Although she complained, she finally breathed a sigh of relief because Cordova arrived earlier than expected and was stronger than she anticipated, resulting in the situation finally being completely stabilized. Even if Motan couldn’t make it in time, and even if Jiawen and Silvia planned to fight to the death, Double Leaf was confident that she could extinguish Marshal’s last hope right here.

And whatever Double Leaf could think of, Jiawen naturally thought of it too...

"Ha, I was too impulsive; I should have decided to retreat immediately."

Jiawen narrowly dodged a tracking arrow, shook her head with a bitter smile, and evaded amidst the encirclement of a dozen Night Watcher Rangers, whispering, "To think he’s only ranked second on the leaderboard despite being this powerful. How strong must the boss who defeated him in two moves be, huh? I’ve really joined forces with an amazing person."

Before she finished speaking, she suddenly disappeared from her spot and mysteriously appeared five meters away behind two Fernan warriors, at their visual blind spot, then turned and ran.

"Don’t move, brothers!"

One of the Night Watcher Rangers shouted at the two Fernan shield bearers, then quickly drew his bow and shot three ice-blue arrows in a T-shape, flying over the heads and under the groins of the two dwarves standing shoulder to shoulder, aiming directly for Jiawen’s ankles and back heart.

All hit!

However, Jiawen once again disappeared like a phantom...

And the next second, she appeared at a gap where there were no elites from the Lord’s Allied Forces, no heretics, or Slave Capturing Group!

The only gap on the battlefield!

That was her real target.

Despite the limited time and constant disturbances, Jiawen quickly found the best spot to break through the blockade and successfully got herself there.

[Damn! Too late!]

A few Rangers spotted Jiawen the moment she reappeared and launched an attack, but they themselves knew that after being fooled twice consecutively, this last hurriedly launched attack posed little threat. If she could maintain her previous agility, not to mention coming out unscathed, at least avoiding fatal hits was still achievable.

Indeed, Jiawen, who maintained a high level of concentration, didn’t disappoint them as she skillfully dodged those strong arrows and then... was blocked by a rising jagged glacier.

"Hey, where did you think you were going?"

Double Leaf threw a flirtatious look at Jiawen from afar and then shouted loudly, "Is there any melee fighter without pressure, is there any melee fighter without... ah, just you two! Go over there and beat up that pink-haired one!"

Then two Gate Keeper Soldiers, who had just been flattened by Cordova, charged towards Jiawen with their shields.

"This really is..."

Jiawen ducked two flying shields and was forced back into the circle by two burning boulders a second later. She sighed, activated "Survival Instinct," and quickly ducked into the midst of the dozen persisting heretics, ruefully saying, "It seems I’m really going to fall here this time... well, that’s fine, lessons are always welcome."

Of course, even though she had resigned herself to a ’death in battle,’ Jiawen still didn’t give up struggling. As long as the people she brought weren’t all dead, she could survive with them as cover. And as long as she was alive, variables could still occur, even if just a chance for escape, which was worth a slight effort.

And Double Leaf didn’t mind Jiawen struggling a bit more. Killing Jiawen was certainly good, but if Jiawen managed to escape, it wasn’t a big deal. As long as those who attempted to assassinate Clayvo at the core died here, that was enough. Given Cordova’s current overwhelming speed, the enemy would last no more than fifteen more minutes, so for now, steady and methodical was the way to go.

"Damn it...!"

On her sixth attempt to sneak attack Cordova, Silvia quickly retreated with numb hands. She had just tried to twist his neck, but almost dislocated her wrist instead. Honestly, she had never seen anyone with a neck so tough.

"Hey! You don’t think I can really catch up to you, do you?"

Cordova, annoyed at being harassed once again which allowed several enemies to escape from in front of him, turned back and glared at Sylvia, fuming, "I’ve told you not to push me!"

The latter indeed revealed a seductive and charming smile, gently licked the corner of her lips, and provocatively said, "Then come chase me."

She truly hoped that Cordova would focus solely on her; if that were the case, although their number had reduced by nearly one-third, the assassination group, still possessing significant combat power, might have a chance at a bloody breakout. The odds weren’t high, but they were definitely not zero. If this mysterious creature of unknown origin and construction continued to wreak havoc, their situation would become truly dire.

As for her own safety, Sylvia, who thought she had fully grasped Cordova’s abilities, wasn’t too worried. She knew that his attack power, defensive power, and explosive power were all at least one level above her own. Yet, solely in terms of speed, she, as an Elf Blood Seeker, had no reason to be slower than him. Additionally, she might be able to exhaust this monster to death by continually using ice magic to interfere or slow him down while being chased...

[Exhaust this...monster to death?]

Boom!!!

Moving at high-speed, Sylvia was unable to react before suddenly being slapped on her left shoulder by Cordova right in front of her. She was sent flying like a cannonball until she crashed into an unfortunate Heretical Cultist Mage and stopped, spewing a large mouthful of blood instantly. Her entire left arm hung limply by her side, bones completely shattered.

"How could you be so fast..."

She staggered to her feet, her pale cheeks flushed, her lips continuously dripping with sweet-smelling blood, clearly severely injured.

"Miss, please don’t phrase it so ambiguously. If you want to express surprise, you could just say, ’Why is your speed so fast?’"

Cordova solemnly retorted, then cracked his knuckles a couple of times, while steam burst from his calves and neck, and said in a deep voice, "I just entered a brief state of overload, although it was only for a moment, but it was enough to keep up with your speed."

Sylvia clenched her silver teeth, "Were you just playing with me before?"

"Why the hell would I waste my time here playing with you!"

Cordova casually blasted away a Heretic goblin Thief who was passing by him in stealth, said weakly, "I didn’t want to overload because I honestly don’t have much energy left. Ah, forget it... Since the mission is already completed, Luwei that old guy won’t say much I guess..."

Boom!

As soon as he finished speaking, several streaks of blue light flashed behind and on the sides of Cordova’s torso and legs. A violent surge of energy exploded right where he stood, and the overload of four Acceleration Runes briefly brought him right in front of Sylvia, who spoke softly, "So, I’ll just put you out of your misery."

That said, he swung a punch charged with half a Rune of Giant Strength straight at Sylvia’s chest...

But instead, it smashed into a group of bats scattering in all directions!

"What the heck, is this Castlevania?!"

Missing the target... well, failing to strike down his principal opponent, Cordova shouted frustratedly but could only watch as the bats dispersed. If it had been just one or all flying in the same direction, it might have been manageable, but without the ability to fly, Cordova could do no more than stare.

Thus, he stared for about five seconds, then turned around furiously, ready to vent his frustration on the Heretics and Slave Traders still able to stand.

Seeing Sylvia being forced by Cordova to withdraw from the battlefield, Double Leaf also finally breathed a sigh of relief...

The balance of victory, at last, heavily tipped towards his side.
