Chapter 916 - 447: The Dragon God Doesn’t Understand Mortals (2)
"In the world’s earliest ages, the reason we took on that kind of form was actually to communicate with the Primordial Beings." Inanna explained.
Communicate with the Eldest Son of God? Indeed, they really were closer to so‑called "mortals."
"Aren’t they translucent crystals?"
"Only a few are like that, Zosia for instance—but later, Zosia took on flesh as well."
"I see. They couldn’t have been trying to..."
Li Ang curled his lip; Inanna, though she did not understand mortal desire, could at this moment see what Li Ang was thinking.
"They began making themselves closer to mortals, didn’t they?"
"Perhaps."
Li Ang felt that, aside from their inhuman appearance, Demons were actually the high‑Format beings most similar to mortals. And the Primordial Beings who were entwined with them in countless ways probably couldn’t escape that either. Especially Zosia’s attitude of looking down on all living things—that truly didn’t resemble the indifferent equality of the Divine; it was the posture of someone who believed themselves inherently noble, which was the most common attitude among mortals.
In the Ancient Era, though Ancient Elves, fairies, Earth Spirits, and Dragon men certainly possessed more Extraordinary Power, they could still be regarded as mortals with desires—after all, the descendants of most of them flourished without end.
"I think you’re probably right. Even though, Li Ang, you’ve never seen the true Ancient Era."
Inanna seemed quite delighted; she took Li Ang’s hand and tugged it toward her chest.
Yet she had apparently never struck such a pose before; she was merely copying mortals she had seen earlier, so the placement was a bit off.
The pressure made that strange expression resurface on her face.
"So, you still haven’t told me—this feeling is..." The Dragon Maiden’s voice quivered slightly.
"Swoosh!"
A loud, jarring sound burst out; Li Ang saw that it came from Diao tugging at a nearby fruit‑laden sapling, deliberately shaking the branches.
The Young Girl’s face was stiff; it looked like something in her heart had snagged her, so she couldn’t even form an expression.
Seeing Li Ang look over, she turned her face away. Her skin was clearly the color of milk chocolate, yet it still couldn’t hide the flush spreading in a great swath from her neck up to the tips of her ears.
In a flash she transformed into a Female Deer; in her animal form, she didn’t look much different from her usual self.
But even in her deer form she was still uneasy, scraping her hooves through the Fluorescent Grass Mud on the ground, raising bursts of noise.
This was already a deliberate attempt to interrupt the conversation.
"Let me ask something else first. Since we’ve all personally witnessed Zosia turning into the Demon King, the information about Demons can be opened to me now, right?!"
Li Ang raised his voice, letting it carry through the noise Diao had stirred up and reach her.
Hearing this question, the Female Deer’s movements slowed.
Inanna gave Li Ang a soft nod, smiling; the feeling was like that of a friendly girl next door, someone with whom you were already deeply familiar, endlessly close—whatever you asked her, she would tell you.
This neighbor girl was still full of an unearthly, alien beauty.
"Actually, if you’d asked me earlier, I’d have told you too."
Would... would she?
Anyway, Akuya and Agni definitely wouldn’t say anything; the Star Flower Travel Corps had to fulfill certain conditions, be qualified to enter the Six Dragons Divine Realm’s Creation Library, before they could know.
Li Ang had never met Brigitte, Annette, or Thanatos, but that last Dark Dragon felt much more solemn, and would definitely not talk. As for the other two, they had only appeared briefly in the Illusion Realm—it was impossible to make out what kind of personalities they had.
As for Inanna... he really had never probed her on this front, because her reason for slaughtering her way to the Eternal Summer had always been extremely pure. So pure it was practically no different from an animal’s.
"The very first Demons were indeed Zosia and some of the Primordial Beings." Inanna said.
"Why did Divine Spirits turn into Demons?"
"I don’t know the specific reason either."
"Not even your Creation Library has it?"
Inanna said that although the Creation Library automatically gathered much knowledge and information from the advent of Creation onward, once Power reached a certain threshold—usually starting from Legendary Level mid tier—one could intentionally conceal some information, and then the Library would be unable to collect it.
Some of those pieces of uncollected information would be specially gathered by the Six Dragon Gods.
Talking as they went, the three Wanderers continued onward through the Land of Ten Thousand Spirits.
Though Diao still carried a certain awkward attitude, she nonetheless brought Li Ang the fruits borne by the plants of this wondrous place; their sweetness was enough to make his Spirituality tremble.
Ever since stepping into the Transcendent Realm, part of his senses felt as though they had vanished; Li Ang lost his concept of time’s passage, felt no real hunger, and whatever fatigue he had was mostly a burden on his Spirituality from what it had previously endured.
But after eating these fruits, he still felt a comfort throughout his whole body, as if he had been thoroughly washed clean.
However, the Female Deer did not bring any fruit to Inanna.
"The Primordial Beings deliberately hid the information related to Demonization?"
"I don’t think this part was done by them, but rather that the Creator himself does not permit Demons and things of the Crimson Stain to exist—just like excluding Demons from Nebis."
"What exactly are Demons? Why are they excluded by the world?"
"The Power of Demons can twist the world’s common rules. Their actions can easily bring about Destruction of the world’s stability, like a kind of Reverse Spiritual Casting Art."
There was quite a lot of information in that sentence; Li Ang first memorized what Inanna had said, then began chewing over the content.
Reverse Spiritual Casting Art... Right now, on his panel, Spiritual Forger had completely overwritten everything related to witch; his original Curse Art had been folded into the "Spirit Casting Art Derivatives" category, with the exception of trump cards like "Spiritual Activation," which had been placed under Spirit Casting Art but marked as "not fully completed."
