going to talk about her personal matters again.
She reluctantly went over and sat down.
Li Mingchen’s mother glanced at her and tentatively asked, "If you consider me your mom, give me an honest answer. Have you ever loved anyone?"
Li Mingxi was slightly stunned.
"Mom, why are you asking me this?"
"I just want to know, have you ever loved?"
Li Mingxi laughed, "Mom, do you think I’m heartbroken and that’s why I don’t want to get married?"
Upon hearing this, Li Mingchen’s mother became even more worried that Li Mingxi might like women.
"Never mind what I think, have you ever loved someone?"
Li Mingxi hesitated for a moment and nodded, "Yes, I have."
"Is that person Xiao Lang?" Li Mingchen’s mother probed further.
Li Mingxi was immediately unable to respond. That person was indeed Xiao Lang, the only one she had ever truly loved.
Observing her reaction, Li Mingchen’s mother knew she was right.
Moreover, it seemed Li Mingxi liked Xiao Lang.
As long as she liked a man, it was relieving.
"Mingxi, when you get married in the future, you must have a child, understand?" Li Mingchen’s mother continued.
"Have a child?" Li Mingxi was slightly taken aback, as she had never considered this issue.
"Yes, you must have a child."
"Mom, I’m not even married yet. Don’t think so far ahead..." Li Mingxi smiled lightly. She got up and said, "I’m tired, we’ll talk about this another time."
After saying this, she didn’t wait for Li Mingchen’s mother to respond and headed upstairs.
Li Mingxi returned to her bedroom, thinking she wouldn’t have a child.
She didn’t even have the right to love, how could she dare to want a child?
Thinking of these things made Li Mingxi even more sad.
But she wasn’t someone prone to sadness. Despite feeling bad, she could still quickly cheer herself up.
After resting for another night, Li Mingxi knew she couldn’t continue being despondent.
Despondency or work, both pass, but work at least earns money.
Early on, Li Mingxi got up.
