Former General Is Undead Knight

Lesson 36: Puppeteer ①

Lambert had left Dark City Dredda and was running across the land to his headless horseless Nightmare.

The aim was the residence of the Count of Perciris.

Count Percilis' territory is dominated by mountains full of dangerous warcraft.

Normally, travel needs to go around to avoid the mountains, but Lambert can travel straight through the mountains in the shortest possible time.

For this reason, it should have been possible to reach the Count Percilis residence before Charles, who had headed ahead.

Lambert had gathered information in Count Perciris' territory, but only information leading to Doma could be obtained.

For this reason, it was believed that the whereabouts of the large quantities of magic silver (Mithril) that had been bought and collected, which had become the starting point for looking at this territory, should naturally also be at Doma's research facility.

Because it is impossible to think of anything in noble territory, such as preparing for war while completely obliterating the signs.

But it wasn't at Doma's research facility.

And the fragmentary discomfort that emerged during the investigation of this case was connected, showing one fact.

Doma wasn't meant to be.

It was nothing but hiding in a land that could not reach the eyes of the nation.

There is a separate human being in control of Count Perciris' territory.

And it was supposed to be at the Count's mansion.

When Lambert arrived near the Count Perciris residence, the area was completely dark.

I broke up with my beloved horse Nightmare and ran through a dim city by myself.

"I wish you'd overthought it... How good would it have been if the Demon Silver (Mithril) in Doma's lab had simply been buried in collapse"

Lambert stops his leg whining.

From the shadow of the house, about ten soldiers appeared.

It was a face I had seen before.

He is a private soldier of Count Percilis.

They all looked sword-soaked, which could have been weapons in their hands right now.

Some already have their hands on the pattern.

Let me ask you something.

"... can you take my helmet? We have information that you are the one to give to the Flute Demon."

I can't do that.

To Lambert's words, the surrounding private soldiers pulled out their swords.

"Who was the first person to say that story? There's got to be someone who's started saying it. And… it is the man who is involved in the 'whistling demon'"

The person who now circulates such information was definitely the one on the 'whistling demon' side.

Not many know Lambert can't take his helmet off.

I just think he's the Eight Sages of "The Whistling Devil" or someone who has the opportunity to make contact with them.

Someone is trying to kick Lambert out of his influential territory by deciding he can't dispose of him in this city.

Perhaps not to allow further investigation into the massive amount of magic silver (misrills) that has disappeared.

"Is that Count Percilis? Is that Troinia, or is there another proximity to the Count?

"Jeez, you call yourself Lambert! I didn't know you were a 'whistling demon' person!

The soldiers have been slaughtered.

Apparently all I could hear from them was so far.

The soldiers do not know the relationship between Count Percilis' territory and the 'whistling demon'.

Lambert took the sword with his caged hand.

He waved his arms wide as it was, bouncing them together and pushing them away, wrapping up the three who came towards him.

Killing an innocent people is against your creed.

You couldn't have killed them.

Shaking them off, Lambert drove straight into the city and into Count Percilis' hall.

He stunned Count Pursilis' men as they stormed, entering the hall.

"What is it, Lord Lambert? I didn't expect you to visit my hall at this late hour."

When I came in front of the big stairs, I heard voices coming from above.

An old, fat man stood with his hand on his wrist.

It is the Earl of Percilis.

People's good-looking round eyes looked down cold at Lambert.

On both sides of the Count, his private soldiers stood.

Lambert has always thought that what hides Demonic Silver (Mithril) is the Dark City Dredda, which is properly out of the Lord's sight.

No matter how negligent Count Pursilis is in his affairs, there is a limit to stealing his eyes and acting.

Because if you don't use the Dark City Dredda, you'll be outnumbered by him, the lord, to move supplies, to move people.

But I was there.

Someone is in a position to prepare for war at will while hiding as many signs as possible in noble territory.

It is Count Percilis himself.

In his investigation, Lambert was so convinced that Dark City Dredda was intentionally created by someone.

And Dark City Dredda has so far been cleverly kept under guard.

It was Lambert's idea until he stepped into the underground arena that "The Witch Without a Neck" was by Doma's hand.

After actually confronting Doma, that line was unlikely, Lambert had concluded so.

Doma was arrogant and selfish, only interested in her own research, fame and entertainment.

I can't imagine a man like that taking time to build a Dark City Dredda.

Nor could I have considered that Doma had the kind of arm to work out a plan and keep the Count Perciris family tied up.

And most importantly, I didn't think 'The Whistling Devil' put his trust in Doma.

In fact, so much so that Doma made death current and began rampant for selfish reasons.

If we were to deposit an important force of war with Doma, there should have been a watchdog against her.

Assuming Count Perciris is behind all this, it will explain everything.

Even if he was a person on the 'whistle blowing demon' side, he would always have legs if he was foolishly honest enough to carry a banned magician and move as he pleases.

The fact that he is doing something suspicious on the side of the kingdom is outrageous.

So I dared to pretend to be incompetent, and on top of that, I built up a Dark City Dredda around me to create a 'situation that wouldn't be strange if I couldn't see everything in the realm'.

All the information that should have previously been suitable for Doma was now connected to Count Perciris.

"I didn't know you were connected to the" whistling demon, "Perciris. I thought he was just a coward, but he was an eater."

Even in Lambert's words, Count Percilis did not change his expression.

I was just looking down at him with no expression.

Neither were the soldiers standing around him afraid of this situation, only standing quietly.

They seemed to have known beforehand the face behind Count Percilis.
