Chapter 202 - 142: Promoting Douyin (Part 3)
It instantly clicked for Wang Yue. Wasn’t that exactly what this Douyin app was for? The videos she had just been scrolling through were all about sharing food. If the app’s user base grew, then the more people shared content, the more people would watch it. It would allow people who rarely left their homes to experience the sights and cuisines of different places.
It was like a snowball, getting bigger and bigger as it rolled. It was entirely possible that Douyin could become the largest short-video social app on the market in the future.
"So, Mr. Su, you mean we should use Douyin to promote our Hanfu!"
Su Chen nodded, then shook his head.
Wang Yue was stunned. ’Is he agreeing or disagreeing?’
"You can certainly promote it, but how are you going to do it? Just take a few pictures of the Hanfu and write some descriptive text?"
Wang Yue nodded sheepishly. That was, in fact, exactly what she had been thinking.
Seeing this, Su Chen didn’t call her short-sighted. After all, she had only just encountered the app, so her thinking hadn’t fully expanded yet. Of course she couldn’t keep up with his pace—he was the one who had come up with the concept in the first place!
"They say a beautiful face can cause a lot of trouble. Have you ever considered having a stunningly beautiful woman wear the Hanfu to showcase it?"
"I get it!" Wang Yue exclaimed, jumping to her feet in excitement.
This scene left Su Qingya and the other two completely dumbfounded. Wang Yue was known for being an ice queen; she rarely spoke, let alone laughed.
In all the time they’d known her, they had only seen her this worked up a handful of times.
"Mr. Su, your insight is incredible! This app, Douyin, is definitely going to change the way people live. Maybe the next big trend will be in short videos!"
Su Chen calmly waved his hand, signaling her not to get so worked up. "You can start by trying to shoot some short videos with the Hanfu and see what kind of response you get. After all, the app was just released, and a lot of people haven’t figured out its potential yet. You’d be one of the first to take the plunge."
Wang Yue nodded at his words, then called Su Qingya and the other two over. They started discussing it right there in front of Su Chen.
They had only exchanged a few sentences when the door to the private room was pushed open.
The butler came in, leading several waiters who were carrying platters of fragrant, steaming dishes.
Smelling the spicy, savory aroma, even Su Chen couldn’t help but swallow.
Once all the dishes had been served, Su Chen cleared his throat and said, "Ahem, let’s eat first. You can go back and work out the details later..."
Before Su Chen could even finish his sentence, the women had all taken their seats, chopsticks in hand, staring at him expectantly.
Seeing their eager gazes, Su Chen smacked his lips. "What are you all looking at me for? Dig in!"
"Mmm, this boiled fish is delicious!"
"This spicy chicken is so flavorful! The meat is tender and has the perfect springy texture!"
For a while, the private room was filled with nothing but praise for the food. Even Wang Yue was no exception, her chopsticks never stopped moving.
Thirty minutes to wait for the food, ten minutes to devour it.
That perfectly described Su Chen and the others. Seven or eight substantial Sichuan dishes had all vanished into their stomachs. They were all sweating profusely as they ate, constantly hissing as the numbing spice took hold of their lips.
They ordered two pitchers of fruit juice from the butler, which helped everyone feel much better.
When the bill came, Su Chen’s jaw dropped. It was exactly three thousand yuan, no more, no less. But the money was well spent. The flavor, the quality of the ingredients—everything was excellent. It was, without a doubt, the best Sichuan cuisine Su Chen had ever had.
"Mr. Su, would you like to come visit our startup center?"
Su Chen shook his head slightly. "I’ll pass."
Then he turned to Su Qingya and said, "Wait a few days until I’m done with my business, and then you’ll come home with me."
"Okay, Brother!" Su Qingya knew that this was the reason Su Chen had come to the university today.
"Well, I’m off then!" He gave a wave and, under the watchful eyes of the women, got into a Rolls-Royce parked by the curb.
Once the car had merged into traffic, Qin Nan sidled up to Su Qingya. "Qingya, what does your brother do? He’s so rich, traveling around in a Rolls-Royce!"
Although they had all shared bits and pieces about their families, they had never pried for details. Now that a "big shot" had appeared—and he was their best friend’s brother, no less—who wouldn’t be curious?
Even Wang Yue cast a curious glance in her direction.
Su Qingya shrugged. "To be honest, I don’t know what my brother does either. I just know he’s very rich!"
Hearing this, the other two didn’t press the matter further. As for saying something foolish like wanting to become Su Qingya’s sister-in-law, no one voiced the thought. They all knew that a man like Su Chen was out of their league.
"Yuanyuan, are we heading back to research that Douyin app now?"
Wang Yue was silent for a moment, then turned to Su Qingya. "Qingya, can you get in touch with that game studio that got screwed over by Director Li?"
At her words, Su Qingya and the others froze for a second before it dawned on them: Wang Yue was preparing to make a move against Director Li.
"I can!"
"Then contact them. While you’re at it, ask around and see if there have been any other similar incidents."
"Who knows how much dirty work our dear Director Li has done from his position. It’s time he paid the price," Wang Yue said coldly, her gaze fixed in the direction of the startup center.
