Chapter 917 - 422: The Second Stage
Game Time AM07:53
There are two minutes left until the start of the second phase of the Requiem Project
"It’s time to depart, Your Highness the Saintess."
The Advanced Stage Holy Knight of the Justice Sect, Snow Mane•Strong Hoof, bowed slightly to Yu Chen while putting a bit more pressure on his foot, causing the pincers beneath to screech loudly. Yet the Mammoth Knightress’s face remained as serene as ever, as if she hadn’t noticed the presence of her colleague at all.
"I know, Sister Snow Mane."
Yu Chen grinned and then turned, puffing her cheeks to glare at Motan, "How come you’re here?"
The latter scratched his head, smiling guiltily, "Since I can’t leave the command tent until the start of the third phase, I took the chance during my break to check out a few of the fronts and confirm the progress."
"Hmm, that must have been tough... Ah, never mind!"
Yu Chen let out an ambiguous sigh of relief and then stuck out her tongue, moving closer to Motan to whisper so only the two of them could hear, "How long have you been here?"
Motan tilted his head, looking at her with some hesitation, "Since Mr. Stone Hammer asked if I was as outstanding as his grandnephew?"
"I’ll kick you!"
"Ouch! Did you secretly put spikes on the tips of your shoes?"
Yu Chen gave Motan, who was now hopping around while holding his leg, a look that was neither harsh nor soft, withdrew her foot that hadn’t really exerted much strength, and huffed lightly, "Then I’m leaving."
Motan immediately dropped his exaggerated expression of pain, nodded gravely, "Be careful out there."
"Isn’t my safety in your hands?"
Yu Chen chuckled, shrugging, "So I don’t have to worry about that at all~"
Motan rolled his eyes, muttering, "And here I thought you were worried about me being under too much pressure, but now you’re raising the stakes?"
The girl made a face at him, then turned and walked over to the Advanced Stage Holy Knight named Snow Mane, nodding, "Let’s get ready to go. Also...um, stepping on Mr. Pincers like that, it’s really okay?"
Clang clang clang!!
"Rest assured, Your Highness the Saintess, it’s completely fine."
While gently smiling at Yu Chen, Snow Mane continued to stomp on Mr. Pincers vigorously, saying in a deep voice, "Anyway, this guy must have said a lot of annoying things, like promoting his great nephew or mocking the brothers and sisters of other sects. A little lesson won’t hurt to help him remember."
Yu Chen pursed her lips, glanced down at Mr. Pincers covered in size 86 shoe prints, then shifted her gaze away with mild pity, telling Snow Mane solemnly, "Oh."
Clang clang clang!!!
"Excuse me, but let me lift you up, no need to be afraid, Windsor is a good child."
As Snow Mane gently picked up Yu Chen onto the Giant Beast named ’Windsor,’ resembling an armored rhinoceros, she continued to press down on Mr. Pincers with force. By now, he had completely curled up, clearly having given up any resistance.
A minute later, with the core personnel for the second phase ready to go – apart from Motan – including the princess’s bodyguard team and the princess herself. Everyone appeared in good spirits, except for Mr. Pincers, whose body was covered in footprints and who was grunting on the back of a grey goat.
"So..."
As the chief commander of the joint forces, and the creator of the Requiem Project, who ’just happened’ to be there, Motan waved to everyone, bidding farewell to those about to leave for their mission, "See you all later."
As the temporary leader, Snow Mane smiled faintly, "See you later, Mr. Hei Fan."
She then pulled on the reins of the Gorlu Beast firmly and led the way southward, with other members of the princess’s guard on various mounts following closely behind.
Meanwhile, a message popped up right in the middle of Motan’s view.
’Don’t forget I am a player, if anything unexpected happens, make sure to prioritize the plan and everyone’s safety, please don’t make any impulsive decisions, understood (•̀ω•́)!’
’Yeah yeah, I got it. If necessary, I won’t hesitate to sacrifice you, happy now?’
Motan casually replied to Yu Chen’s message, then scratched his cheek with an awkward expression, murmuring in a low voice, "Didn’t we talk about this already? Why remind me again, and with such a forceful tone?"
He rolled his eyes, turned and ran toward the direction of the command tent...
"Or did she realize that even in the game, I... uh! What am I thinking!"

"Go and rest a bit, get yourself into the best condition."
Walking into the tent, Motan glanced at Feather Song and smiled lightly, "You don’t have much to do for the time being."
The assassin squatting in the corner of the tent grunted, pouting, "As long as I don’t have to look at the friends list, it’s already a pretty good break for me... hey! What happened to your face? Did Wang Yu slap you?"
"You’re overthinking it."
Not expecting the slap mark to last so long in the game, Motan casually shook his head as he approached the map, saying offhandedly, "I just needed to wake myself up, get a little spirited, that’s all."
