Chapter 1071 - 493: Struggle (III)
[Extreme and Unpredictable Consequences?]
Ji Xiaoge listened once more to the system announcement and paused, subconsciously pondering but failing to think of anything of value. This was normal, as owning the talent [Allure], she struggled to understand the extent of her own influence; simply put, she had no idea how strong her charm really was, so she couldn’t think of any reason.
If Motan had heard the trait effect of [The Beauty That Overthrows the Country] just like the system notification sound, the frequently amazed Motan might really have been able to guess something and make a series of perhaps not precise but reliable deductions; however, the problem was he didn’t know, nor had Ji Xiaoge thought of consulting Motan beforehand.
Thus, after a brief hesitation, Ji Xiaoge still prepared to activate her seemingly profound talent trait—[The Beauty That Overthrows the Country].
And ’prepared to activate’ meant that she hadn’t activated it yet.
At this moment, an angry roar erupted from not too far away, causing Ji Xiaoge who was ready to "go big" and Sergei who was about to finish off his opponent to both startle. Then they saw a bulky figure rushing toward them with a thunderous noise from a distance.
The newcomer was two meters fifty-eight in height, bulky and muscular, with a pot belly and a pig waist, holding half a tree trunk, with one head yelling, "Don’t, touch, her," and the other bellowing "Demacia," as it thunderously rolled out of the woods, swinging the "weapon" straight at Sergei.
Who could it be but Anthony Dabus?
Being too big to keep up, they had arrived later at the scene after the battle had started some time ago. Anthony, having eaten a large amount of specially provided food in a short period of time, had a slightly upset stomach and had chosen that moment for a bathroom break in the woods. Dabus, having received the message from Motan, couldn’t persuade Anthony; with only limited control over his body, he had to wait until "he" finished in the bathroom before coaxing and deceiving Anthony to rush to the clearing, and then they witnessed the moment Ji Xiaoge helplessly fell...
Anthony panicked on the spot. Seeing Sister Yege, the first person willing to feed him well, being bullied, the simple and straightforward Anthony fell into a sort of ’frenzy’ then and there, and then recklessly charged at Sergei with loud cries, dragging the completely powerless Dabus with him, heading straight for that high-level martial monk who had just completed a critical hit.
"An ogre? And a two-headed ogre?"
Sergei stopped in his tracks, looking interestedly at Anthony Dabus rushing towards him, stroking his chin and saying softly, "Not bad. Sending this brute to the Black Workshop would be a great achievement. Haha, to encounter such a young, weak aberrant species here, I must be really lucky today."
From his words, one could tell that Sergei didn’t regard his opponent as a serious threat. He had said before, both his observation and perception were very strong, so with just a brief glance, he had approximately judged the depth of the two-headed ogre.
"Blinded, slow, only brutish strength."
After simply providing what he thought was a fair assessment, Sergei nonchalantly dodged the incoming tree trunk, quickly maneuvered on the spot, and split into three; using a technique resembling the Clone Technique, he simultaneously attacked Anthony Dabus from three angles with fist, palm, and claw, hitting hard on his chest, abdomen, and kidney respectively.
[Wind, Fire, Thunder]
Active Skill in the Martial Monk System
Requirements: Monk Profession, Agility 55, Energy Value Limit >1800
Consumption/Limitations: Sharpness Value 500, Energy Value 300, Physical Strength Value 300
Effect: Creates two energy clones with attributes of Cloud and Flame, respectively, and transforms the user into the Thunder attribute for three seconds. When overlapping with an energy clone, the user can freely switch traits with the overlapping clone. Cooldown time: 30 minutes.
Trait 1: The Cloud clone’s movement speed increases by 150%, skill cooldown time decreases by 10%, and normal attacks and damage skills have a certain chance of adding a slicing effect.
Trait 2: The Flame clone’s critical hit rate is raised by 30%, critical hit damage is increased by 10%, and normal attacks and damage skills have a certain chance of adding a searing effect.
Trait 3: The Thunder clone’s normal attack speed rises by 30%, all resistance improves by 10%, and there’s a certain chance of triggering a static effect when dealing or receiving close-range damage.
Trait 4: For each additional second the skill lasts, it consumes an additional 100 of Sharpness, Energy, and Physical Strength Values.
[Note: This technique was created by the renowned Martial Monk—Cen Storm Poorwine. Originally meant to facilitate entering and leaving the wine cellar of the inn he was staying at for thieving purposes, that changed when the innkeeper bought a three-headed magma hound named Kael Bellos at great cost. After spending half a month recuperating in bed, Cen never used the move again until much later, when his niece Lily Storm Poorwine, serving as a Knight Commander in the Justice Sect, discovered its potential in combat, thus ushering a new legend...]
From the skill description, this skill named [Wind, Fire, Thunder] seems extremely powerful, allowing the user to possess various flashy traits and an impressive clone effect. However, in reality, it’s quite challenging to use. First, while it appears to offer three powerful enhancements that can be switched freely, the user can only stably enjoy one of them; the other two enhancements in the clones can’t be directly controlled and only mechanically attack a specific target. Secondly, the clones can be killed, and with the basic attributes being only 35% of the original’s, an opponent of equal strength wouldn’t find it difficult to take down a clone. Lastly, to effectively use this skill requires extremely high levels of awareness, judgement, and reaction capabilities; otherwise, its cost and payoff are absolutely not proportionate, and would only drag down the user.
