Chapter 1139 - 525: The Definition of Winning and Losing

"This is not a fun joke."

Double Leaf stared intently at the other’s crazed eyes and calmly spoke, "But if this isn’t a joke, then you must explain to me the purpose of doing this."

Motan leaned back leisurely, resting on the chair back with a smile, "Of course this is no joke. As for explanations... well, do I really need to? As long as I can guarantee that His Majesty Clive’s death and your goal of killing the entire Marshall Family do not conflict, that will suffice."

The girl narrowed her eyes slightly and, after a long while, softly asked, "How will you guarantee that?"

"With my personal honor."

Motan earnestly patted his chest.

"You also have honor?"

Double Leaf let out a cold chuckle, sneering.

Motan nodded as if it were a matter of course and then his smile faded, "Yes, If I were guaranteeing this with my integrity or character, you could just let my previous words pass as a fart. However, ’honor’... I think you can trust me, old pal."

"You can call me Double Leaf or SUN."

The girl pushed her glasses up, staring coldly at Motan, "Who are you calling old pal?"

Motan smiled, amused, and using the small knife that continually flipped and danced between his right fingers, he peeled an apple for Double Leaf, "As you say, dear."

"I can trust you."

Double Leaf caught the apple tossed to her and took a bite, speaking grumpily, "Two conditions."

At the same time, an Elemental Scissor Hand ablaze with orange-yellow flames appeared in front of her.

Motan whistled softly and laughed lightly, "Just say them."

"The first condition is a verbal agreement. If you break your word, then you automatically lose this game."

Double Leaf wiped her hands on her robes and looked out the window at the brightly lit campsite, speaking indifferently, "Of course, even if you breached the contract, I still wouldn’t be able to do much to you."

Motan nodded very eagerly, "Fair enough, if I break my word, I’ll surrender everything—name, address, phone, photo, Constellation, measurements, and surrender my hands over for disposal at your will."

"Second..."

Double Leaf, looking somewhat absentminded, nodded and, yawning, continued, "You need to come up with a more convincing reason to prove that even if Clive Bresen kicks the bucket, the Marshall Family won’t be able to turn the tables."

Motan’s eyebrows raised slightly as he asked with a cheerful smile, "Is that necessary?"

"Of course it’s necessary. After all, if those people are bold enough to act, their purpose must be to create utter chaos and then use the opportunity to help Rebo Bresen ascend," Double Leaf curled her lips, speaking without much thought, "The likelihood of them shooting the horse once they finish using the millstone is zero. How will you ensure the complete downfall of the Marshall Family?"

Motan gently stroked his chin, smiling slyly, "I thought you preferred to guess rather than asking me directly."

"What good is ’what you thought’."

Double Leaf huffed, speaking sternly, "This matter and this matter alone, must be foolproof; now that we’ve come this far, there can be no failure."

"This matter... must be foolproof... absolutely cannot..."

Motan mockingly repeated her words, his eyes gradually turning colder as he spoke softly, "Dealing with you right now is really no fun, SUN, you can’t even give me a tiny bit of pleasure, and that is truly sad."

The girl said nothing, just looked at him with a slightly heavy expression.

"To be honest, you’re really not suited for social interactions, although it’s only temporary, right now you still have bottom lines, responsibilities and that nauseating sense of mission, all because of a few fleeting data people with whom you shared some time." Motan’s voice was filled with malice and scorn as he looked at the girl before him with a sidelong glance, enunciating each word deliberately, "To be honest, I’m quite pleased that those people are dead."

Ned, Yina, Crab, Saracha...

Double Leaf instinctively clenched her fists, clearly understanding what he meant but unable to refute.

"Look at your pathetic state, how ludicrous, how powerless."

Motan cracked a smile and continued whispering as if a devil murmuring softly, "You know, if I wanted to ruin or kill you now, it would be simpler than stealing candy from a child. And you, despite your anger, wouldn’t dare lay a finger on me now. The reason is simple; there’s something you want to ensure... you hope some things to be foolproof... You’ve exposed all your weaknesses, all for some utmost trivial matters. You are very much aware of this, more than anyone else, and it is your ’awareness’ that makes you even more powerless before me."

Crack!

A round amber-colored stone suddenly smashed onto Motan’s hand and after breaking two of his fingers, disintegrated into pure Element and vanished into the air.

"Who do you say wouldn’t dare touch you?"

Double Leaf bit down lightly on her silver teeth, coldly watching Motan, "Do you believe I would kill you right now?"

In an instant, countless Wind Blades, Fireballs, Ice Arrows, and boulders appeared out of nowhere, rotating slowly around Motan in a complex and rhythmic pattern. Though they were low-ranking Magic, they emanated a spine-chilling power and murderous intent. At the same time, dense Dark Element was stripped from the air, turning into chains that securely bound him to his seat.
