Chapter 295: Sports Work Team
Back in her real-world class.
The professor suddenly called Chloe Sinclair’s name.
Chloe Sinclair received a notification from the system, instantly exited it, and hurriedly stood up.
She glanced at the blackboard, and with the system’s help, she quickly gave a perfect answer that earned the professor’s praise.
"Good. I know there’s not much I can teach you, but try not to zone out in my class."
Chloe Sinclair nodded, but it wasn’t long before she lowered her head again, re-entering the system to continue studying the instruments.
"Oh, right, Eight."
Chloe Sinclair suddenly remembered something very important. "Didn’t you tell me I needed to complete an experiment to unlock the second-level laboratory? What is it?"
The system had never delayed in issuing tasks before.
Eight tilted its head, remaining silent for a long time.
After an unknown amount of time, Eight suddenly turned around. With a creak, it tilted its head up at a forty-five-degree angle and tried to clasp its hands behind its back. Unfortunately, its body was too round, and its hands just couldn’t meet.
Its big blue eyes flickered, as if embarrassed. In the end, it could only place its hands behind its rear, assume the air of a detached sage, and say in a deep voice, "The time is not yet right."
Chloe Sinclair tilted her head, looking at Eight, and couldn’t help but let out a snort of laughter.
It hadn’t been easy for Eight; it had gone to a lot of trouble just for those few words.
The way it ended up with its chubby hands tucked behind its bottom made it look just like a kindergartener.
Seeing this, Eight’s blue eyes flickered even more intensely, and even its mechanical voice sounded a little angry.
"Is it really that funny?"
’It’s just because this stupid body is too fat for me to get my hands behind my back!’
’Just wait until later...’
Eight didn’t finish the thought. It just huffed and vanished from the laboratory.
Chloe Sinclair called out a few times, but Eight didn’t respond, so she had no choice but to continue memorizing the instruments on her own.
Several days passed in a row, and Jasper Shaw didn’t come to the apartment again.
Chloe Sinclair didn’t mind.
Jasper, on the other hand, had started replying to all her messages instantly and calling her for half an hour every day.
Then he started initiating video chats.
After five or six days, following a busy week, Chloe Sinclair finally found some time to rest.
She got up at five to run laps around the track, only to find that Shawn Styles had arrived even earlier than she had today.
She was confused for a moment, but when she saw the look in Shawn Styles’s eyes, it all came flooding back.
She slapped her forehead, a flash of annoyance in her eyes, and hastily explained, "Don’t worry, I remember."
Shawn Styles looked at her with complete disbelief.
He wasn’t blind, after all.
Chloe Sinclair’s expression just now had clearly shown she’d forgotten all about it again.
"We need to be at the Emberfall Provincial Sports Team facility by eight."
Feeling guilty, Chloe Sinclair just nodded along to whatever Shawn Styles said.
An hour later, Chloe Sinclair had successfully lapped Shawn Styles. Wiping the sweat with the towel around her neck, she said, "I’m going to head back and pack a few things. Can you come get me at seven?"
Although she was Shawn Styles’s neighbor, Chloe Sinclair didn’t actually know which apartment he lived in.
Unless it was absolutely necessary, Chloe Sinclair didn’t make a point of finding out where other people lived.
Shawn Styles nodded quickly, wiping his neat, short hair.
The two said their goodbyes at the elevator.
Watching Chloe Sinclair’s retreating back, Shawn Styles took out his phone and called Coach Young.
"Coach, Chloe is on her way."
Emberfall Provincial Sports Team
In the center of the thousand-square-meter stadium stood seventy to eighty men.
To the side, there were slightly fewer women—only about thirty or forty of them.
They were all standing in a square formation, the entire group silent. Not a single person was speaking.
"Coach, why isn’t that person you mentioned here yet? The Winter Games are about to start. Can we please not let some completely unrelated person disrupt our training!"
