Chapter 243: Proposal 6
He Hanshi and the others took another car.
Soon, the tour car started moving.
As Shi Lan’s decorated tour car began to move, the light, fluffy red tail attached to it swayed back and forth. It looked like a flirtatious tail, tempting one to reach out and grab it. Shi Lan felt a slight urge to do just that, but Yan Huoshui tightened his grip on her hand. His voice was low and husky, sounding a little aggrieved. "Lanlan, I have one too."
As he spoke, a tail emerged and gently rested on Shi Lan’s hand.
At the sight of it, Shi Lan lost all interest in the ’fake’ one outside.
She grasped it contentedly, playing with it as her eyes took in the scenery of the recreation area. At first glance, it didn’t seem all that different. It covered a large area with many forests, the park’s infrastructure had a high-tech feel, and some structures were even built in mid-air.
The park had clearly been meticulously decorated by Yan Huoshui. Everywhere you looked, you could see drifting red tails, as vibrant and eye-catching as his red hair.
Along both sides of the path the tour car traveled, there were red, plush-decorated platforms. Adorning these platforms were clusters of vibrant red roses. From a distance, they looked like blazing balls of fire, standing out uniquely amidst the greenery.
Just then, Shi Lan saw a few monkeys jumping around in the park. She watched with curious eyes, discovering that there weren’t just monkeys, but also parrots, swans, flamingos, and other animals.
The entire animal park seemed to be open-concept, but Shi Lan noticed transparent light screens blocking off the edges, which didn’t obstruct the visitors’ view while also preventing the animals from escaping.
But perhaps because of the company she kept, Shi Lan wasn’t all that interested in the animals outside anymore. If she really wanted to play with one, she might as well find Jiang Xia.
He could be cute and perform animal tricks, and he did it all willingly.
’Oh, and if I want to play with a tail, there’s Yan Huoshui.’
’A Nine-tailed Fox, no less. An animal that doesn’t even exist in reality.’
Lost in blissful enjoyment, Shi Lan stroked the tip of the tail in her lap again. A flush crept into the corners of Yan Huoshui’s eyes. He tightened his grip on her hand, their fingers intertwined. His eyelashes trembled slightly, and his red lips curved up unconsciously.
’Lanlan’s touch feels so good.’
’Too bad we’re still outside. It’s not convenient to let all my tails out.’
Accompanied by the scent of roses and the woodsy smell of the forest, the two arrived at the final proposal destination.
Shi Lan immediately spotted the heart-shaped hot air balloon up ahead. The balloon was magenta, with words written on it: Shi Lan & Yan Huoshui, Never Apart.
’Of all of them, this is the first time I’ve seen one include his own name in the proposal.’
Yan Huoshui’s red lips curved up. Seeing their names placed side by side, a deep smile filled his red eyes.
"Lanlan, let’s go up. We can go see the Sky Garden from here."
"Sky Garden?"
Shi Lan was immediately filled with curiosity and interest. She eagerly boarded the hot air balloon with Yan Huoshui.
The hot air balloon had a passenger limit, so He Hanshi and the others were once again left far behind. Besides, Yan Huoshui, having anticipated them, had long since instructed the park staff to put away all the other hot air balloons, leaving only the one he had arranged.
Mu Tangfeng narrowed his eyes and unfurled his beautiful wings. "It’s still better to be able to fly."
With that, he followed them to join in on the fun, leaving He Hanshi and the other two behind.
Jiang Xia watched him leave with envy, then comforted himself, "They’re just wings. What’s so special about that? If I really wanted to go up, I could just take a Hovercar."
Of course, the park had rules prohibiting Hovercars from flying inside to prevent collisions with the protective facilities, so he could only dismiss the thought.
In the air, the hot air balloon slowly ascended.
In an instant, the entire park filled Shi Lan’s view.
A grand feeling, like looking down on all the mountains from a great height, washed over her. The scenery before her was breathtakingly beautiful.
Just then, rows of drones appeared in the air. Trailing clouds of colorful smoke, they flew back and forth in an orderly fashion before finally forming several large words.
"Shi Lan, I love you."
As she silently read the words to herself, Yan Huoshui whispered the same phrase in her ear.
Holding a bouquet of flowers, he knelt on one knee. A hundred meters in the air, his ruby-like eyes gazed up at her with deep, focused affection. "Lanlan, will you be my wife?"
"I will spend my entire life respecting you, loving you, cherishing you, and protecting you. I will only ever love you."
As he spoke, he guided her hand to his chest. Through the thick fabric of his suit, Shi Lan could clearly feel his heart thundering in his chest. The beats were a little erratic and very heavy, and it seemed to make her own heart flutter in response.
His red lips curved as he took out a ruby dagger. His narrow, fox-like eyes grew deep. "Lanlan, if I ever betray you one day, use this dagger to dig out my heart."
"Because it will have become filthy and shouldn’t exist to offend your sight."

He muttered to himself, his eyes unknowingly taking on a scarlet glow. The curve of his lips suggested he was quite excited and very pleased with his own suggestions.

The slap seemed to instantly clear his eyes. As if not expecting this reaction, his refocused gaze stared at her, dazed.
Shi Lan planted her hands on her hips and glared. "Are you going to keep talking? All this talk about dying."
"Lanlan..."
Yan Huoshui called her name again, and Shi Lan smacked him on the head again.
"Lanlan."
He kept calling her name, and Shi Lan kept smacking him.
For some reason, even though most guys hated being smacked on the head, Yan Huoshui seemed to be enjoying it. Every time she smacked him, he would call out her name, the smile on his lips growing wider with each repetition.
Shi Lan was helpless. She was finally starting to glimpse a hint of his twisted nature.
"You’re so crazy."
She sighed and lowered her hand.
A hint of regret flickered in Yan Huoshui’s eyes, but his red lips curled up in pleasure, revealing his white teeth. A dangerous glint flashed in his eyes. "You’re only just realizing that now, Lanlan? Well, there are no returns at this point."
Shi Lan narrowed her eyes, but she didn’t try to scare him by saying she’d reject his proposal. That wouldn’t work on someone so twisted.
She took the ring and let him put it on her finger. Then, she took a ruby diamond ring from her Space Chain, pretended to be fierce as she grabbed his hand, and slid it snugly onto his finger. "See this? This is my lock. You’re my person now, so you can’t keep talking about dying."
"Okay. Lanlan is my wife. My life is Lanlan’s. I’ll do whatever Lanlan commands."
Yan Huoshui’s mouth split into a grin. He gently caressed the diamond ring on his hand, then pulled Shi Lan’s hand toward him again. His fingers climbed up hers, slipping between them to hold her hand tightly.
Shi Lan knew that if Yan Huoshui really was twisted, then this diamond ring was also a shackle she had placed on herself.
But it wasn’t a big deal. From the moment she had accepted him in her heart, she was already prepared for it.
