Chapter 332: The Document Has Arrived
The driver glanced at the tall man beside Chloe Sinclair, his expression slightly resentful. He pulled his head back into the car, and with a SPUTTER, the tailpipe coughed out a plume of gray smoke.
Chloe Sinclair watched the taxi drive away, then couldn’t help but look back at Jasper Shaw.
Jasper Shaw coughed into his hand, trying to hide his embarrassment.
"Chloe, where are you headed? I’ll give you a ride."
Ian Winters had already finished work for the day, so Jasper had come to the airport alone.
Chloe Sinclair got into the passenger seat, buckled her seatbelt, and said, "Let’s head to the lab. I still have some data to finish processing."
Jasper Shaw nodded.
On the way, Jasper Shaw said, "The aid supplies for the children in the mountain regions have been delivered. And the Shaw Group has also set up a dedicated foundation to help children all over the country finish their schooling."
Hearing this, Chloe Sinclair’s eyes widened in surprise.
It wasn’t that she was surprised Jasper Shaw would do something like this.
After all, in her past life, she knew that Jasper Shaw had established dozens of foundations, both large and small, over the span of a decade, with their funding reaching into the tens of billions.
But right now, Jasper Shaw hadn’t fully entered the world of philanthropy yet. This foundation must have just been established.
Chloe Sinclair knew instantly who he had done it for.
For a moment, her heart was filled with a bittersweet ache.
Chloe Sinclair leaned against the passenger-side window, her nose tingling and her eyes growing warm. She couldn’t help but say, "Mr. Shaw, was I blind before? I never realized you were this wonderful."
Suddenly, Jasper Shaw pulled the car over to the side of the road. He turned his head, a hint of displeasure in his eyes. "Chloe, why would you say that?"
’Chloe is so wonderful, so dazzling. How could she ever have noticed me back then?’
"You’ve always been the best."
Jasper Shaw gently placed a kiss on Chloe Sinclair’s forehead—just a light touch before he pulled away.
But even so, the tips of his ears turned bright red.
Chloe Sinclair burst out laughing, and tears began to stream down her face in spite of herself.
She gently pinched Jasper Shaw’s ear and couldn’t help but say, "It’s a good thing you’re my boyfriend."
For a moment, Jasper Shaw was at a loss for words. Seeing her cry made his heart ache.
After he composed himself, Jasper Shaw suddenly said, "I’m very lucky, too."
’Lucky that their love went both ways.’
’Lucky that Chloe Sinclair could accept how boring he was.’
’Ever since they started dating, it felt like he hadn’t done anything for her at all.’
The thought made Jasper Shaw feel incredibly sorry.
Chloe Sinclair wiped away her tears and said, "Let’s get going."
The two of them drove to the laboratory.
In just one month, the laboratory had changed dramatically.
Outside the lab stood a large, transparent structure, and on the ground inside it was a large-scale experimental model of a maglev train.
"You haven’t seen this yet, have you?"
Seeing Jasper Shaw staring at the maglev model, Chloe Sinclair said, "Let me show you around."
With that, she led Jasper Shaw to the main control room and began her patient explanation.
"I’ve already sent the test files and proposal to the company, and the government approvals have come through. I believe it won’t be long before the maglev line can be built in Emberfall."
The procedures involved were incredibly cumbersome, and it had taken Chloe Sinclair a full several months to obtain the necessary permits.
Jasper Shaw, of course, already knew this.
However, this was the first time he had seen the maglev model in person.
Although the model wasn’t huge, when Chloe Sinclair activated it, his heart filled with shock and pride.
They discussed it for over half an hour, and at last, Jasper Shaw said with conviction, "Building this maglev line is about more than just convenient transportation."
’More importantly, it’s another piece of technology that will command respect on the international stage!’
