Chapter 1073 - 494: Scale Against (II)
Anthony Dabus’s recent attack seemed ferocious, yet it inflicted no damage on Sergei; the entire process could be summed up in eight words—complete dominance, merely an itch through boots.
The same old truth holds: battles between different ranks often lack suspense. Knowing that his opponent had no powerful weaponry, Sergei’s attitude was merely ’playing’—a game he could prolong at will, depending on his mood.
But this didn’t mean he wasn’t hitting hard. Although he hadn’t planned on killing Ya Ya and Ji Xiaoge—the two highly valuable Half-beast People Beauties—and had held back a bit when dealing with the rare species, Anthony Dabus; when he attacked Motan and Jadka, Sergei was definitely striking to kill.
However, due to the Martial Monk’s bad habit of using minimal effort to kill, and not anticipating Motan’s talents and Jadka’s constitution, the precision of his earlier attacks didn’t yield any kills. Simply put, Motan and Jadka were still alive, although not in good shape.
"Alright, time to end this game."
After leisurely knocking down Anthony Dabus, Sergei clapped his hands gently and strolled towards Motan, sneering, "I don’t know how you managed to hold on, but I can assure you it won’t happen again."
Without a doubt, despite Sergei indeed having the ability and confidence to thoroughly deal with Motan, there was still a significant Falge at play.
Motan didn’t respond, just propped himself up and watched him coldly.
Like every qualified villain, Sergei didn’t immediately strike down his seemingly easy prey. Instead, he said leisurely, "Why that look? Perhaps you are indeed a talented young man, and given time, you might become much stronger than an old rat like me from the gutter. But the moment you all tried to interfere with this business, your fate was sealed."
"Villains die from talking too much..."
Dabus muttered under his breath, nursing a splitting headache, while Anthony, equally dazed, asked naively, "What kind of meal? Anthony wants to eat."
"Ha, it would be great if you could really rush up and eat him now. I definitely wouldn’t stop you."
Dabus sighed, turning his neck stiffly to look toward Motan and shook his head with a bitter smile, "We’re totally screwed now."
"What kind of meal? Anthony wants to eat."
"Shut up, focus on recovering your strength!"
"Oh."
Not far away, Sergei continued ’chatting’ with Motan.
"I’ve never been a merciful person, so let me tell you what’s going to happen next."
He squatted beside Motan, cruelly ripped off a dragon scale from the latter’s temple, and with a vicious smile, smeared the blood on it: "First, I will kill you swiftly, then I will slaughter that worthless Old Mage by your side, load those slaves back onto the cart, and visit Lord Hawke Wood’s house; of course, those two beautiful Half-beast People ladies will accompany us. If I feel like it, maybe I’ll have some fun with that little dog on the way, and after the deal, I will send her and the Two-Headed Ogre to the Black Workshop. As for that beautiful little bird, she will undergo one to three years of ’High-level goods’ training depending on her performance—heh, it’s hard to say which fate is worse, as the ’experiments’ at Black Workshop and the ’training’ on the other side are both atrociously harsh. They say that in such places, death is the most luxurious and elusive thing. I wonder how you feel about that?"
This goes to show how appalling Sergei’s character truly is, for while death may not be a cruel and desperate matter for many, knowing your impending doom and that those you hold dear will undergo such tragic fates can make it immensely cruel and terrifying.
Observing that love ties increase the impact of this tactic dramatically, Sergei always carried a few bottles of Holy Water for the purification of the dead.
Perhaps Sergei didn’t know what relationship Motan had with the two Half-beast People girls, but the likelihood of him being involved with either of them was much higher than with the old man or the ogres, making his words likely to leave them feeling even more despair and helplessness.
Yet, Motan didn’t react as Sergei expected, with madness, fury, or hysteria; instead, he just felt plain anger.
Very, very angry.
Honestly, he wasn’t worried about Ji Xiaoge; after all, she was purely a player. But allowing the others, including Anthony Dabus—who, despite being a player, and Ya Ya and Anthony would surely undergo horrendous cruelty at the ’Black Workshop.’ Judging by Sergei’s practiced tone, it was clear that this so-called ’Black Workshop’ and the training facility for girls treated as merchandise had been operating for quite some time.
