[What a mess!]

Motan sensed trouble the moment the deep, hoarse voice rang out outside. He immediately swung his sword, forcing back the two still unresponsive bone bandits in front of him, then turned to shout at Ji Xiaoge, "Get back up, now, immediately!"

"Received, I’ll leave a bucket of eggs at the door."

The girl did not hesitate. She quickly packed up Kaytlin and the toaster, then took out a full bucket of tea eggs and carefully placed it at the door. She then turned and ran back into the spiral staircase, busily searching her bag while shouting down the stairs, "Mor, come in quickly too, I’ll try to hold them off!"

Motan had no intention of sitting around waiting to die. Once he confirmed that Ji Xiaoge was safely back inside the spiral staircase, he quickly summoned his self-destructive sheep and activated [Knight’s Technique·Falcon Attack] and [Thorn Charge], swirling toward the entrance to the second floor. During this, he used his slash sword to knock over several shameless pursuers who were also rushing towards the wooden door trying to tail Ji Xiaoge.

However, just as Motan was about to reach the door, a series of piercing explosions suddenly burst not far away. He shuddered, and immediately felt a chilling malevolence rapidly approaching, filled with a thick intent to kill...

Under that insanely sharp intuition, Motan, without turning back or making any evasive move, used [Knight’s Technique·Turtle Shrink]—the strongest damage reduction skill in his skill bar—in the blink of an eye!

The next second, just as Motan appeared under the self-destructive sheep in a head-hugging, kneeling defensive posture, two dense bunches of tiny, pitch-black steel arrows directly turned the sheep into a hedgehog, emitting a strong smell of fresh sweetness. Huddled under his mount, Motan had barely inhaled a bit when he lost five percent of his health points, indicating the ferocity of the toxin.

"Oh?"

The middle-aged Dwarf who had just entered the ruined tower arched his eyebrows, giving his sinister-looking black crossbow a couple of casual shakes, and with a surprised look at the self-destructive sheep lying on the ground, he licked his chapped lips and sneered, "So it can block a move. Quite interesting."

The newcomer was the very person who had spoken outside the ruined tower saying, "Of course we’ll continue." He wore a thick leather coat of a significantly higher quality than others, with two gem-encrusted curved swords sticking out from behind, and a quiver full of metal crossbow arrows of various lengths around his waist. His messy brown hair mingled with his beard, and one eye wore a half goggle, giving him a rather cool appearance.

"Standing before you is Furnace·Thick Iron."

The Dwarf waved off the surrounding bone bandits with a gesture, then casually pulled out two half-meter-long dark-red crossbow arrows, snapped them into his crossbow with a clang, and with a deep voice said to Motan hiding behind the self-destructive sheep, "He will deprive you of your life, take your woman, crush your bones, turn your head into a night jar, weave your scales into armor, and exchange your marrow for gold coins, all while avenging those less than scum."

Motan squinted his eyes and silently drank a Healing Potion to restore his health points to over ninety percent. He cautiously peeked out from behind the self-destructive sheep...

Buzz!

Two arrows bearing high temperatures shot out, one grazing Motan’s cheek and blasting a bowl-sized hole in the wall, the other fiercely piercing the sheep’s hind leg and exploding in half a second, flipping it over.

[Possibly even stronger than that Martial Monk from the Viper Chamber of Commerce!]

Having tested his opponent, Motan felt a bitterness in his mouth, yet he did not hesitate. He swiftly sheathed the Corona Slash Sword, drew the Justice Mandala, and furiously swung an [Arc Shadow Slash] at the Dwarf named Furnace·Thick Iron, then ducked and rolled to the side of the self-destructive sheep, muttering under his breath, "Sorry, buddy..."

He then pulled the self-destruct switch located at the back of the sheep’s neck and curled up, rolling to the side.

"Futile struggle."

Furnace snorted coldly, casually drawing a curved sword and slashing through the air, directly dispersing the Arc Shadow Slash, and then tossing the curved sword high into the air. He took out two more crossbow arrows,

loaded his crossbow, caught the falling sword in the same motion, and fired—the sequence was as fluid as flowing water. Despite his rugged appearance and short stature, he conveyed a sense of lightness and agility.

Amid the dense black arrows that exploded midair forming a barrage, blood rained down.

The body, filled with short arrows, crashed to the ground, toxins mixed with a copious amount of blood gushing out, looking utterly ghastly and fierce—yet it was not Furnace’s target.

It was one of the bone bandits originally killed by Motan, perfectly positioned such that Motan, who was rolling away, had grabbed him and used him as a shield. Not only did this protect the killer himself, but it also led to the corpse being mutilated by its own allies for the second time.

"Cunning boy!"

Furnace huffed coldly, reversely hanging the heavy crossbow, which was not much shorter than Furnace himself, on his back and drawing another curved sword, faintly charging towards Motan, but he suddenly stopped mid-charge, looked doubtfully at the three-legged sheep, and backed away swiftly!
