Chapter 1340 - 616: Real or Fake?
"Kid, watch out!"
The beam from the flashlight burst forth in the darkness, and a middle-aged uncle in a security guard uniform, not particularly tall, suddenly rushed out from behind Motan and forcefully pushed him to the ground.
Caught off guard and pushed down, Motan’s expression immediately changed, then he subtly withdrew his hand from the inside of his trench coat and looked up in confusion at the uncle holding the flashlight, wearing the security uniform: "Huh?"
"Don’t move!"
The security guard uncle didn’t even turn his head as he barked out an order, casually tossing the flashlight up into the air and snapping his fingers with a "pop": "Khalet - Radiance!"
In an instant, the boiler room, initially lit only by the meager light of the flashlight, brightened tremendously. The light source was surprisingly three groups of shimmering golden geometric figures floating behind the security guard uncle. They seemed unaffected by gravity, staying fixed in midair and spreading a warm halo of light evenly into every corner.
This is not scientific at all!
Though Motan was under his ’Chaotic Neutral’ personality at the moment, he was still unavoidably shocked by the incredible scene unfolding before him. In less than a second, his shock rapidly transformed into a frenzy-like joy and excitement, causing him to tremble uncontrollably.
"Stay there, don’t move, I won’t let you get hurt."
Seemingly noticing Motan’s shivering, the security guard uncle who misinterpreted the situation uttered without turning back, then he casually swept out a breeze, causing the flashlight that was about to be smashed to pieces to suddenly pause its fall and land unharmed on the ground.
"What... what on earth is going on! What kind of yokai(demon) are you!"
At the same time, the fervent glow in Motan’s eyes and the uncontrollable grin on his lips vanished like magic, his face turning pale. A trembling voice carrying a hint of a cry, he began to retreat to a corner of the boiler room on all fours, his previously clean trench coat now covered with dust and a patch on his back damp with sweat.
"Young people these days..."
The security guard uncle let out a resigned sigh, pressing his right hand on the concrete pillar that Motan had been inspecting earlier, shaking his head as he lamented: "If they’re not rushing up to cling to your legs and pester you to teach them, then they start screaming and wet their pants, really... Huh? You’re still pretending?"
Motan was startled at first, then he realized the last remark wasn’t directed at him, but rather at the pillar... or something hidden within it.
"Xun·Li - Howling Fire."
As the uncle raised his left hand, he muttered a chant that seemed related to the Bagua and the five elements, then forcefully slapped the pillar. A spiral of flame, accompanied by a piercing explosion, erupted from the other side of the pillar, with something on top of the swirling green flames.
[This is really thrilling, should I pee my pants out of respect...]
After contemplating, Motan decided not to rush to pee but instead observe the situation a bit more. Meanwhile, he didn’t stay idle. He started to cry out loudly, and then sneakily bit his own tongue fiercely enough to draw blood.
"Hah, turns out to be just a Parasitic Thunder Goo Demon, no wonder there was no Magic Realm."
The security guard uncle’s vision was incredibly sharp, identifying with a single glance the species of the creature he blasted out from the pillar. He dispelled the impressively cool spiral flames and dashed forward, pinching the nearly demolished, charred slime-like creature in his hand: "Xun·Gen·Qian·Kun - The Four Gates of Taiyi Lock."
The next instant, the differently colored characters for [Xun], [Gen], [Qian], and [Kun] flashed by the creature called Parasitic Thunder Goo Demon. The slime-like thing quickly shrank, eventually turning into a small, crystal-clear, light purple bead, which the uncle pocketed directly.
[Putting it straight in his pocket like that, okay~]
Motan sarcastically thought to himself, then forcibly sniffed, and looked up at the uncle who turned around, looking nothing like a master.
After their eyes met for five seconds...
"Master!"
Motan, with a snotty nose and teary eyes, threw himself forward and clung to the uncle’s legs, howling: "Master, I’ve had such a hard time looking for you..."
Bang!
The uncle didn’t bother with words, simply chuckling as he slapped Motan on the shoulder, pulling him up from the ground with an unreasonable force, and then slapping the pillar that had just been blasted with a large gap: "Gen·Kun - Reshape Clay Buddha."
The pillar then eerily restored itself in a process that was extremely fantastical—almost as if ’concrete grew out of concrete.’
Right now, Motan really wanted to shout ’Coach, I want to learn this’, but he found himself paralyzed the moment the uncle slapped him, and aside from standing there like a dolt, he couldn’t do anything else, completely unable to control his own body, though his thoughts were still functioning normally.
