Chapter 343 - 342: A Real Piece of Work
By the time she died in her past life, Ryan Sinclair was already married.
Both he and his wife only had high school educations, however, and couldn’t find good jobs. Add to that Ryan Sinclair’s crippling gambling addiction and restless nature, and he still hadn’t held down a stable job by the time she died.
She’d even heard he was in debt to loan sharks.
"Are you really Chloe Sinclair?"
Ryan Sinclair stared at the young woman, who had shot up in height over the past year and a half, his face etched with disbelief.
Chloe Sinclair rolled her eyes at him.
The Chloe Sinclair of today was not the same one from her past life who used to revolve around Ryan Sinclair.
She didn’t bother sparing his feelings and said bluntly, "What do you think?"
Ryan Sinclair was stunned for a long moment before he finally accepted that the young woman before him was the same sister who used to cower in his presence.
Soon, however, his expression twisted into a hideous sneer. He glared at Chloe Sinclair and demanded, "How dare you talk to me like that? Do you want me to tell Mom and Dad?"
Chloe Sinclair: "..."
The word "speechless" might as well have been written across her face. She didn’t say anything for a long time.
Ryan Sinclair thought Chloe Sinclair was scared and let out a cold snort. "If you treat me like this again, I’ll end you!"
In the past, he’d often used such threats whenever Chloe Sinclair disobeyed him.
And every time, Chloe would get scared of their father and obediently do his bidding.
The more Ryan Sinclair thought about it, the smugger he got, puffing out his chest and holding his head high.
Chloe Sinclair grew even more exasperated. She crossed her arms, a flash of contempt in her eyes. "You said it yourself. They’re *your* parents, not mine."
"Also, I’m not your sister anymore. Your sister is Nina Sinclair. If you need something, go to her. So please, stop bothering me. And tell your parents they’d better not show their faces around me, either. Or else..."
Chloe Sinclair didn’t finish her sentence, but Ryan Sinclair froze, his legs starting to tremble uncontrollably.
Chloe Sinclair saw it all clearly from where she stood. Without even bothering to lift her gaze, she said languidly, "The bathroom’s on the first floor, to the left."
Ryan Sinclair froze for a second before realizing Chloe Sinclair was mocking him.
He instantly shot her a look, his eyes murderous. "Chloe Sinclair, you’re asking for it!"
With that, he furiously stormed toward her.
They were only a few steps apart. Ryan Sinclair raised his hand as he advanced, thinking, ’No matter what, I have to teach Chloe Sinclair a lesson today.’
Chloe Sinclair, however, didn’t even look up. Just as the boy’s hand was about to strike, it was suddenly caught in the firm grip of a hand that looked deceptively frail.
Ryan Sinclair’s eyes flew wide open.
He stared at his hand, held in a vice-like grip, and scowled. "Let go, you bitch!"
Chloe Sinclair raised an eyebrow, her ink-black eyes staring right through him.
For a moment, Ryan Sinclair felt as if he’d been plunged into a bottomless abyss, unable to struggle, and a shiver wracked his entire body.
The next moment, Chloe put force into her grip and flung his hand away.
He cried out in pain, then whipped around and roared, "Chloe Sinclair, fuck your mother!"
"Say that again?"
When Chloe Sinclair heard Ryan Sinclair’s words, a sudden surge of fury erupted in her once-calm heart.
She effortlessly hauled Ryan Sinclair up from the ground, her grip instantly creasing his collar.
SLAP—
The resounding slap made several people stop in their tracks and turn to look.
Chloe Sinclair, however, didn’t seem to mind in the slightest.
"Want to say that again?"
Ryan Sinclair: "Fuc—"
SLAP—
Another resounding slap.
