Chapter 871 - 423: Othella Terrified
"Uuuh, where’s the bathroom again?"
The blue-haired Beast eared Maiden drooped her round ears. She remembered that the captain of the Star Flower Travel Corps had told her where the bathroom was, but... is there really no other way to get there?
The bathroom entrance right now was kind of terrifying.
Ever since that big sister with the great figure, who looked like she was both from the Beast-Earkin and the Horned Race, came aboard, everyone seemed a lot more unhappy.
Even though they were united against outsiders, why did they start arguing again once they came back?
Othella hid behind the doorframe and peeked in secretly.
At the end of the corridor, Zoe and Dorothy were facing off, needles against points.
"If it weren’t for you always getting in the way back then, hogging the intimate time between me and Li Ang, would things have gotten to the point where anyone can butt in now?"
"How was I supposed to know they’d all turn out like this later? But you’re annoyed with me too, aren’t you? The nerve! Oh, read two books and you think you know everything? If you actually knew anything, would you have wasted that many chances?"
"What did you say?"
"The wild woman’s gonna throw hands again? You think I’m scared of you?"
Tangible Starlight Magic and strange Flower Vines slithered along the corridor; Othella shrank her shoulders back a little.
Uuuh, so scary...
Everyone had clearly been so cheerful and friendly before, and Captain Li Ang was really gentle too, so how did it end up like this?
Once it came to private relationships, the girls on the ship all seemed different again. C-could it be that every single person on the ship has to do this and that with the captain in the end...
Othella lowered her head deeply, ink-blue hair covering her burning-red face.
Uuuh, Mom, Dad, Anala, Mesa... did I board the wrong pirate ship?
Her body tensed up from nervousness and she started sweating again; the dust from yesterday made her body feel even stickier.
Othella took a step back, her half-Ghost body slipping through the door panel as she returned to her own room.
The Flame Cloak she wasn’t wearing was hanging by the bed. When she was in deep sleep, the extinguished cloak looked like a luxurious mantle sewn with Blazing Red Threads. Although Othella was used to draping it over herself, she had still left it in the room when she went to bathe.
After they left the Molten Mountain Star Soul, they were able to rely on Othella’s Light of the Star Soul to keep existing, but they were even weaker than before, spending most of their time in slumber.
She hadn’t expected that she herself would change as well.
During that long stretch of being half-Ghost, she had long since lost human metabolic functions, no longer needed to eat or wash, and external dust wouldn’t cling to her body.
But with the Star Soul Vitality gifted by Hedaya, not only did the sense of being alive return, all sorts of Attributes belonging to the living came back too, so she now needed to use the washroom as well.
By the time she came back to her senses, yesterday’s fierce battle had already left her face covered in dust, her body reeking of sulfur.
Amid a faint, somewhat bewildered unfamiliarity, Othella noticed a strange kind of delight. Back on Lupus Island, as life went on as usual, that smell had always been a constant presence.
But now she’d gotten the brand-new bedding and room all smelling like dust; she felt a little embarrassed. Plus she was sweaty and sticky, so she definitely had to give herself a good wash.
Wait, I can actually do this.
The Young Girl thought, since I can pass through walls and floors, I can just go straight past them to the bathroom.
Back then, after discovering she might be dead, Othella had been sad for a while, but once she adjusted, she started using her Ghost abilities to wander through the cracks of various ruins and wreckage for fun.
Later she’d stopped, simply because she’d gotten bored of it.
But now she had to really get her bearings right. After coming aboard the ship, she hadn’t dared to phase around at will, because next door were the rooms of the Star Flower Travel Corps members. Busting into someone else’s room was really impolite, and of course, she also... a-also feared barging in on their private matters...
And she was also afraid of phasing into the sewage pipes, so she had to be very precise with her aim.
Othella raised her hand to sight along it, estimating the general direction of the bathroom at the end of the corridor. Then she picked up the wooden basin holding her bath towel, closed her eyes, and turned incorporeal to float.
She hurried through the first room, cracking one eye open to peek. Mm, this was ALulu’s room next door; she wasn’t inside right now, so the direction was correct.
Going farther, she could already hear arguing from the second room. It should be somewhere near where Zoe and Dorothy were standing.
"Hmph, I’m in no rush anyway. I’ve already had a taste."
The Half Elf turned away with a sarcastic lilt, twisting the doorknob. Behind her, Zoe questioned her in a mix of shock and anger, but Dorothy had already opened the door and entered.
Th-that won’t do! I can’t let them see me in here!
Just as Dorothy stepped in with her foot, Othella was so frightened she rushed forward, darting through several rooms in a row.
The view before her suddenly opened up. She saw her own flushed face in the mirror ahead; beside it were body wash and various Water Dragon heads and sprayers that looked meant for rinsing. On the right was a spacious bathtub, into which bath herbs had already been poured. Foam covered the surface of the Water and a faint fragrance wafted out.
Wow, I’ve never used such a nice bathroom before.
Othella’s eyes widened. Back home, they definitely didn’t have good bathing conditions, and while Lupus had many hot springs, the places commoners frequented were never well maintained and were quite cramped. If there were too many people, she wouldn’t dare go at all.
It was all kept simple in the Divine Hall too; while the space was large, it didn’t have this many fixtures.
The Star Flower Travel Corps really is a pretty good place, the Young Girl thought.
A-as long as it’s not like I’m imagining, with some weird unspoken rules.
