Chapter 1112 - 511: Leaving the City_2
Coleya Igret narrowed her eyes slightly and gritted her teeth, "Do you believe I can kill you right now?"
"Not really."
Motan made a face at her.
"You... why?!"
The murderous intent in Coleya’s eyes became more pronounced.
"Because, like I said before, you are indeed not stupid, even smarter than most people."
Motan resumed in the tone of ’I go to school and am never late,’ and squeezed out a narrow smile, "So under my reminder, you’ve realized the issue, and you know I’m right. Right now, not only do you not want to kill me, but deep down, you even feel a slight gratitude and admiration for the man in front of you."
After two seconds of internal struggle, Coleya finally shrugged her shoulders, her previously intense vertical pupils softened and she sweetly smiled at Motan, "Alright then, let me thank you. Gratitude is there, but admiration, not at all~"
"That’s because you haven’t spent enough time with me."
Motan shamelessly shrugged.
"Oh? Should I ask the Prince if I can be your personal guard for a while?"
"As a cat, if you’re ready to be petted to death by me, go right ahead."
"Uh..."
Coleya tilted her head in confusion, then extended her hand to Motan, "Anyway, let’s reintroduce ourselves. I am Coleya Igret, Shadow Guard and Counselor to Lord Shu. Pleased to meet you."
Unabashedly, Motan grabbed Coleya’s hand and kissed it, laughing lightly, "Tan Mo, Bard, and a friend to the ladies."
Zing!
Suddenly, several faint blood marks appeared on his face.
"I just wanted to shake hands with you."
Coleya, licking her own fingernails, looked sideways at Motan.
Unembarrassedly, he winked at her and smiled, "Weren’t you about to give me a passionate kiss earlier?"
"It still stands."
Coleya seductively licked her lips, smiled gently into Motan’s eyes, and said, "Shall I lick the blood off your face for you?"
"Sure, but I haven’t bathed for a while, so if you don’t mind a bit of saltiness..."
"..."
After a long moment of silence, Coleya sighed softly and said with a wry smile, "Alright, I admit I really can’t see through you at all. So, one last question."
"No need to feel inferior, because even I can’t see through myself."
Motan happily accepted her ’compliment’ and then put away his lute. "Shoot."
"What did you say?"
"I said, you can ask now."
Recovering from the disrupted rhythm, Coleya adjusted her posture and asked softly, "I admit your previous deductions were spot on, but if all this is as you say, why would the Prince send someone like me, who loves ’outsmarting’ others, to fetch you? Isn’t he worried I might continue ’outsmarting’ people and kill you?"
Motan, who had resumed drinking honey water, looked up at her and asked lazily, "Am I dead?"
"No... but that’s because..."
"Because I convinced you, hitting the nail on the head and helping you understand the issue, right?"
"Yes, you’re right."
"That’s the reason~"
Motan looked at Coleya with a smile, leisurely saying, "Because he knows I can handle it, he was very confident sending you over. Of course, if I hadn’t managed to handle you, and let you develop some strong, nonsensical sense of crisis like potentially screwing Shu over in the future, leading you to scratch me to death, then that would have been my fault, and he would even think more highly of Lady Double Leaf, because that gossip had already given you plenty of hints, overt and covert, about killing me."
"You..."
"Alright, question time is over, kitty."
Motan stood up, scratched Coleya’s chin, and with a smile said, "Consulting me is quite expensive, lead the way."
...
Twenty minutes later
Game Time: PM 16:58
Salamoon, Royal District, Tri-color Courtyard
"Hehe, is it really okay for us to meet here?"
Motan walked into Shu Bresen’s estate, smiled at the Second Prince who was basking in the courtyard’s sunset, then smacked his lips at the orange-haired girl sitting opposite him, "Are you here to catch a man too?"
Double Leaf glared at him and snorted, "You really have a way with that ’too’."
"Hehe, don’t bother, if you were the only woman left in this world, I’d definitely come out of the closet."
Motan grinned and pointed at the prince bathing in the sunset, "He’s a man of wealth and power, and we’re a couple with ulterior motives, trying to use him to achieve our own goals. Wouldn’t you say we’re somewhat gold-diggers?"
Shu sighed, reluctantly turned to face Motan, and spread his hands, "Although you’re not wrong, as far as my analysis goes, ’gold-digger’ isn’t exactly a compliment for the wealthy and powerful, is it? Is it really appropriate to say that to my face?"
"Great achievers don’t sweat the small stuff, buddy."
Motan stepped forward, patted Shu’s shoulder, and grinned, "Looks like you’ve finished mourning for your family that’s about to hit rock bottom?"
The latter shook his head slightly, "I hope my parents live a long, healthy life."
"Is that so..."
Motan nodded slightly, then turned to look at Double Leaf who was fiddling with a stack of homemade Tarot cards, "So, it seems His Highness has already made his choice."
The girl nodded absent-mindedly, casually replying, "Yeah, he’s much more compassionate than you are."
"Heh, perhaps."
Motan shrugged and then slightly bowed to Shu, "Well then, we’ll take our leave first."
"Be careful, Tan Mo. Although we have made thorough preparations, the entire plan still contains many variables and vulnerabilities," Shu nodded, giving a stern reminder.
"Don’t worry, my prince."
Motan straightened up, nonchalantly dug his ear, "A plan without vulnerabilities is the scariest, because if even the planner can’t find any flaws, that’s truly pathetic."
He raised his eyebrows suggestively at Double Leaf, earning an eye roll from her.
"Lady Shuangye, please be careful too."
Shu shrugged and spoke softly to Double Leaf, "I hope both of you return safely."
She yawned, stood up, and curtseyed while holding the hem of her robe, "Thank you, Your Highness."
"Well then, see you later."
Motan winked at Shu, then turned and walked towards the door, with Double Leaf listlessly following behind.
[Was I too naive...]
Watching their retreating figures, Shu shook his head helplessly and sighed deeply.
...
Fifteen minutes later
Salamoon, West Gate
"This is far enough, Lady Coleya Igret."
Riding atop a chestnut horse, Motan lightly pulled on the reins, turned back, and waved at the cat-woman behind him, "Go back and keep your owner company."
With that, he sharply spurred his horse, rushing out like an arrow.
...
A few seconds later
"Are you trying to kill me!"
Sitting behind him, Double Leaf raised her tiny fist and Heavy Struck his head, angrily exclaimed, "Why so fast!"
"To catch up with the main forces as quick as possible,"
Motan continued at breakneck speed, shouting back, "My time is precious, or I’d have taken a carriage."
"You asshole..."
Double Leaf, disgusted, clung tightly around the waist of the jerk in front, gritted her teeth and said, "I should have never gone with you!"
"Well, you can jump off now and run back to Salamoon, then have Shu arrange a comfortable carriage for you. You might even make it in time to clean up after the battle."
"Go to hell, go to hell, go to hell!"
"Bitch, keep still, I don’t have horse riding skills!"
"Go to hell, go to hell, go to hell!"
"I say... you wouldn’t be shy, would you?"
"Not at all."
"Then why are you so agitated?"
"Because I accidentally discovered your head feels quite good to smash, it’s addictively satisfying."
"Oh, then keep smashing."
"Go to hell, go to hell, go to hell!"
