Former General Is Undead Knight

Lesson 22: Back Arena ①

The battle in the arena ended in Lambert's victory, and the surviving fighters were returned to jail-like holding cells.

As soon as Lambert was returned to the holding room, Maggot appeared with his escort.

"You've made me whitewash the arena, call myself Lambert"

On Maggot's face, there was no thin laugh that had previously floated.

He stares at Lambert with a nervous face.

Maggot finally realized after watching the final that there was no way to stop himself if Lambert stormed out.

"It is up to me to decide when a fighter who comes here will be able to leave. But it's a hassle to get busted by you. I'll do as much money as I want, if you want to leave."

"I have a purpose for being here. Don't be rude. Don't threaten me like that."

…………

Maggot narrows his eyes and stares at Lambert.

He looked bothered by the bottom of his heart.

"Is that all you came to tell me? Isn't there something else?

Maggot was meditating his eyes a little, but he sighed deeply like he'd given up.

"Lambert, you've received an invitation to the back arena. Bless you, your purpose will be fulfilled."

"Hmm...?

Maggot said Lambert's purpose would be fulfilled.

It suggested Charles was in the arena behind it.

"And what is that? Why didn't you take Bartolt, who craved the mighty, there before?

In the arena on the table, he even entered Dionate, the number two leading organization in Dark Street Dredda.

It was very hard to believe that Maggot had all the faces beyond the surface stage to prepare a place to be a backstage arena.

Perhaps the back arena should not have been simply a place where we were gathering the strong.

…………

Maggot silenced again.

"The invitation, you said? You mean there's a man on your back who can talk to you about exploiting the arena?

"... I would have been forced to take them, but it would be a hassle if they resisted you. If you go to the back arena, you'll see real fear. I'll let you choose. I don't know if I'm going to go outside and ask you anything, or if you're going to follow me honestly."

"You can count on it. Get me out of here right now."

"Don't regret it... follow me. You guys go back to your positions."

Maggot lowered his men.

Lambert then followed Maggot and walked down the aisle in the arena.

If you think you arrived at the end of the line, if Maggot accompanied the demon squares painted on the wall, the wall split left to right and the door to the ahead opened.

Ahead, there was a large staircase leading deep underground.

Straight ahead, but too deep, I didn't know what was going on down there.

We continued down the long, long stairs and eventually headed out into the aisle.

There was no doubt that it was deep underground.

It smelled like rusty metal, worm carcasses, and rotten blood combined.

"... the guide in the aisle ahead seems a lot tougher than me. Don't go off the road, even if it's short, unless you want to reduce your life expectancy."

Maggot stopped his leg and looked back at Lambert.

Before I ask for its sincerity, I hear multiple footsteps.

From the front, two women in courtesy appeared.

They weren't up from the neck.

The vivid cutting surface peeks.

"These guys will lead you to hell"

"... undead, huh? I see."

The two women without necks bow their heads politely.

It was a smooth movement like a living human being.

The fact that the undead are forced to make such a delicate move was proof that there are people here who are quite good at death manipulation.

The hypothesis that there is a strong link between the arena and the ruler behind Dark Street Dredda, as well as the three 'whistling demons', was largely supported

"Extremely bad taste"

"You're not surprised."

Maggot stared at Lambert in surprise.

I walked down the aisle after a woman with no neck for a while.

I hear slight groans, screams, and the screams of those who are clearly not human.

"It's time. Answer the question, what is this place?

"... I didn't bring Bartolt because I didn't have the body. He was popular in the battlefield on the surface... and he won't last long anyway. More than that, the boss prefers women and children with good looks to be tragically murdered. but... I was interested to hear about your strength and wonder if it would be a decent combat show in a while"

Maggot shows a neckless woman walking in front with her fingers.

Maybe that's how they were killed as spectacles.

"What's that groan? Do you have an audience here? What do I fight? Who the hell is the boss?

"Soon you will know. What's the point of rushing out now?

Eventually, he was passed into a large room lined with cages.

Several neckless women wandered around to keep an eye on the cage.

From the cage, a dead voice cried out for help.

Some are crying out for help, some are crying out for me to kill them.

In fact, some were beating their heads against the walls in cages, bloodstained and dead.

"Put it in the cage. You don't think you can come this far and resist, do you?

Lambert looked around and made sure Charles wasn't there.

"Is there anything else between the cages?

"Get in there now!

Maggot absurds his voice.

"Don't worry, I'm not willing to resist"

Lambert honestly went into an empty fold.

A nearby neckless woman stopped by and locked her in a cage.

"I really didn't know you wouldn't resist to the end, you stupid bastard"

When Maggot said that, he left the big room in the cage.

Lambert couldn't have gotten busted right now.

Now it was time for the true ruler of Dark City Dredda, The Neckless Witch, to appear in the back arena.

You can't keep the Maggots on guard to ensure you capture The Witch Without a Neck.

They brought him here. Charles needs to be recovered, too.

Still, it wasn't time to move.
