"What are you doing here little one?"

The small creature that he had been carrying around throughout the sanctuary had somehow sneaked out.

"Mii?"

The creatures weren’t restricted to the first cradle, but it surely was their home. There were no creatures that came out of their home when they knew the world outside was filled with demonic beings.

They were creatures that had spent a long time in the first cradle, and seeing a creature that lived there out here was surely a surprise to the professor.

"Miii~." The blue mole was happy to see him. She even hugged his face when Sam picked her off of his head with his fingers.

The creature showed a unique kind of affection towards him. And from that alone, he could tell that this one wanted to come with him.

"Do you really want to come with me?" It was strange to him right now.

The creatures that were present in the sanctuary were all amazing beings of great power. They were unique entities with a safe future.

They had their own set of skills that would be pretty useful to him, but this creature... this simple looking mole was one of the rare creatures that he knew nothing about.

"Miii~!"

The creature seemed fond of him, so that was a plus. He wanted someone like this... someone who would risk their home just to come along with him.

Someone who would genuinely want his company and someone who would at least be of some help to him going forward.

"Hmmm... I see that you are pretty adamant." The creature was right there in his hands, but as he continued talking with the creature, the person standing beside him, his great grandmother, was watching him with a bit of curiosity and question.

"Prism?" She looked at him, confused, and asked him a question. "Who are you talking with?"

She was watching him talking with something. It seemed like he was holding onto something. There actually seemed to be something in his hand, something that was only visible to him.

After witnessing so many strange things in this world, it wasn’t strange for her if there was some creature that was only visible to certain entities.

Most of the spirits were like that. They were not visible to the masses but, when there were certain people that matched their affinity frequency, they would appear before them, often in their unique material forms.

These spirits possessed great powers, and sometimes, they were just the right answer to a lot of things that the tamer might be searching for.

"Oh? You can’t see her?" Sam pointed his eyes at the little mole as he asked the question back to his grandmother.

He had not noticed it because the creature was so simple and so ordinary compared to all the amazing beasts in the Sanctuary.

He thought that the reason his great grandmother wasn’t asking anything about the mole was because it wasn’t something that caught her attention.

He was actually confused why she had not asked him anything about this creature or told him anything about it. But, seeing the confusion on her face right now, it was now evident that the reason was more than what he had thought about.

"There’s a little mole-like creature in my hand right now. It doesn’t seem like a spirit, so I think it’s a unique one."

He was curious to know what this little one was as well.

Throughout their time in the cradle, he had felt a certain kind of attraction to this one that he had felt with only a few beings in that cradle.

It was more of a connection of empathy that few beings in the world have towards other beings of the world.

The world of the beasts is often like this... they aren’t affectionate towards all of the creatures.

The law of the survival of the fittest prevails in the world of the beasts.

For them, the survival of themselves and then their own kind precede all other factors. And, the thing that makes creatures that care about other beings so special stands exactly as this feeling.

’You aren’t ordinary, that much is sure.’

There was no special presence to this creature. She did not have a defining aura to her. She was also not something you would expect to find in a place that was looked after by the deities.

Sure they were beings of immense power but if the first cradle had legendary and historical beasts as its primary residents, the presence of someone that wasn’t fit to survive in an environment fit for their kind would only mean something else.

Perhaps the guardians were looking after this creature for their own curious reasons, or perhaps it was something else.

Perhaps this truly was a spirit, just a different kind that he had never seen before, which was a big possibility.

There were all kinds of spirits in the world.

There are spirits who are born in the spirit world, there are spirits that are born in the human world. There are spirits that are born to represent a certain aspect of nature, and then there are spirits that are born with a physical factor that makes them a spiritual beast like the Salamanders.

The one that they were seeing right now was probably a creature like that, a unique entity that wanted to follow him.

"Hmmm. I don’t know anything about a mole that might have lived in the Sanctuary. Perhaps the creature has taken a different form for you. Some of the spirit beasts tend to do that."

There were a lot of beasts in this world and surely neither of the two humans had seen all that could exist here.

The beasts were entities of nature at the end of the day, and nature was the endless mother of the eternally present creatures of the mortal world.

"Can you tell me how it looks?" The elder lady asked him another question, but unlike everything they had talked about until now, the answer to this one was something strange.

"I mean... It’s blue. It’s similar to the mole that I saved in the sixth cradle and it has pretty pink eyes. That’s all I can say."

"..."

The answer wasn’t anything complicated but, the description of this being caught her off guard.
