It was already April, and the system’s blind box had been updated. ’I wonder what surprise it has in store this time.’

"Huh?" Su Chen was a little baffled when he saw the system’s blind box. The price column was completely blank.

’Don’t tell me I have to fill it in myself?’ Su Chen wondered. He tentatively typed in the number 10,000!

A second later, the system displayed a confirmation prompt. Su Chen saw it and quickly hit cancel.

It was just as Su Chen had suspected. After asking the system, he learned the reason. Apparently, because it was April Fool’s Day, the system had rolled out a special, one-time-only mode for him.

After contemplating for a moment, Su Chen went ahead and entered one hundred million, then clicked confirm.

The purchased blind box flickered a few times in the system space. Su Chen had expected it to burst open like a firework, just like before, but there were no special effects this time. The blind box simply opened, and its contents were sent directly to his inventory.

His anticipation instantly deflated by half.

"Hmm?" When Su Chen saw the item in his inventory, he shot to his feet.

He muttered to himself that he’d really hit the jackpot this time.

"Boss, what’s wrong?" Raymond and Chen Fei asked, quickly getting to their feet.

"Hahaha! It’s nothing. Just thought of something happy." Su Chen made no attempt to hide the smile on his face, waving a hand to signal for them not to be nervous before sitting back down.

But his slightly trembling leg and the persistent smile on his face were enough to reveal how stirred he truly was.

Just now, Su Chen had gotten an island from the blind box. It was a small island, a full sixty square kilometers, with a rather unique location: in South America, off the coast of Venezuela—the very country known for having the world’s largest oil reserves.

The island was a full six hundred nautical miles from the Venezuelan coastline. It was virtually uninhabited—a deserted island, really—visited only by the occasional adventurous tourist.

The most crucial part was the information provided by the system: the island’s oil resources were incredibly abundant. Even the sea around the island held vast oil reserves, amounting to a full fifty million tons of crude oil.

The mere thought of such enormous oil reserves made Su Chen’s leg tremble even more intensely.

Raymond and Chen Fei exchanged a look, both noticing Su Chen’s unusual behavior. But they had a tacit understanding not to ask. If Su Chen wanted them to know, he would tell them.

Soon, Su Chen reined in his excitement. His leg stopped shaking, and the smile on his face faded considerably.

"Raymond, do you know..." Su Chen was just about to ask Raymond how familiar he was with Venezuela when the phone in his pocket rang.

He glanced at the caller ID. It was Arthur.

’It’s over already? It’s only been two hours,’ Su Chen muttered before answering the phone.

Sure enough, Arthur was calling to ask his whereabouts. He said the gathering on his end had wrapped up for now and wanted to know if Su Chen was returning to Manhattan.

Of course Su Chen wanted to return to Manhattan. What was the point of staying on Long Island? Besides, he still needed to figure out the details of the island he got from the blind box; he didn’t have time for scheming and power plays with Arthur and his group.

After learning Su Chen’s approximate location, Arthur noted it was a bit far from the beach house they were at. He left him with a "stay put and wait for me" before hanging up.

Less than five minutes later, Su Chen saw a helicopter flying toward them, landing steadily a short distance away.

After Su Chen boarded the helicopter, he discovered that not only was Arthur on board, but John and Abdullah were there as well.

After exchanging greetings, Su Chen put on a headset, closed his eyes, and started reviewing the information about the island in his system inventory.

Arthur watched Su Chen resting with his eyes closed, a thoughtful expression flickering in his gaze. Beside him, John and Abdullah were also looking at Su Chen with smiles, though no one could tell what either of them was thinking.
