So, after catching his breath (he had been jogging earlier), Motan made a quick decision and walked over to a petite girl who seemed to be basking in the sun nearby, and politely asked, "Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to the Great Cathedral in the inner city district?"

Here’s a brief explanation: The sprawling City of Light consists of three city districts, namely the outer city district, middle city district, and Lee Dog Egg... Just kidding, it’s actually the inner city district. Anyhow, apart from the inner city district, which is somewhat more Detached since it’s home to the headquarters of the various Sects, there isn’t much difference between the other two districts, as they’re both quite bustling. The place Xia Lian had asked Motan to go to was the Great Cathedral located in the inner city district, which is the headquarters of the Church of the Dawn.

"Go straight along this road, turn west at the first intersection, then after two streets, you’ll be heading south on the ’Solar Flame Avenue’ to enter the inner city district. The Great Cathedral is on the east side of the inner city district."

The girl, who was holding a large book in her arms, didn’t look up but answered Motan’s question with her airy and slightly ethereal voice.

"Um, thank you very much, but I... Luna?!"

Motan was first disoriented by all the directions in her response, and it took him a while to snap out of it. He widened his eyes in shock as he looked at the girl and exclaimed, "Why are you here?!"

Indeed, the girl whose face couldn’t be clearly seen because she had been looking down was Luna, the apprentice Alchemist who had arrived in the City of Light with Motan the night before last!

"Hmm? Hei Fan?"

After Motan called out her name, Luna was slightly startled and then sleepily lifted her small face, calmly asking, "Good morning, did you just wake up too?"

The corners of Motan’s mouth twitched as he nodded stiffly, "Yeah, you could say that. So, why are you here?"

"Because this is the Alchemist Association where Princess Xia Lian has temporarily placed me."

Luna pointed to the large hexagonal building behind her and stated indifferently, "You and Mr. Cordova even helped me move my luggage in there the night before last. The place where Paula invited us for lunch is just across the road, you’ll see it if you turn around."

Motan: "..."

"Would you like to come in for a cup of tea?"

Luna pointed to the Association’s main entrance, bustling with people, and invited, "The room is already cleaned up. If you like, I can make some thick cocoa-flavored tea."

Motan shrugged and spread his hands, "I like cocoa flavor, but Princess Xia Lian wants to see me, so... um, not now."

His refusal was not tactful, because if he was too polite, there was a very good chance Luna wouldn’t understand.

"Alright, then wait here."

Luna nodded and then turned and walked into the Association’s main entrance on her own.

Motan: "..."

Five minutes later

"Here, cocoa tea."

Luna, reemerging from the Alchemist Association, nodded at Motan and handed him a slightly charred test tube. Then she stuffed a smooth, oval-shaped metal piece into his hand, "This is a toy I made last year. I used it for a while but then found I didn’t really need it, so I’m giving it to you."

Motan looked down and saw that the metal piece had the words ’East,’ ’South,’ ’West,’ and ’North’ engraved on its four edges, turning slightly.

"Thank you, Luna."

Motan almost cried with gratitude.

"Well, I’m going back in now."

Luna yawned and ambled back into the Association’s main entrance once more.
