Chapter 700 - 337: Father’s Inheritance (Part 1)
Huaixi is currently mingling with the new recruits in training, and every evening, he still receives special instruction from his great-grandfather, Gu Molin. His life is incredibly busy and fulfilling, like a spinning top that never stops, leaving him hardly any time to catch his breath.
For an ordinary child, this kind of life might be dull and boring, even painful and hard to endure. But for him, born with a bloodline eager for battle, such a life is actually happier than the mundane days of school. At the very least... with all the busyness, he has less time to mourn his two deceased relatives, collapsing into sleep each night without even dreaming.
"Excuse me, sir, are you the one looking for me?" The high-intensity training and the nutritious diet have made Huaixi start growing rapidly again; he’s now about 1.3 meters tall. Unfortunately, his sudden growth has completely gotten rid of his baby fat, making his chin slightly sharper, which makes him look a bit thinner, but he’s very spirited, clean and fresh.
Huaixi secretly examined the man’s attire: dressed in a black suit, short hair styled neatly with hair gel, a square face with strong, rugged features, wearing a pair of stiff black-framed glasses, clearly a very meticulous person.
"Is it you who is looking for me, sir?" Huaixi looked at the man uncertainly, pondering intensely whether he had met this person somewhere before. After half a minute of thought, he still couldn’t recall any familiar impression; he didn’t know this man.
As Huaixi examined the other, the man was also scrutinizing him, inwardly perplexed. Since when did the Alliance recruit such young children into the Military Department? Or is it that this person is merely short and youthful-looking, actually a baby-faced adult?
His thoughts scattered, the man only came back to himself when Huaixi voiced his query, confirming that the child before him indeed was a child. Listen to that voice, still carrying the innocence of youth. However... his entire demeanor truly resembled that of a grown-up; standing there, no one would mistakenly think he was an easily deceived little child.
"Ahem, ahem... Mr. Gu Huaixi, let me introduce myself first..." The man cleared his throat twice, then reached out his hand to Huaixi, addressing him as "Mr.", "I am a lawyer from Anshou Law Firm, here to resolve an inheritance issue."
"Inheritance?" Huaixi had initially trained himself to have a poker face, so even though he was internally a bit surprised, he still didn’t show any expression, mastering a blank look. Though while speaking, his tone slightly rose, allowing others to hear the confusion in his voice.
Huaixi used to admire Gu Ningxuan greatly, always striving to emulate his expressionless demeanor. However, after recent events, he had deviated slightly, his poker face evolving into a more intense version: the iceberg look.

The older recruit brothers training alongside him secretly teased him, saying he was a walking air conditioner—an iceberg princeling. They joked that in the summer, hugging him was comfortable, but in the winter, he turned into an ice block. Huaixi knew about these jokes, but as his great-grandfather said, as long as the teasing wasn’t malicious, they could say whatever they wanted. A true warrior dares to face a life of gossip.
Upon hearing that the man was a lawyer, Huaixi’s slightly laid-back eyebrows tightened, "What do you mean by inheritance, Mr. Lawyer?"
The self-proclaimed lawyer coughed again, explaining his true purpose for coming this time, "This inheritance is left by your legal father, namely Mr. Gu Ningxuan, and according to the priority of inheritance succession, I’ve come to find you."
Huaixi may not be well-versed in books, but that doesn’t make him idiotic or illiterate. Although he’s not very familiar with inheritance laws, he’s not absolutely clueless either. Currently, it’s the interstellar era, and inheritance issues are not as straightforward as on Ancient Earth.
This completely unfamiliar lawyer approached him, implying that the matter at hand wasn’t trivial. Either the inheritance involves major complications, or it’s extremely valuable, a responsibility the lawyer himself cannot bear.
"Can I ask what exactly this inheritance is? My father once offended the family and was nearly kicked out, so even if there is inheritance, it probably wouldn’t cover the travel expenses for you, Mr. Lawyer," Huaixi remarked. This wasn’t Huaixi intentionally belittling Gu Ningxuan; it’s just reality—Gu Ningxuan indeed wasn’t a wealthy man.
