Chapter 1015 - 466: Northbound Boat_2
He had already tried to actively switch personalities after taking a bath earlier, which resulted in such a severe headache that he nearly collapsed onto the floor. That’s why it took him nearly an hour of relaxation before he started his second attempt...
No matter the situation, this active personality switching put a significant mental strain on Motan, especially during this period as the frequency of switches increased due to various events in the game, making it more challenging and demanding. Anyone with lesser endurance probably wouldn’t dare to keep trying.
Fortunately, Motan’s endurance was still quite strong, and after so many years he had grown accustomed to it. So despite the unbearable headache, he quickly entered the state and successfully triggered his ’other side’.
Five minutes later
"Seria, huh..."
Motan opened his eyes with a look of agony, shook his head with a wry smile, and said, "I’ve been holding onto that information for over two months! And now you’ve just exposed it!"
He didn’t blame anyone, as it was a human tendency, but internal conflict was inevitable.
So, after mumbling to himself for a few seconds with his head in his hands, Motan decided to dwell on it in the game.

Misha County, Jin Hui River tributary, Scarlan Duchy’s Black Eel Class battleship deck
Cordova looked at the young man and woman lying side by side in front of him, thoughtfully stroking his chin.
"What are you thinking about?"
Standing beside him, Feather Song glanced at him and chuckled, "Wondering whether to cover them with a white sheet or something?"
Cordova shook his head seriously, smacked his lips, and asked Feather Song, "Do you think they look like a married couple?"
"Huh?"
Feather Song was taken aback, turned her head to scrutinize the unconscious Yu Chen and equally unconscious Motan for a long while, and shrugged indifferently, "Is that important?"
Cordova scratched his cheek, "I don’t know, but my family says it’s important. According to my dad, if he didn’t look completely different from my mom, he wouldn’t get beaten up all the time."
"Superstitious."
Feather Song snorted without thinking much about it.
"I think so too."
Cordova spread his hands, his face bitter, "But they both say that if I’m to find a wife, she must look like she could be my spouse."
Feather Song looked at Cordova, who was built like a towering iron pillar, and dryly laughed, "Honestly, if you look like this outside of the game too, it’s really going to be tough."
"Seconded."
Before Cordova could react, Motan, who was laying next to Yu Chen, shakily sat up and nodded earnestly, "I think so too."
The two were startled and jumped up, asking in unison, "You’re awake?"
"Who else would be talking to you..."
Motan massaged his temples, then pulled out a dress from his bag and placed it over the unconscious Yu Chen before looking out over the ship’s rail, "Where are we now?"
"Just past Hover City."
Feather Song replied instinctively, then looked horrified at the light pink dress draped over Yu Chen, turned to Motan in shock, and exclaimed, "You have this fetish?!"
Motan, frustrated, his eyes twitching, retorted, "I don’t have that fetish."
Cordova’s eyes widened, "Then why do you have women’s clothes in your bag?"
Motan’s temples bulged with veins, "Yu Chen stuffed it in my bag!"
"Why did he stuff it in there?"
"Told me to wear it at critical moments..."
"So although you don’t have a fetish for women’s clothes, you’d still dress up in women’s clothes at critical moments?"
"No, it’s just because something happened before that might have led to a misunderstanding..."
Motan glared at Kordo furiously, gritting his teeth as he exclaimed, "You think I can’t beat you, don’t you?!"
The latter chuckled awkwardly, adopting an ’I’ll pretend I didn’t see that’ irritating demeanor, and whistled before dramatically changing the topic, "Yu Chen is still in the game, do you want to send a message and chat with her for a bit?"
"I’m already chatting, starting from when you two were discussing white sheets and marital resemblance."
Motan shook his head as he stood up, leaning against the ship’s railing to gaze at the swiftly passing scenery beneath the night sky, he sighed, "But really, the ships from Skalan Duchy are indeed fast."
"Haha, after all, that’s pretty much all we have to show off," the other replied.
Just then, as Paula emerged from the cabin, she stood smiling beside Motan and patted him on the shoulder, "Thank you for your hard work, Lord Hei Fan."
Motan was nearly slapped back to the ground, rubbing his shoulder as he shook his head with a wry smile, "Just call me by my name, I’m just a mere low-level priest."
"I think that’s only temporary."
Paula shrugged her shoulders, then, placing a hand on her captain’s hat, sighed deeply in resignation, "I’m very sorry we were late. You paid such a heavy price, both the Duke and I didn’t expect the combined forces to fight so fiercely... Really, well... anyway, as neighbors, Skalan will make it up to Misha County."
"You don’t need to say these things to me."
Motan laughed softly, shaking his head as he turned to Paula’s guilt-shadowed face, "Perhaps it’s presumptuous of me to say this, but after all, Misha County is not a vassal of the Skalan Duchy. Since you are not responsible for our citizens, naturally, there’s no obligation to protect and shelter us. Plus, the plague has been so severe. Helping out is a matter of sentiment; self-preservation is your right, a fact well understood by myself, Princess Xia Lian, and the lords of Misha County."
Paula nodded silently, and after a long while said softly, "Thank you."
"By the way, where’s Princess Xia Lian?"
Motan looked around, remembering that when he had disconnected, Xia Lian had been on deck taking care of Yu Chen.
Paula pointed toward the cabin and smiled, "The Princess has gone to rest. She was already seriously injured, and she overextended herself previously. Not long after you collapsed, she went back to rest in the cabin."
’I let Feather Song tell Sister Xia Lian that I’m fine _(:з)∠)_, telling her not to worry.’
Yu Chen, who had been chatting with Motan via friend messages, expressed this.
"That’s good then."
Motan nodded slightly and turned to Kordo and Feather Song with a smile, "Then you two are coming back with us to the City of Light?"
Kordo nodded, "Yeah, I was planning to go there anyway. Now that the Apocalypse Lights have been gathered, it’s a trip worth making."
"Good, we’ll talk more about your mission later."
Motan secretly breathed a sigh of relief and grinned, "Maybe I can be of some help."
He had always been concerned about the ’monster’ now imprisoned in the City of Light, once seen by Yu Chen and reported to be much like himself. If he was not solely constituted by being ’Mor,’ and if it was he who now, rather than Yu Chen, had activated that crystal in Misha County, then by similar deduction, the other two so-called ’Shadows’ could very likely be Tan Mo of the Violet Empire, along with the very miscreant that frequently caused his blackouts.
Though somewhat idealistic, the possibility was still not zero.
If Kordo could confirm that the ’monster’ imprisoned in the City of Light was one of those Apocalypse Shadows, then...
"I won’t be going with you."
Feather Song suddenly spoke, interrupting Motan’s thoughts. She tugged on her neat red scarf at the collar and smiled lightly, "I don’t plan to go to the City of Light; I was just waiting to say goodbye to you after you ’woke up.’ I’ll be leaving the ship in a bit."
Motan was startled, "Leave the ship? How?"
Feather Song rolled her eyes and then turned to Paula, "Could you help by stopping by the shore later?"
The latter readily nodded, "Sure!"
Motan: "..."
"Well, that’s it."
Feather Song laughed and grabbed Motan’s hand, shaking it, "Thanks for everything during this time. I had a lot of fun. We’ll meet again if there’s a chance. Since we can chat anytime, I won’t make a fuss."
Motan also started laughing, "Fair enough, then maybe we’ll meet again if there’s a chance..."

The system alert sounded in the ears of Motan, Feather Song, Kordo, and the ’unconscious’ Yu Chen simultaneously.
This made everyone involuntarily hold their breath...
