Three women make a show. Xiao Xiao and An Ran rarely come to the Imperial City, and Lin Ruonan is usually with the Guard Team and doesn’t often go shopping. With no men around to restrain them, the girls were basically letting themselves go.

It wasn’t until after lunchtime, when all three of them were starving, that they finally left the mall.

As soon as they stepped out the door, they saw the Kong Mansion Banquet across the street.

"Ranran, I heard you’re the owner of Kong Mansion Banquet now?" Xiao Xiao looked at the restaurant opposite with a crafty expression.

"It’s not ’heard’, I really am. Come on, let’s have Second Sister-in-law treat us."

Without giving them a chance to refuse, Lin Ruonan dragged the two of them and ran across the street.

It was already past lunchtime, so there weren’t many diners at this hour. The three of them easily got a private room at the front desk.

"Xue, are there any other people in the private room you just took those guests to?"

Waitress Xue had just shown the three into their private room and was pulled aside by someone as she came out.

Xue looked up and saw it was the newly hired waitress, Sister Wang.

Sister Wang had dignified features and a tall figure. At a place as high-end as Kong Mansion Banquet, the waitstaff they usually hired were girls under twenty‑five.

But this Sister Wang was, rumor had it, already twenty‑eight.

To still get the HR manager to bend the rules and hire her when she was nearly thirty showed how good‑looking she must be.

Then again, who knew what kind of relationship Sister Wang might have with the HR department? Xue secretly speculated.

Hearing Sister Wang’s question, Xue shook her head blankly. "No, just three ladies."

"Did they say they were waiting for someone else to join them for the meal?" Sister Wang asked again.

"No. They’ve already ordered—five dishes in total. Looks like it’s just the three of them eating. Okay, Sister Wang, I won’t chat with you, I have to check on the kitchen or they’ll start urging us."

With that, Xue hurried off toward the back kitchen.

Wang Xia watched Xue’s figure, then turned back to glance in the direction of the private rooms.

She hadn’t expected An Ran to actually come to the Imperial City. She’d already heard that Mu Xingfeng had been transferred back here. Did An Ran come back with Mu Xingfeng, or was she here on vacation?

Thinking of Hairong ignoring her, looking down at the waitress uniform on her own body, and then thinking of how the past several nights Jia Chenggang had been going at her relentlessly, as if he wanted to screw her to death, a flash of venom crossed Wang Xia’s eyes.

Why should An Ran be basking in all the glory of being Young Mrs. Mu, enjoying top‑notch food and Mu Xingfeng’s tenderness, while she had to endure all this?

The moment she thought of the way Mu Xingfeng looked at An Ran, then compared it with that bloodshot, lust‑crazed look in Jia Chenggang’s eyes when he was on top of her, Wang Xia clenched her fists tightly and headed toward the kitchen as well.

"Xue, the guests in Private Room No. 5 are urging us; they’re asking when the dishes will be served." Wang Xia stepped forward when she saw Xue coming out with a glass of soy milk and a glass of juice.

"Huh? They’re urging already? I’ll take these over to them first. The dishes should be almost ready."

Since it wasn’t a peak meal time, if there weren’t many guests, usually one server alone would be responsible for a private room. As Xue spoke, she quickened her pace.

Wang Xia stepped in front of her and reached for the tray in her hands. "I’m free right now anyway. I’ll take it over for you. You go see if the dishes are done."

Hearing that, Xue gave Wang Xia a grateful nod. "Thank you, Sister Wang. The orange juice is for the two girls with long hair, and the soy milk is for the young lady with short hair."
