Chapter 2869: Cold War
Xiao Lang had been rejected and was in a very bad mood!
"Do you want to go back that badly?!" he asked angrily.
Li Mingxi looked at him calmly. "It’s time. We should go back."
"You’re going back to see your Li Qian, aren’t you?!" Xiao Lang got more worked up as he spoke. "Is it really impossible not to go back?!"
Li Mingxi didn’t want to argue with him.
"Xiao Lang, we agreed on this..."
"Yeah, everything was agreed on! I know, you don’t need to remind me again!"
Xiao Lang stood up in a rage and strode toward the bathroom.
Li Mingxi let out a sigh and generously chose not to hold it against him.
Xiao Lang came out after washing up, still looking very upset. He didn’t even spare her a glance.
Li Mingxi didn’t bother stooping to his level. She went in to wash up, and when she came out, she saw Xiao Lang texting.
He was already fully dressed, curled up on the sofa with his phone in his hand.
His face was dark, gloomy clouds gathered.
Li Mingxi changed her clothes, finished her makeup, and only after she’d straightened everything out did she speak to him. "Time to go."
"..."
Xiao Lang ignored her.
Li Mingxi said evenly, "If you don’t want to go, I can head back first."
Xiao Lang put away his phone, stood up, picked up his own luggage, then stepped forward, grabbed her suitcase as well, and dragged both of them out.
Li Mingxi followed behind him and went downstairs with him.
After checking out, they had a bit of breakfast in the lobby downstairs, then got in a car and rushed to the airport.
Xiao Lang barely said a word the whole time. Li Mingxi put on her sunglasses and just watched the scenery along the way.
By the time they reached the airport, it was almost time.
They hurried onto the plane. As the plane took off, they left that city behind, ending their brief trip for two.
Last night Xiao Lang hadn’t slept well, so he fell asleep on the plane.
Li Mingxi quietly read a magazine; the two of them hardly spoke.
...
Just as the plane was about to arrive, Xiao Lang woke up.
He took off his sunglasses and rubbed his sleepy eyes.
"Are we almost there?" he asked Li Mingxi in a hoarse voice, his tone perfectly natural, as if the two of them hadn’t been giving each other the cold shoulder at all.
Li Mingxi said softly, "Almost."
Xiao Lang rested his head on her shoulder, looking completely dazed from sleep.
He stared at the magazine in her hands and asked curiously, "What are you reading?"
"Nothing much, just flipping through."
Xiao Lang straightened up a bit and cleared his throat. "Got any water? I want some water."
Just then a flight attendant walked past. Hearing him, she said warmly and proactively, "Sir, you’d like some water? I’ll get you some."
Xiao Lang smiled faintly. "Thank you."
"You’re welcome." The flight attendant gave a slight smile.
In a moment, the flight attendant brought over a cup of purified water and handed it to him. "Sir, your water."
"Thank you."
"You’re welcome. Sir, do you need anything else?"
Xiao Lang shook his head. "That’s all."
But the flight attendant still stood there without leaving. Xiao Lang quickly finished the water and handed her the cup. She took the empty cup and left, a little reluctant.

Xiao Lang rested his head on Li Mingxi again. "Nothing like some water to make you feel better."
Li Mingxi said coolly, "It’s because it was water from a pretty girl, that’s why it felt good, right?"
"Jealous?"
"As if?"
Xiao Lang chuckled, lifted his head, and gave her cheek a quick kiss. "I like it when you get jealous because of me."
Li Mingxi snorted coldly, full of disdain.
And just like that, the cold war between them blew over as lightly as a passing cloud.
