When Little Yang Mei saw the market and the bustling crowds, her eyes instantly lit up.

She was five years old and had been living in an innocent daze, but the experiences of the past few days had forced her to grow up.

She didn’t believe they would actually take her home. Compared to the male driver and the woman, she trusted Little Tang Mo more. She believed what he’d said—that they were all going to be sold off to different places.

She had heard her mother and family talk about kidnappers before, about what to do if she ever met one.

Her mother had taught her to cry out to passersby for help. Trapped in the enclosed vehicle before, Little Yang Mei had no way to do that, and the idea hadn’t even crossed her mind.

But now, seeing the bustling crowd and glancing at the bald-headed woman gripping her hand tightly, Little Yang Mei suddenly gritted her teeth.

’I have to go home. I have to get help... After all these days, I’ve finally found people.’

As Little Yang Mei thought this, she watched the people passing by. When she saw a kind-looking old woman walk past, she suddenly threw her arms around the woman’s legs and screamed.

"Grandma, help me!"

The old woman was startled, but the bald-headed woman reacted even faster.

She yanked Little Yang Mei back, squatting down to give her two smacks on the bottom.

"You silly girl, what’s all this ’help me’ nonsense? Mommy just said no to that dress!"

Little Yang Mei shouted, "You’re not my mom! She’s not my mom! Grandma, please help me! She kidnapped me!"

The old woman looked doubtful. "Well... I..."

"You little brat, how dare you spout such nonsense!" The bald-headed woman scooped up Little Yang Mei. "Ma’am, don’t mind her. This kid makes a scene every day. See her clothes? She got them filthy throwing a tantrum just now."

The old woman nodded. "Oh, little girl, you have to listen to your mother!"

Little Yang Mei tried to speak again, but the bald-headed woman clamped a hand over her mouth. "Be a good girl and come home with me."

The onlookers who had stopped to watch lost interest and moved on. Just as the male driver saw the situation was handled and was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Little Tang Mo suddenly bolted.

Unbeknownst to anyone, he’d picked up a rock. He charged at a car parked a few meters away, raised his arm, and smashed it against the vehicle.

Little Tang Mo smashed it with all his might, actually managing to crack the front windshield.

Then, before anyone could react, he dragged the rock across the car’s body with a loud SCREECH, leaving a deep gash in the paint.

A middle-aged, slightly chubby woman was sitting in the passenger seat. She finally processed what was happening and let out a belated shriek.

"AHHH!"

At the same time, the car’s owner—a beefy man who had just parked to buy a pack of cigarettes—was walking back to his vehicle. When he saw what was happening, he looked like he was about to explode with rage.

"You little brat, you’re asking for it!" he roared, lunging forward.

Little Tang Mo feigned terror. "Dad!" he shrieked, turning and throwing himself at the male driver.

The male driver was completely dumbfounded. When Little Tang Mo had bolted, his first instinct was to grab him.

But upon seeing what the boy did, his next instinct was to run. Before he could act on it, however, Little Tang Mo had already run back, shouting "Dad!" at him.

The male driver’s mind was still reeling, but he knew this was bad.

He turned to run, but the car’s owner, furious that his precious vehicle had been damaged, grabbed him with lightning speed.

"Don’t even think about running!" The car owner’s hair was slicked back over a large, round belly. He had the typical look of a modern-day big boss, and despite his bulk, he was surprisingly agile.

Once he had a grip on the male driver, he had no intention of letting go.

Just then, the bald-headed woman realized she needed to run, but Little Tang Mo was too fast, wrapping his arms around her leg.

"Mom, I’m scared!"

Little Tang Mo’s antics had already drawn a crowd. When he cried out, all eyes immediately snapped to the bald-headed woman.

"What are you babbling about? I’m not your mother!"

The bald-headed woman tried to shake Little Tang Mo off and run, but she was quickly caught.

The woman in the car was the owner’s wife. She had watched the ’little brat’ smash their brand-new car while her husband dealt with the ’father’. The moment she heard there was a ’mother,’ she leaped out of the car without a second thought and lunged, grabbing a fistful of the bald-headed woman’s already sparse hair.

"Trying to get out of this? No way!"

The scene instantly devolved into chaos. Seizing the opportunity, Little Tang Mo grabbed Little Tongtong and Little Yang Mei, pulling them behind him for protection.

Then he burst into tears, wailing at the struggling pair, "Don’t hurt my daddy! Don’t hurt my mommy!"

The male driver and the bald-headed woman, knowing full well what they were, were desperate to escape. But the car owner wasn’t about to let them.

"This has nothing to do with us! He’s not my son!"

"He’s not my son either! Go after him, not me!"

The male driver and the bald-headed woman yelled, but no one believed them.

"Stop trying to deny it! You’re not getting away! You’re paying for our car!"

The male driver and the bald-headed woman grew frantic. Fearing the prolonged chaos would expose them, they struggled with all their might to break free. But by now, passersby who had witnessed the entire event had stepped in to help hold down the struggling pair.

As vicious as they were, the male driver and the bald-headed woman were no match for several people at once.

Little Tang Mo watched the tangled struggle, his face a mask of anxiety. He scanned the area, as if looking for something, though it wasn’t clear what.

Three minutes passed, but the male driver and the bald-headed woman still hadn’t managed to break free.

Catching sight of Little Tang Mo standing amidst the crowd, the pair looked at him with enough hatred to eat him alive.

Everything was a chaotic blur—the situation, the crowd—but their view of Little Tang Mo was perfectly, hatefully clear.

They had completely misjudged him. This kid wasn’t some timid little quail; he was a demon!

’To have such cunning at his age... All the tricks of the trade, passed down by so many of our predecessors, were completely useless against him!’

Seeing the crowd swell, the pair grew increasingly desperate. They made a split-second decision and pulled out hidden weapons.

Of course, people who lived on a knife’s edge like them were bound to have something for self-defense.

"Let go if you don’t want to die!"

"Get off! Get off me!"

The two of them simultaneously brandished folding daggers.

Neither the car owner, his wife, nor the helpful bystanders had expected them to be carrying knives.

In a moment of carelessness, the car owner’s arm was slashed, and blood welled up instantly.

"AHHH!"

Amidst the chaotic screams, the male driver and the bald-headed woman finally broke free.

"Get out of the way!"

"Everyone get the hell out of my way!"

Waving their knives to clear a path, they then turned their furious gaze on Little Tang Mo.

"’Good boy,’" they snarled. "’Come here!’"

They lunged toward Little Tang Mo, who was still in the crowd. Their minds screamed at them to run, but they couldn’t bear the thought of letting him get away!

Little Tang Mo grabbed Little Yang Mei and Little Tongtong and immediately took off, disappearing deeper into the crowd.

Amidst the chaotic screams, a powerful roar suddenly cut through the noise.

"Freeze! Police!"

Seeing the police officers appear, Little Tang Mo finally let out a sigh of relief.

’They’re finally here...’

Little Tang Mo watched as the color drained from the faces of the male driver and the bald-headed woman. They tried to flee, but the police were right behind them.

"They’re caught!"

One after another, the male driver and the bald-headed woman were apprehended. Little Tang Mo exhaled slowly, his legs giving out as he collapsed onto the steps of a nearby shop.

"Hey, are you okay, little guy?"

A young man in his early twenties, wearing glasses, rushed over to Little Tang Mo, panting as he spoke.
