Chapter 106: The master of Mystique Arts

"Who..." Alex caressed the simple yet pretty looking necklace around her neck. "Just who is that?"

She did not know about the young-looking pretty sister. In this room, aside from their young nephew, she was the only person curious enough to want to know a unique individual like her.

"She’s the Prime headmaster of Stanox, the mountain school we’ve seen," Sam took the initiative with a smile on his face. "Even though she looks young, she’s pretty old."

But that still doesn’t change her forever child-like personality.

"There are five school of taming in this world and she is the founder of the newest one, the School of Probability." Ian continued after Sam as he was a student at the academy studying under that very school right now.

Then, their father, the patriarch, spoke in a voice filled with a subtle admiration.

"She’s a master of Mystique arts, and arguably the strongest ’person’ in this world."

The distinction was extremely important here.

She wasn’t the strongest there was. There certainly were creatures, Diaties, and god-like entities that governed the laws of this world but among them, she was the strongest ’person’.

She was a legendary tamer beyond all understanding. Even for a (Level-7) Assimilator like the Sungrade patriarch, winning in a direct fight against her would be almost impossible.

But, strength and intelligence weren’t all of her traits.

"No one knows for how long Stanox has existed but she is the reason it is still standing for the last couple millennia." From Lady Markeet’s perspective, there were many world powers that were lusting for the resources and knowledge gathered in that place.

But, however powerful a force may be in this world, they can never go against a being that can literally wipe out their entire armies with a flick of her finger.

In her current state, the level she was at was too absurd to quantify. Even the Guardians of Sun Sanctuary found her to be extremely annoying since she always kept trying to infiltrate in their territory.

They had to increase their security over the last few centuries because she had somehow figured out a way to break into a closed-off limited reality.

"By the [Stanox Treaty], all powers of this world must swear an oath of existence to the prime headmaster and the academy.

In case they violate the law, there will be consequences. But if they follow these laws, the prospects of their nation can freely enter Stanox and learn anything they desire." Lady Emilia spoke those words with a little fear behind her words.

"One can learn anything they want in that place. Not just taming, but any form of skills one wants, the great academy can teach them."

Sword arts, magic, taming methods, beast ecology, group combat methods, high stakes sports, the academy was a birthplace for many of the things people commonly do nowadays, and a temple for the academic scholars.

Sam had shown that ’world’ to her already so Alex knew how he wanted to go there, how their big brother was there right now, and how their mothers and sisters had been there in their time.

The Sungrade Patriarch had even been there as a guest lecturer a few times. Teaching there, in fact, was one of the biggest honours one could have.

"Yet..." every one of them presented their piece about the headmaster to the little girl and after a while, the circle was being completed by the same person that started drawing it. "The headmaster is a headache for anyone that’s unfortunate enough to encounter her like today."

Mystique arts allow one to use the unique world of their tamed beast. Depending on their strength and bond levels, this unique world can be imposed on the actual world.

For most of the tamers with a mystique under them, it is a dream to reach a level where they can simply deploy their unique domain.

But the headmaster takes it much further: just like how she had become all the winds there were in the entire city of oren, she can expand her world to any place.

The way her absurd powers worked, she can kill a king from anywhere in the world while being all the way at Stanox.

But the same treaty that prevents other powers from harming Stanox also prevents her from directly interfering with their matters.

Stanox has always been the most neutral power in this world. And that is, by all agreements, the best thing.

"So you might wonder what she could be doing here, correct?"

When everyone was done speaking once again, the patriarch raised a question to his young daughter.

"Hmm? Hmm hmm!" Alex was also eager to know the answer to that question. But then again, what could be the right answer?

Today was merely a banquet for the birthday celebration of a border side lord of a great power of one single continent.

As the headmaster, she must be a busy person with lots of things to take care of. But instead of doing that, she seemed to be playing around the Sungrade castle in the form of the wind.

Everyone was wondering this even if they didn’t ask it outright. But, even though the person who asked this question didn’t have a good answer himself, there was someone who actually did.

"You cannot comprehend the actions of someone led by fate."

It wasn’t Sam. The one who said it was Able... and right now, he was looking at his younger brother.

"That’s a good answer, Able."

"But what does that mean?" Alex didn’t understand the answer even though the patriarch did.

In fact, all of the people present here understood those words in their own unique manner.

Much like power, fate was a curious thing as well.

The strange actions of Sam until now could be defined like that: something led by fate.

You cannot question those actions. And even if you do, there would be no concrete answer to any of them.

"She does what she wants and feels like doing. That’s just how she is."

Those were Sam’s words with a bitter smile present on his face as he looked back at Able.

This boy was so strange... At first he tried to kill him and now?

Now he was admiring him as if Sam was his role model or something.
