Upon seeing this, Stanley stepped forward and stopped in front of her, "Yvonne, I like you, and I’ve liked you since we were medical students, but I... have never dared to confess my love to you... I..."

"Stanley..." Yvonne found it unbelievable.

Stanley continued, "Yvonne, I had wanted to confess my love to you when the lab gets the investment, but you just misunderstood me, so I have to do it now. Yvonne, do you like me?"

Yvonne flushed, not knowing how to answer. She naturally liked Stanley, but his confession of love was too sudden. She was not mentally prepared, and it was under such an awkward circumstance. Should she believe him? Yvonne didn’t know, but she couldn’t help but feel hopeful.

So she paused and said, "Stanley, I’m running late for work. Let’s talk about it later."

Stanley didn’t continue to ask, "Okay, let’s go to work first."

Then the two got into the car together. Along the way, no one spoke, but Yvonne felt flustered and her heart was beating wildly. She didn’t dare to look at Stanley until the car stopped in front of the hospital. "Stanley, here you are." She bit her lips and said.

Stanley unfastened his seat belt and turned to look at her with burning eyes, "Then... I’ll go to work first."

Yvonne nodded. Stanley then opened the door and got off, "Yvonne, I’ll be waiting for your reply." He turned and walked towards the hospital. Yvonne sat there, looking at his back, and did not look away for a long time. All morning, she was a little distracted. She had never thought that Stanley would like her, and he had liked her since she was in college. Were their feelings mutual?

The more Yvonne thought about it, the happier she felt. Probably only those who had a crush on someone could understand her feelings now. When she was secretly happy, she got a WhatsApp message. She clicked on it and found that it was sent by Stanley.

"Yvonne, have you decided it yet?"

Yvonne looked at the message, hesitated for a moment, and typed a few words, "Stanley, see you at noon. Let’s talk when we meet."

She didn’t want to confess her long-cherished love in such a perfunctory way. Some things must be said in person. Stanley agreed.

Yvonne put her phone down. She decided to confess her love for him at noon when they met. She was thinking about her choice of words when her phone rang again. This time it was a WhatsApp message from James. "I’ve decided how you should thank me. Invite me to dinner. How about today?"

Yvonne frowned and replied, "Not today. I have something else to do. Could we do it another day?"

"No, it must be today. Now or never." James replied.

Yvonne stared at the message he sent, and said to herself: she might as well do it today. Anyway, she had decided to date Stanley. Before that, she’d better return the favor and make it clear to James. Thinking of this, she replied, "Then noon. I’ll see you after work."

James saw her reply and replied a word, "Okay."

He wanted to see how she felt after she stumbled upon the scene in the morning. After finishing the chat with James, Yvonne thought for a while and then sent Stanley a message, "Stanley, I’m sorry, I have something else to do at noon. Can we meet this evening?"

...

"Okay, I’ll wait for you tonight." Yvonne couldn’t help comparing the understanding Stanley with the aggressive James, and the result was evident.

At noon, Yvonne drove downstairs to James’ company. James had already waited there, and when he saw the car stop, he opened the passenger’s door and sat in. "What would you like to eat?" Yvonne asked.

James fastened his seat belt and said, "You decide."

Yvonne nodded and drove the car away. Before long, the car stopped in front of a small restaurant. James glanced at the shabby restaurant outside the window and couldn’t help frowning, "You are inviting me to lunch at such a place?"

Yvonne nodded, "You asked me to decide."

James couldn’t help curling his lips. Well, he had no other choice. The two entered the restaurant one after the other. "Sir, two plates of spaghetti please." Yvonne found a table to sit down and said.

"Okay." The restaurant owner quickly went into the kitchen.

James sat opposite her, "You like spaghetti?" Yvonne nodded.

James remembered it silently in his heart. He glanced around subconsciously, and secretly complained about the shabby place. Yvonne saw his disdain and said, "This restaurant has been open for more than 20 years. I’ve visited here when I was a kid. It tastes good."

Hearing that, James was noncommittal, but stared at her face for a while when he thought of something. "Why are you looking at me?" Yvonne looked at him inadvertently and asked suspiciously.

James then looked away, "Nothing, how are you feeling today?"

Yvonne felt baffled, "Why do you ask?"

James looked out awkwardly, "Nothing, I just think the weather is good today." Yvonne glanced outside. Was it cloudy?

"Nonsense."

James also thought he was talking nonsense, so he didn’t ask anymore. Before long, two plates of spaghetti were served. Yvonne picked up the fork and began to eat it. James immediately took a bite, and he couldn’t help but praise, "It tastes good."

Yvonne said, "Told you."

Soon, they finished their lunch. James even secretly wanted some more. After leaving the restaurant, Yvonne said to James, "I have invited you to lunch, so that’s it. I’ll go back first."

She opened the door and got into the car. She had no intention of giving him a ride at all. James frowned, "You are not driving me back?"

Yvonne said, "We’re not going the same way. I’ve called a taxi for you."

With that, she drove the car away. James watched her car leaving and frowned. How rude she was! Instead of waiting for the taxi that Yvonne had called, he called his assistant, "Come and pick me up."

It didn’t take long for his assistant’s car to arrive, "Mr. Taylor, didn’t you go to lunch? Why did you come here?" James didn’t answer. He pointed to the restaurant behind him, and said, "Do you see that restaurant. Write down the address."

His assistant was surprised, then looked over, and said to himself: you won’t like the food here. Why should I remember the address? As soon as Yvonne returned to the lab, she called and booked a table in the restaurant. After she booked it, she sent the address to Stanley. She couldn’t help being excited at the thought that she would date Stanley tonight.
