Former General Is Undead Knight

Lesson 26: The Raid on the Count's Mansion ①

On the third floor of the Count's mansion, through the window of the office, Count Mondo was astonished to see what the territory looked like.

There have been reports of a mysterious uprising in the central part of the city of Barilla, and it has not been that long since we sent a private army led by Glasco to repression and investigation.

Even so, smoke is now rising from all over the city, and the carcasses of the inhabitants are exposed to the wild, killing white-eyed adventurers who can see at a glance that they are losing their sanity.

"Well, was the identity of the unidentified uprising a herd of undead... If so, the case was triggered by the 'whistling demon'... there were no rumors, but I didn't know it was moving so fast"

Count Mondo trembles his gripping fist and looks at his own territory, which has turned into hell.

Next to it, a silver-haired good man, Guildmaster Yunos of The Dancing Sword, lines up and lowers his gaze to the city.

He stared at the undead with his thin eyes slightly open and flattering, and looked like he had chewed up a bitter bug.

In this crisis Yunos had increased confidence from Count Mondo by repeating precise advice to Count Mondo.

Yunos had more experience in action and lost his mind again than the ministers of Count Mondo, who had continued to use the goodness and willingness to improve his previous procedures as a weapon in a world of harsh adventurers.

It was not the ministers whose identities and blood ties were taken into account, but Yunos, who were instrumental in the crisis.

For this reason, he was also allowed to visit the office of Count Monde at will.

Yunos was also fucking laughing at this unexpected at first.

But the damage to the 'whistling demon' was far beyond imagination.

Yunos has worked so far with his eyes on the adventurer's capital, Barilla.

But this would also halve the number of adventurers in the city.

The next decade, at least, will be the mainstay of urban reconstruction, and it is suspicious that it will be revived to the same extent as before.

Rather than that, it was also unclear whether this commotion could really be suppressed.

No more, being in this city was making me feel worthless.

"I'm calling on you to send a messenger to each Adventurer Alliance so that they can help you hit the 'Flute Demon' commotion... the scale of the damage is too great. We are also calling for rescue in nearby territory, but when will we arrive? Too, the trick over there is fast"

"Right."

To the mourning of Count Mondo, too, Yunos only answers boredom.

"I'm also thinking about going to Lord Yunos'" Dancing Sword "for the Undead, and the Mage's Crusade for" The Whistling Devil "... What does Lord Yunos think?

What Count Mondo is saying is the destruction of the guard of the Count's residence.

Originally, Count Mondo had hired The Dancing Sword, fearing the revenge of Robin Hood, who had turned into a lunatic since the attempted execution.

That was a lucky time for Count Mondo, as the attack by the "whistle blower demon" began on the entire city there.

In this situation, however, he thought it might be foolish to continue detaining the Dancing Sword, a major force in the escort of the Count's residence.

What is more, the scale of the damage was too large than expected.

Asked for his opinion, Yunos runs his eyes around the walls of the Count's mansion, just below the window.

Around the Count's residence, men of the 'Dancing Sword' and some of Count Monde's private soldiers were fighting against the undead trying to attack them.

So far we have a steady battle.

Regardless of Count Mondo's private soldiers, the adventurers of the 'Dancing Sword', with sophisticated combat skills, were behaving well and still seemed to be without casualties.

But here, too, there is no guarantee of what will happen if we prolong.

The story was that the enemy was not only an adventurer who turned into an undead, but also a mix of 'whistle-blowing demons' mages.

Information had come to Count Mondo that the top adventurer guild, The Will of Silver, had been wiped out.

When Yunos heard it, he was convinced that "The Will of Silver" could not take the fall like an undead adventurer.

That's how he had concluded that it was the mage of The Whistling Demon who destroyed The Will of Silver.

Now his men, "The Dancing Sword," are also sparing time to kick the undead, but if "The Flute Demon" comes directly aboard, it will also be suspicious here.

Yunos meditates his eyes and opens his mouth after much thought.

"... Count Mondo, let's take off the urban barrier. Our Dancing Sword will escort you to another city."

That was the best hand for Yunos.

We can take it off the city of Barilla, transformed into this dangerous zone, and at the same time sell a great deal of gratitude to the Count of Mondo.

"Become!"

Count Mondo is surprised by Yunos' words.

"Lord Yunos tells Non to abandon his territory and flee!? If we do that, that will be the end of this city. If the lord also escaped, the private soldiers and adventurers would be scattered, abandoning the land. Isn't that the pot that The Flute Demon thinks it is!

It is like declaring that this territory will perish from now on, such as the Lord abandoning the earth and fleeing.

Adventurers who are fighting for their territory will also throw swords and escape.

Besides, Count Mondo has just sent a messenger calling for a response to each Adventurer's Alliance.

So fleeing alone is a despicable act that lacks too much integrity.

"Let's skip every beauty, Count Mondo. With or without you, the crisis in this territory has little impact. If you do discover it, you'll lose your morale. Confusion may result in extra deaths. So let us speak only to some trusted ministers and ask them to falsely say, 'Count Mondo is still in the Count's residence'. And to ensure safety…"

"... deceive the people and just run away? I didn't think Lord Yunos was so shameless!

Yunos shut up.

Yunos was good at reading the other person's thoughts and directing them to his own.

But it is a technique that Yunos originally wore when he grew up in an insecure slum, where he came from.

In the city where Yunos grew up, he had to come at the expense of those around him if he was to survive.

Anything it can't do, it's bound to die prematurely.

I have grown up in such an environment, but because of this, Yunos tended to hold a little too strongly the idea that people are essentially self-centered rationalists.

Even when trying to direct the other person's thoughts, the habit comes forward slightly.

For that reason Yunos had once also been denied his claim by Lambert.

"... sorry. A little annoyed, too. I imitated it to hit Lord Yunos. The way of thinking is each. Sure, maybe Noon should just run away. But Noon himself doesn't want to leave this city right now."

"... no, it's outrageous. I spoke of what was past. Forgive my disrespect."

Yunos bowed his head and left the office voluntarily as it was.

Finally, he turns to the back of the closing door and to Count Mondo, who looks tired.

Yunos, who left the office, smashed his tongue.

(Count Mondo, don't die. Should I leave here alone?)

As Yunos was descending the stairs with that in mind, he heard an explosion coming from the upper floor.

It doesn't seem to be Count Mondo's office, but apparently he was bewitched.

The screams of the servants continue.

Yunos' anticipated raid by the 'whistling demon' mage seemed to have begun one step earlier.
