Chapter 3025 - The Demise of the Destiny Soul, Ceaseless Damnation
Thus, Ying Qi had no intention of letting Su Yi escape.
He shook his wrists, and a bone spear appeared in his palm.
When he thrust it, its tyrannical edge shot forth with unstoppable momentum, piercing Su Yi’s defenses and filling the air with a rain of light.
Su Yi dodged, but the spear still left a bloody gash on his body.
“Why not use your treasures? If you don’t do it now, you won’t get another chance!” said Ying Qi. He took a step through the air, and his spear shot forth with shocking force and momentum, piercing everything in its path.
His ferocity was overwhelmingly terrifying. In just a few blinks of an eye, he’d left dozens of gashes all over Su Yi’s body.
Fresh blood splattered the surroundings as skin parted and flesh tore.
“It isn’t up to you to decide whether or not I’ll get another chance,” said Su Yi, his expression every bit as calm as before. It was as if he didn’t even notice his wounds.
Ying Qi smiled approvingly. “What spirit! But to the best of my knowledge, Seizing Destiny doesn’t last very long, and when it runs dry... you’ll be right back where you started!”
Kaboom!
Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, Ying Qi attacked with even greater intensity, his spear piercing the sky with seemingly invincible majesty.
Even Su Yi had no choice but to admit that Ying Qi was terrifying.
He was at least as ferocious as the Nine Heavenly Sovereigns of the Eternal Heavens Domain, if not more so. Moreover, as they fought, Su Yi could clearly sense the enormous disparity in their strengths.
Even drawing on River Ancestor Ji Dian’s true name, the distance remained!
As they fought, Su Yi sensed a constant, impending, lethal threat.
“Take this!” Ying Qi suddenly thrust his spear. It was like a snow-white dragon in motion, its tip like a dragon’s fanged maw as it “lunged” at Su Yi.
The aftershock shattered the surrounding area, throwing its waters into chaos.
That tyrannical blow was so destructive that it sent Su Yi directly flying. He was almost killed on the spot!
“Even after all this, you still won’t reveal your hidden cards?” bellowed Ying Qi, swinging his spear with lightning speed as he advanced. He wasn’t giving Su Yi any chance to catch his breath.
Su Yi blocked, then said, “If I reveal my hidden cards, the battle will end. That would be far too dull.”
Ying Qi’s gaze focused, but then he laughed and shook his head. “Does that mean you’re using me as a whetstone, and you can’t bear to destroy me just yet?”
His voice was tinged with mockery. He’s so badly injured, and I’ve been suppressing him this entire time. He’s on the verge of defeat, yet he’s still trying to temper himself?
But against his expectations, Su Yi laughed and said, “You got it! This is my first time using Seizing Destiny. It’s only natural that I want to test this divine ability’s true limits.”
Ying Qi’s brow furrowed. “Go ahead and keep at it, then!”
Boom!
He attacked with increased ferocity, striking like a tidal wave or avalanche, forcing Su Yi back time and time again.
River Ancestor Sparrow watched from a distance. If things go on like this, Su Yi is sure to lose!
Suddenly, Su Yi was sent flying once more, his qi circulation in chaos. It was on the brink of collapse.
Ying Qi laughed. “The power of River Ancestor Ji Dian’s true name won’t last much longer!”
He raised his spear, then took nine steps forward. With each step, he built momentum, and his ferocious majesty grew.
By the time he’d taken his ninth step, his strength had reached its true peak.
The Dark Light Forbidden Zone had already split and broken, but now, it sank and disintegrated into nothingness.
River Ancestor Sparrow panicked and hurriedly retreated, all the while circulating the full extent of his cultivation base. Only then did he manage to neutralize Ying Qi’s ferocious pressure.
Ying Qi’s bone spear glowed with monstrous, blood-red light, like a burning cloud of blood. It blanketed the sky and blotted out the sun.
His majesty had grown, his presence noticeably more imposing than before!
Strictly speaking, this was Ying QI’s true peak strength. For the first time since the battle began, he was holding nothing back.
His goal was to crush Su Yi in a single blow. He had no intention of giving him any opportunity to reveal his hidden cards.
How terrifying was Ying Qi in this state? He’d yet to even attack, but his sheer ferocious majesty shook and shattered Su Yi’s borrowed power!
Su Yi’s aura visibly weakened. He’d been forced back into his true shape!
Ying Qi seized the opportunity to attack without hesitation.
Boom!
The spear strike he’d been gathering power for shot forth, bringing with it all-encompassing blood-red light.
The surrounding ten thousand miles of water boiled. All of them were dyed a striking shade of red.
River Ancestor Sparrow felt a prickling pain in his eyes as that ferocious majesty sent him flying.
This strike was so terrifying that Su Yi felt a familiar sense of helplessness and despair. He’d felt much the same way back in the Literati Continent, when he faced the Heavenly Sovereigns, and after the Struggle for Heavenly Fate, when he saw the experts of the Far Shore.
He was like an ant facing divine punishment, or a mortal staring down the full-force strike of an enraged deity.
That was the disparity in their cultivations.
How could he possibly defend himself?
Ying Qi’s eyes were full of bloodlust. He was indeed attacking without reservation, but this was no desperate gamble. Even if something went wrong, he had cards up his sleeves, and he was confident he could handle things.
Su Yi was different. He was already at the end of his rope, his life hanging in the balance.
This was called “absolute, one-sided suppression.” Ying Qi had prepared thoroughly, all in the name of killing Su Yi!
Boom!
Even as this attack hurtled toward Su Yi, he just stood there, unmoving, as if he’d been utterly intimidated.
But it was then that a transformation took place within him, like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis.
A series of events happened in rapid succession. First, his Heart Soul stood and erupted with immeasurable light, like a blazing fire igniting a lamp.
The lamp was so intense that it was like the sun of the landscape of his heart. Its boundless radiance illuminated everything on all sides, down to the profoundest of minutiae.
All of the darkness of his heart, all of its profundities, and all of its mysteries were shrouded in lamplight.
His Heart Soul fused with the lamp, then underwent a thorough transformation akin to rebirth.
When the Natal Heart Lamp lit, it illuminated the subtleties of the heart. This was an all-new realm of the cultivation of the heart, a level far beyond merely condensing a Heart Soul or giving rise to the Light of the Heart.
This was a legendary level of attainment, one that even Heavenly Sovereigns couldn’t reach!
The moment his Natal Heart Lamp lit, Su Yi’s essence, qi, and spirit underwent an earth-shaking transformation.
At the same time, a dreamlike rain of chaos light scattered from the Book of Destiny.
An earthquake shook the Divine Punishment Destiny Ruin on the first page. All manner of Laws relating to divine punishment surged forth like a tidal wave as every last cell quivered and lit up.
The Monarch of Endless Tribulations and the Buddha of Non-Existence were both startled. They exchanged glances, both of them wide-eyed with undisguisable astonishment. What’s going on?
On the second page of the Book of Destiny, a weak thread of light suddenly lit up amidst the endlessly vast and unknowably deep Ceaseless Abyss of Destiny.
It was like the first wisp of light piercing the ancient darkness. As weak as it was, it was the only source of light in the endless abyss!
Mo Hanyi and the other six old-timers imprisoned deep within the abyss instantly noticed the disturbance, but, perhaps because it had been so long since they’d last seen any sign of light, they half suspected they were seeing things.
Soon, their expressions shifted. They weren’t seeing things!
That light really existed, and it seemed as if it had existed for all eternity. It illuminated the Abyss of Ceaseless Destiny, piercing its everlasting darkness!
That... was the light of the Destiny Soul! A glow condensed from Destiny Soul Power!
And Destiny Soul Power was a fundamental source energy that could control the Abyss of Ceaseless Destiny!
Mo Hanyi and the others had been imprisoned there for so long that they’d completely lost track of time. How could they fail to realize what this meant?
All of them felt as if they’d been hit by lightning.
Su Yi was now capable of mastering the second page of the Book of Destiny!
All of these changes happened in a flash.
Ying Qi’s full-force attack hurtled explosively toward Su Yi, only to vanish into that endless abyss.
The terrifying destructive power erupting from his white bone spear vanished, melting away like a clay ox dissolving into the ocean.
Ying Qi’s pupils constricted.
Su Yi just stood there, unmoving, yet a mysterious abyss had appeared before him. It was indistinct, yet it seemed immeasurably vast, as if it would soon envelop heaven and earth on all sides.
In the face of this abyss, Ying Qi’s attacks seemed paltry and insignificant.
Ying Qi’s heart shook, and his hair stood on end. He felt an unprecedented sense of crisis, and he retreated explosively, without the slightest hesitation.
Su Yi, who’d stood there unmoving all this time, whispered, “The demise of the Destiny Soul, Ceaseless Damnation!”
The massive abyss surged, then erupted with an overflowing, unstoppable, devouring force.
Ying Qi’s retreating figure suddenly stiffened, as if seized by a giant, invisible hand intent on dragging him into the depths.
His hair stood on end, and his expression shifted dramatically. He instantly took out his ultimate killer weapon—the Medallion of Past Karma!
This was one of the Negative Karma Destiny Demons’ four supreme Ancestral Destiny Artifacts.
It was utterly wondrous and strange. It could illuminate the negative karma intertwined with all living things, and glean insight into the weaknesses and secrets of opponents’ hearts. This created an opportunity for its user to exploit. With this power, they could kill their enemies invisibly and without being detected!
Moreover, the Medallion of Past Karma was carved with the Myriad Facets Edict, one of the Nine Edicts of Heaven’s Will. It could plunge enemies into a prison of negative karma, destroying their Dao Hearts and making them lose themselves to obsession!
But to Ying Qi’s horror, he soon discovered that even when he poured all of his strength into the medallion, he couldn’t perceive any weaknesses of Su Yi’s heart. Thus, the Myriad Facets Edict was totally useless.
This was absurd, and absolutely unprecedented.
But the part that really made Ying Qi break down was that when he tried to uncover Su Yi’s mental weaknesses, he instead caught a glimpse of a terrifying scene: a lamp that shone like the sun, its boundless light illuminating everything on all sides, down to the subtlest of profundities!
Ying Qi instantly suffered a backlash. His heart was in rending agony, his soul palpitated, and his mind went blank.
Awareness fled him, and he lost all power to fight back.
A moment later, he was swept away, like a leaf caught in a windstorm, and plunged into that endless abyss.
Embittered sighs emanated from the deepest depths of the abyss.
