Former General Is Undead Knight

Lesson 18: The Fall of the Holy City ②

A roar came from afar as Lambert ran around the Sacred Capital crusading 'The Enchanter Worm'.

He stops on his feet where he smashes the current 'Booster Worm', looks up and stares slightly away.

The building collapses and is sucked into a swirl of sand that appeared in the ground.

Then, from the center of the vortex, a giant monster appears that exceeds ten haynes (about ten meters).

The appearance of the monster bug is light brown, with countless human wart-like things swelling up throughout the body.

A large number of tentacles are stretched out of the body, and beyond them is also the figure of the sorcerer of the heretical Inquisition who was skewered.

Soon the monster's appearance turned into phosphorescence, leaving a vortex in the ground to disappear.

(I thought it was the one that was moving around, but did you finally get your tail out? Again, you seemed alive)

Once in front of Lambert, "Worm Kettle" had summoned the starving destroyer Abaddon by the ritual "The Meal of the Starving Tyranny Worm".

It seemed different from Abaddon's again, but it was definitely a high-ranking spirit in another worm kingdom, where "Worm Kettle" invoked the carcass of "The Enchanter Worm" wrapped around the Holy City for sacrifice.

The "Bug Kettle" should have left a wreck, but it was still survived by some means while the "Blood Mist Knight" bought time.

"Spinner of Truth," like Charlobe, there could also be a line that the man's body was just a possessive destination.

(... but it shouldn't be hard to hunt down as long as Tane knows)

If you are an unsure opponent, the conditions for killing are harsh.

Even against Charlobe, a mass of ionized mana, Lambert was forced to strike a rather euphemistic hand because he could not escape.

Only this time, however, it was easy to imagine that the 'worm pot' needed to expose a gap when it took off its body, given that the man in black armor who honored himself as the 'Blood Mist Knight' had bothered to come out to buy time.

(Now we have to hold his breath. If any more 'worm pots' go wild...... as one, you can't get out of here)

Lambert pulled out the Great Sword and rushed to the direction where the Spirit of the worm realm appeared.

When we reached the target point, it was painted more with 'bugs' than any other land.

A good number of bodies were scattered on the floor, and there were also scattered unbroken human bodies everywhere.

…………

Lambert looks around quietly.

The undead's sensing ability was sensing the powerful mana of the 'worm pot'.

But there is a bright red subspecies with long tentacles in "The Booster Worm," which seems to emit strange mana and inhibit sensing, and I can't grasp the exact location.

"Worm Kettle" also thought that the collapse of the building had detected his whereabouts by Lambert, and he decided to welcome him rather than run away.

"Who, who, are you...?

Lambert turns his consciousness to the voice that has come unintentionally.

A woman was falling inside the wreckage of "The Booster Worm".

Whether the eyeballs were eaten by the 'demon bug', there was blood flowing through the holes in both eyes.

Perhaps the eggs have already been put into the body from the wound or mouth in the 'demonic bug' and made into a nest of larvae.

The injury was also deep and didn't seem promising to help.

"... please, I really need to ask you something"

"Sorry, but I'm not free. But keep it in mind."

"My daughter, my daughter, should be right around the corner. Please, take her, take her."

Lambert turned his attention to the pile of carcasses of the 'Booster Worm' and approached it one step closer.

I don't think it would help if I were in here.

"... oh, you seem to be losing your mind, but you're safe. Let's take it."

The moment Lambert said so, a woman suddenly jumped, spitting green poisonous, giant hundreds of feet out of her mouth.

He takes it with the blade of the great sword and slashes his whole foot, releasing a spike as he continues and steps in.

The woman jumped to the side but couldn't, and the blade of the great sword made a big decision on her left shoulder.

The flesh will dance, the bones of the shoulders will be exposed, and the arms will hang hard.

But there was a madly stained grin on the woman's face.

"Ha, that's a sweet thing. But the plot seems to be weak."

The woman's face changes.

"After all, you were the 'worm pot'"

"Again? A good place to lose, don't disappoint me. If that's what you knew, you should have slashed my torso without hesitation at this moment. If I had, I could have targeted somewhere else, not my arm."

The woman, no, "Bug Kettle" said so with a laugh, grabbing the chosen left arm with the opposite hand, pulling and tossing it to the ground.

"Unless you're sure, you can't imitate the people in the way."

"Ha, for surviving those days, you're a lot of sweetheart. So you miss your chance to kill me, and you get more damage."

"But it won't. You will die here."

Lambert points the tip of the Great Sword toward the 'worm pot'.

I can lose my grin from the face of The Worm Kettle, whether it's pressed by a sword or by words.

"Upon knowledge of the weakness of those who guard. But bearing it in mind, it was incumbent upon the Four Demons to push through their ideals. I'm not going to fight like you."

Pinch a little silence and the 'worm pot' opens its mouth.

"Nice, the Four Demons. I'll take something I don't have."

The 'worm kettle' distorted the edge of his mouth and he laughed quietly, instead of the ever more tearing clown grin.

There was a vision of a mighty faith that was still alive and unshakeable.

"But you've been looking too sweet at me for a while." The Blood Mist Knight "helped me look the best I could laugh at... but I don't even make a minute gap against you anymore. I don't know if you realize it, but I did the subpoena on purpose to kill the heretical inquisition people just to get you ready."

The blood vessels float fine on the face of the 'worm pot', shaping a horrible phase.

"I have prepared a pile of 'Booster Worm' carcasses to welcome you. It means you can summon as many high-ranking spirits as you like here. Besides, I still have a guy who says keep it. Let me show you the essence of the Hude Tribe's spell."
