Having said that, Su Chen remembered there was one other person with them. He turned to a man watching them curiously from nearby and asked, "And who is that?"

"Lu Zi, come over here! This is the Mr. Su I’m always telling you about!"

"Lu?" Su Chen instantly recognized the name. This had to be the top-tier young star who had exploded in popularity over the last two years.

Many people online speculated that he came from a powerful family. After all, someone who could casually mention on the CCTV New Year’s Eve Gala that it only took him ten minutes to get home couldn’t be just anybody.

"Hello, Mr. Su," Lu Zi said, his tone poised and respectful.

"Hello."

They exchanged a simple handshake, officially making their acquaintance.

The group chatted for a little while longer before a staff member came to remind them that the high-speed train was about to depart. They were told to return to their seats, so everyone stopped talking.

Everyone mostly kept to themselves during the journey. The main reason was the reverse herringbone layout of the seats, which made it inconvenient to chat with one another.

The trip from the Imperial Capital to Zheng Island only took a little over an hour. It felt like they arrived at the Zheng Island High-Speed Rail Station in no time.

"Mr. Su, shall we head out together?"

Hearing Chen He’s invitation, Su Chen quickly waved his hands in refusal. "I’d better not go out with you. I’m afraid I’ll get mobbed by your fans."

Su Chen was aware that the three of them were on a very popular variety show, so they naturally had a ton of fans. Combined with the fact that their itinerary had been leaked, he had no intention of wading into that chaotic mess.

Chen He and the others understood Su Chen’s concerns. After a quick farewell, they followed a staff member toward a designated private exit. Meanwhile, Su Chen and Jiang Hui ambled casually toward the public exit.

Just as Su Chen had predicted, as he walked out from the platform area, he saw that the main station hall was packed with people. They were holding up all sorts of banners and shouting at the top of their lungs.

"This is insane..." Jiang Hui commented, looking at the scene. He had to admire Su Chen’s decision from earlier.

"This is pretty normal, I suppose. At least they’re not obsessed to the point where they’d live or die for them!" Su Chen recalled his own school days, when some fans would ignore even their own parents’ well-being to chase after their idols.

After watching for a moment, Su Chen signaled to Jiang Hui, and they headed out of the station.

"Sir."

He had just stepped out of the station exit when he was spotted by Chen Fei and Xiao Peng, who had been waiting for him.

Su Chen gave a slight nod. Once he was in the car with the two of them, he asked, "Xiao Peng, what’s the status of the things we arranged?"

"The company has been registered. It’s called Abyss Technology, which alludes to the saying ’a hidden dragon in the abyss.’" As he spoke, Xiao Peng retrieved a folder from a box in the car and handed it to Su Chen. It contained the company’s registration documents.

Su Chen took the folder, gave it a quick glance, and handed it back. He had complete faith in Xiao Peng’s competence.

"Have the people Pei Rang arranged for arrived?"

"The mid- to low-level staff are already in place, and the campus has begun operations."

"By the way, Sir, the research institute is almost finished. We’re in the process of procuring the equipment now. We expect it to be ready for use in about a week!"

"It’s already finished?" Su Chen was somewhat surprised by the news. He hadn’t expected it to be built so quickly.

He had come on this trip thinking he would have to push the construction team to speed up, but it turned out they were already done.

"Sir, would you like to go see the research base now?" Xiao Peng asked, a hopeful note in his voice. This was his chance to have Su Chen review his work.

Su Chen agreed with a nod, without a moment’s hesitation.

"Let’s go straight to the research base."
