Adela Armstrong was used to throwing her weight around in the entertainment industry.

She had won Best Actress at a young age, so everyone in the industry had to show her some respect.

This was the first time her agent had ever scolded her like this.

For a moment, Adela opened her mouth, about to say something, but then she heard her agent say, "That’s all I have to say. You’d better watch yourself."

With that, the agent abruptly hung up.

She stared at the black screen of her phone, her expression grim. She raised her hand, ready to smash it.

But just as she looked up, she saw a small child peering around the doorway, watching her curiously.

"What are you looking at!"

The sight of the child’s exaggerated stage makeup turned her stomach. Her voice, sharp and piercing, startled the little one in the doorway.

The child, seemingly not expecting Adela Armstrong to be so fierce, quickly ran off and found Chloe Sinclair.

Chloe Sinclair was sitting on a bench resting when she felt something tug at her clothes from behind.

She turned her head and saw it was a small child.

"What’s wrong?"

Chloe Sinclair crouched down, her eyes full of gentleness.

The child’s nervousness immediately faded. They pursed their lips and shook their head.

Seeing that the child didn’t want to talk, Chloe Sinclair didn’t press, simply saying, "Go back to your class and find your teacher. The performance will be starting soon."

With that, she stood up, planning to go to the field to see if anyone needed help.

But as soon as she stepped out of the classroom, she saw Adela Armstrong walking over with a cold expression on her face.

Chloe Sinclair froze for a second. She gave Adela Armstrong a strange look, then decided to walk around her.

Seeing this, Adela grew even more irritated.

"Miss Sinclair, don’t you know to greet a senior when you see one?"

"Is this how the Sinclair Family raised you?"

Chloe Sinclair had only taken a few steps. Hearing this, she turned back, a confused look in her eyes that basically said, ’Is there something wrong with you?’

Adela Armstrong felt her blood pressure spike.

Because Chloe Sinclair’s expression was so innocent that it left her speechless.

"Ma’am, if there’s nothing else, I’m going to go help. If you’re done resting, you should also go see if anyone needs a hand."

With that, she left without a backward glance.

Adela Armstrong: "..."

When she arrived at the field, the stage was already set up.

Below the stage were benches for the students, as well as long benches brought by the village adults.

Chloe Sinclair glanced around and spotted Gabriel Sinclair in the crowd, checking to make sure the stage was stable.

"Gabriel, you should take a break."

Chloe Sinclair walked over and saw that Gabriel Sinclair’s forehead was covered in sweat. His slightly long hair was matted to his scalp, a far cry from his dazzling appearance under the stage lights.

Hearing her, Gabriel Sinclair looked up, but his eyes met the dark lens of a camera in the distance. He stiffened and shifted a little closer to Chloe Sinclair.

Chloe Sinclair: "?"

She followed Gabriel Sinclair’s gaze, saw the cameraman’s exasperated expression, and she instantly understood.

"Gabriel, stop hiding. They’ve already filmed everything they need to."

Looking utterly miserable, Gabriel Sinclair slowly stepped out from behind Chloe Sinclair.

Chloe Sinclair found it amusing.

After all, her brother would later become famous for his diligence—he could go half a month without showering for the sake of his work. ’Why is he so hung up on his ’idol image’ now?’

Chloe Sinclair glanced at the stage and saw that everyone had left. She said, "Gabriel, the school has heated up some water. You should go back to the dorm and take a shower."

She remembered that Gabriel Sinclair had a performance as well.

Gabriel Sinclair glanced at his watch and nodded repeatedly. "Okay, then can you help me keep an eye on the students from my class?"

Chloe Sinclair nodded readily in agreement.
