Wu Qihua let out a hearty laugh. "Haha! I told you to call me that, and you actually did it. It sounds wonderful, so let’s make it official."

Ever since Su Li had told her she looked so young that strangers would mistake her for Wu Sheng’s older sister.

Wu Qihua had taken that to heart and done just as she’d said. She’d already pretended to be Wu Sheng’s sister once before.

"Don’t you two get it wrong later." This was a spur-of-the-moment idea, and she hadn’t expected Su Li and Little Tang Mo to be so cooperative. Her spirits soared.

"Okay," Su Li and Little Tang Mo hastily agreed with a nod.

Well, it was less about agreeing and more about surrendering to Wu Qihua’s charismatic, domineering aura.

’Who could say no to a woman as charming and commanding as Wu Qihua!’

"Such good kids," Wu Qihua praised them with satisfaction. Then, her sharp gaze shot toward Wu Sheng.

"But you’re the most important one. If you dare get it wrong later... hmph, hmph."

The final two "hmphs" were full of menace.

Wu Sheng: "..."

Seeing Wu Sheng’s miserable expression, Su Li let out a PFFT of laughter.

Hearing her laugh, Wu Sheng glanced at Su Li and gritted his teeth.

"This is all your fault and your ’brilliant’ idea."

Su Li quickly stifled her smile. "Ahem... I didn’t suggest anything. I was just being honest."

Wu Sheng took two deep breaths and, under Wu Qihua’s predatory gaze, managed to squeeze out a single word: "Sis."

"Good boy," Wu Qihua nodded, satisfied.

Wu Qihua’s gift was a cake, while Wu Sheng’s was a toy handgun.

Wu Sheng had made it himself.

All little boys love things like this, and Little Tang Mo wouldn’t let go of it after he received it.

"Do you like it?" Wu Sheng asked, already knowing the answer.

Little Tang Mo nodded emphatically. "I love it."

"I’m glad you love it. Just remember, it’s for playing, not for shooting people. Even though it’s a toy, it’ll still hurt if it hits someone."

Little Tang Mo nodded. "Okay."

He was dying to try it out.

Wu Sheng held him back. "Hang on, there’s a special feature."

He took the toy gun and pointed to a switch. "This is a special, one-of-a-kind toy gun. Here, cover your ears."

Little Tang Mo obediently covered his ears.

Wu Sheng pressed the switch, holding it down for two seconds. The toy handgun let out a piercing BEEP!

Wu Sheng lowered the hand covering one of his ears. "I installed something special in here. If you ever run into trouble or danger, you can press and hold it."

The piercing sound acts as an alarm and can also hurt someone’s eardrums, a bit like a sonic scream attack you’d see in stories.

Little Tang Mo was dumbfounded.

"What do you think? I’m pretty amazing, right? When you press it yourself, remember to cover one of your ears so it doesn’t hurt you as much."

Little Tang Mo nodded again and again. "Okay, thank you, Uncle."

This gift was exactly what Little Tang Mo wanted. He was so happy and excited that he couldn’t help but give Wu Sheng a peck on the cheek.

He was a little embarrassed after he did it.

Little Tang Mo scampered into his room with the toy gun, leaving Wu Sheng behind, grinning like an idiot.

"Ahem... This kid... this Little Point... he took advantage of me..."

Su Li and Wu Qihua, who had witnessed the entire scene, scoffed.

Wu Qihua’s commentary was razor-sharp. "Look at you, playing coy after getting exactly what you wanted. You’re so happy you could jump for joy, yet you’re still trying to play it tough."

Su Li let out a little "hmph." "Just admit you’re happy."

Even though he was considered seven after the New Year, his actual birthday meant that Little Tang Mo was only officially turning seven today.

He was a seven-year-old boy, desperate to grow up. He’d been on a "be a man" kick for a while now and had stopped giving Su Li kisses.

And yet, he’d just kissed Wu Sheng... ’Hmph...’

Su Li would never admit she was a tiny bit jealous.

"Stop grinning like an idiot and come help," Wu Qihua huffed.

Wu Sheng obediently went into the kitchen to help Su Li.

As for Wu Qihua, Su Li absolutely refused to let her lift a finger, so she went to play with Little Tang Mo instead.

After they had been busy for a little while, Yin Cuihua and Li Hongqin arrived with their children.

Su Li hurried to make introductions, and nearly let the cat out of the bag when she got to Wu Qihua.

In the end, Wu Qihua cut Su Li off and took over to introduce herself.

"I’m Wu Sheng’s older sister, Wu Qihua."

"Hello, Sister Wu." Neither Yin Cuihua nor Li Hongqin had ever met Wu Qihua before. They were a little puzzled, as they’d never heard Su Li mention Wu Sheng had a sister, but they greeted her without a hint of suspicion.

"Come in, come in, have a seat." Wu Qihua was exceptionally pleased and satisfied, her spirits high.

Wu Sheng: "..."

After a flurry of activity, with Yin Cuihua and Li Hongqin pitching in to help, the birthday feast was soon ready.

Right on schedule, Little Tang Mo’s classmates arrived as well.

"Hello, Auntie!"

Six little kids, all very polite, greeted Su Li.

"Oh, hello! Come in, come on in!"

Little Tang Mo went to greet his friends. A rare smile appeared on his usually cool and reserved face, much to his friends’ pleasant surprise.

The six friends were all classmates of Little Tang Mo.

Little Tang Mo was usually quite aloof, but he never refused his classmates if they spoke to him or asked for help.

Kids will be kids, and since they all played together, they considered him a friend even though he was usually a boy of few words.

Back when Little Tang Mo couldn’t speak, these same kids had always looked out for him. When he finally started talking, they were all overjoyed.

And Little Tang Mo, being a sensitive and smart boy, knew perfectly well who was kind to him and who wasn’t.

Even though he didn’t usually roughhouse or joke around with them, a bond had still formed.

The children brought their own little gifts—homemade cards, snacks—each one full of heartfelt sincerity.

Now that everyone had arrived, Little Tang Mo’s birthday party officially began.

Su Li’s cooking was impeccable. Everyone, adults and children alike, ate with gusto.

The young classmates were eating so intently they barely had time to talk, but they still managed to praise Su Li.

"Auntie, your food is so delicious! It’s way better than my mom’s cooking."

"Yeah! It’s better than my grandma’s cooking, too!"

"Auntie, can I come over for dinner all the time?"

"Me too!"

Su Li didn’t even need to answer. They carried on the conversation themselves, creating a lively hubbub.

Little Tang Mo finally couldn’t resist speaking up. "My mom is very busy."

It was an indirect rejection.

His classmate didn’t seem to mind. "Then we’ll come over when she’s not busy!"

A look of resignation crossed Little Tang Mo’s face.

Wu Qihua, watching from the side, couldn’t stop laughing. "They’re all smart kids. They know where to find the good food."

’Well, well, the little one has a great idea,’ she thought. ’In the future, when I have nothing to do and Su Li isn’t busy, I can come over and crash for dinner too.’

After the lively, chattering meal was over, the only girl among the six classmates—one who had been silently burying her face in her food the whole time—finally had a moment to speak.

"Tang Mo, I’m going to marry you and move into your house!"

The little girl’s belly was stuffed perfectly round. She wore her hair in two buns on her head, with soft bangs framing her big, blinking eyes. She was unbelievably cute.

She had been quiet all this time, but her first words were a bombshell.

She declared this with great conviction, waving her chubby little arms. The entire room fell silent for two seconds.

Then, a wave of stifled laughter broke the silence.

"Little Tongtong, do you know what ’marrying someone’ means?" Su Li was the first to recover, asking Tongtong as she glanced at Little Tang Mo’s suddenly beet-red face.

Tongtong patted her round little belly and nodded. "I know! It means being with Tang Mo forever, eating together, sleeping together, and making babies every day."

This was met with another burst of laughter.

Su Li desperately tried to hold back her laughter. "And why do you want to marry Tang Mo?"

"Because your cooking is delicious, Auntie," Little Tongtong replied instantly.
