Chapter 100 - 82: Obtaining a Trump Card (3)
Meanwhile, Flower’s gentle voice reached Mo Ning’s ears:
"This is a gift Lord Martin left especially for you. It’s called the Radiant Spirit Lamp, and it has been filled with three drops of Radiant Spirit Oil.
"Once lit, the Spirit Lamp will burn through one drop of Spirit Oil per hour.
"While the Spirit Oil is burning, the spiritual aura emitted by the Spirit Lamp has an extremely powerful stimulating effect on both the soul and the mind.
"If you meditate during this time, you can not only rapidly increase your Spiritual Strength, but also develop your Spiritual Potential to a certain degree."
Mo Ning was incredibly thrilled to hear this.
He had never heard of the Radiant Spirit Lamp or the Radiant Spirit Oil, and there was no record of them in Dawa’s Grocery List either.
But this was an item left by a Third Level Wizard; its effect on increasing Spiritual Strength was bound to be beyond imagination.
As for "developing Spiritual Potential," his heart began to race, and a fiery excitement surged within him.
Everyone knew that the better one’s Spiritual Talent, the more effective their Meditation would be.
For example, Sitt, serial number 001, might see his Spiritual Strength increase by 0.03 points after a month of Meditation. Meanwhile, Leia, who had the lowest serial number, might only manage an increase of 0.01 points in the same amount of time.
This was the difference in Spiritual Potential—the same amount of time and the same effort could yield results that differed by severalfold.
Spiritual Items that could develop one’s Spiritual Potential were something that not even Third Level Apprentices would dare to dream of, let alone new recruits.
And Lord Martin was a powerhouse on the level of a former dean. Anything that slipped through his fingers would be an incredible treasure.
Soon, Mo Ning entered the bedroom.
The bedroom was quite spacious as well, at least forty square meters by his estimation.
The floor was also covered with a thick wool carpet, the same material as the one in the living room, only a slightly darker shade.
The furnishings were extremely simple: just a bed, a large wardrobe, a wooden table, and two wooden chairs. The whole room felt just as sparse as the other.
Mo Ning’s gaze swept across the room and immediately locked onto an oil lamp on the wooden table.
This was undoubtedly the Radiant Spirit Lamp that Flower had mentioned.
But contrary to its name, "Radiant," the lamp looked rather dilapidated.
Its bronze base was covered in fine spots of oxidation, and the silver-white stem had lost its luster, bearing the weathered look of an object that had endured the long passage of time.
Mo Ning studied it curiously for a moment before asking, "Does the Radiant Spirit Oil have any side effects?"
It was common knowledge that the stronger an item’s Spiritual Power, the stronger its side effects usually were.
The most classic example was Magic Potions that increased Spiritual Strength. The Moonlight Potion only provided an increase of 0.02 to 0.03 points, and its side effects were almost negligible.
The Moonlight Frost Dew Potion could grant an increase of 0.07 to 0.08 points, but its side effects were much more significant. Taking it would cause one’s body temperature to drop for a week, requiring measures to stay warm.
If the Spirit Oil’s side effects were too severe, Mo Ning planned to hold off on using it for now.
But Flower gave an answer that delighted him:
"The Radiant Spirit Lamp is a tool designed to be used with the Radiant Spirit Oil. It can separate and absorb the negative Spiritual Power contained within the Spirit Oil, so burning the oil has no side effects whatsoever."
Mo Ning was stunned.
’No side effects?’
’It’s that amazing!’
He glanced at the oil lamp again and had a sudden realization. "This lamp absorbed the negative Spiritual Power, which is why it looks so old and worn now."
This was undoubtedly another of the former dean’s "masterpieces."
Mo Ning silently chanted in his heart, ’Praise the powerhouse!’
This trip into the Great White Birch Forest had yielded far more than he had ever expected.
He couldn’t help but recall the postscript Lord Martin had left: *I sincerely hope that in the distant lands you explore, you will find a splendor that is uniquely your own.*
Those words had been perfectly fulfilled.
