Chapter 170 - 103: Harvest and a Maiden’s Stolen Kiss
The Dazed Girl picked up a vial of the Magic Potion, cradling it carefully in her palms as if it were a fragile treasure. "This is the first Magic Potion of my life. I’m going to treasure it forever."
The novice shop didn’t sell Magic Potions at all, so she thought she wouldn’t get one until she was promoted to a First Level Apprentice. She never expected to get one so soon.
Her strange logic made Mo Ning’s face twitch. He was tempted to say, ’Magic Potions are meant for drinking,’ but he held his tongue.
’Oh well, as long as she’s happy.’
Mo Ning’s gaze shifted to the two remaining items on the stone table.
One was a thumb-sized, hollow metal sphere. Its surface was etched with intricate runes that gave off a faint silver glow in the light.
The other was a miniature, circular metal shield, only about the size of a thumbnail. A ring was attached to the back, allowing it to be worn on a finger.
They were both Witchcraft Items.
The first was the [Capture Net].
Back during the incident in the Steel Bamboo Forest, the Combat Puppet had cast the Level Zero Witchcraft, [Metal Binding Technique], binding the two traitorous Dark Wizards as tightly as rice dumplings.
This item was essentially a weaker version of the [Metal Binding Technique]. It wasn’t as powerful as the original, but it had the advantage of being small and portable.
Mo Ning had seen information about it in [Dawa’s Grocery List]. It sold for 35 Black Tower Points and could be used five times.
Of course, that was assuming it wasn’t destroyed.
The second was the [Magic Shield Ring].
The grocery list had a description for this as well; it sold for 40 Black Tower Points.
By activating the ring with Spiritual Power, the Spiritual Power contained within the item would instantly draw upon a large amount of Magic Power to project a Magic Shield that could be controlled at will.
The Magic Shield lasted for five seconds, and after three uses, the Spiritual Power within the ring would be completely depleted.
Mo Ning placed the two small items into his Casting Belt, feeling quite satisfied.
Both items were extremely practical. They would likely prove useful in this wilderness survival assessment, and they also sparked a few new ideas in his mind.
But not now. He reached up to rub the space between his eyebrows and said in a low voice, "I need to get some sleep. You two should rest as well."
Earlier, to kill Uma, he had unleashed a burst of Thunder Power that bordered on a Level Zero Witchcraft. The mental strain had been excessive, and now he felt a slight, stabbing pain in his head, as if a few needles were pricking his brain.
In a situation like this, the best remedy was sleep.
Reina was a little baffled.
’It hasn’t been that long since this morning. What on earth did Mr. Mo Ning do to get this exhausted?’
Anya simply said, "Oh," then added gently, "Go on and sleep."
Mo Ning strode to a corner of the room and pushed open a wooden door set into the stone wall.
Inside was a narrow storage room, where several perfectly square blocks were stacked neatly on a wooden shelf.
Each block was only about the size of a palm, folded with such crisp edges that they looked like carefully wrapped presents.
These were actually sleeping bags.
The sleeping bags looked brand new, without a single crease, and exuded a faint floral scent.
Mo Ning turned to his teammates, a faint smile playing on his lips. "I almost forgot. These self-expanding Spiritual Sleeping Bags are part of the prize, too. We can take them with us when we leave."
The two young women’s faces immediately lit up with delight.
Spiritual Sleeping Bags were great items; they sold for 20 Black Tower Points in the shop.
Mo Ning took one of the sleeping bags from the shelf. He pinched a ribbon, gave it a gentle tug, and then infused it with a wisp of his Spiritual Power.
An invisible force seeped deep into the fibers of the Spiritual Materials. The sleeping bag unfurled on its own as the material began to absorb air, inflating like a balloon.
What had been a layer as thin as a fingernail swelled to the thickness of a fist in the span of two breaths.
He reached out and touched it; it was surprisingly soft, yet still supportive.
Mo Ning then took a regular quality [Calming Ointment] from his Casting Belt, scooped out a little with his fingertip, and spread a thin layer on the space between his eyebrows and on his temples.
Then, he quickly crawled into the sleeping bag and zipped it up, leaving only his head exposed.
Although sleeping in front of the two young women was a bit awkward, he couldn’t afford to worry about that now.
He closed his eyes and expertly activated the [Snake Sleep Technique].
The sound of his peculiar breathing echoed softly in the stone room—a steady, unhurried rhythm. Within a dozen seconds, he had entered a deep sleep.
Anya and Reina exchanged a look, both of them detecting something in the strange, faint fragrance that now permeated the air.
Reina mouthed something, her lips silently forming two words: "Magic Potion."
Anya nodded gently.
Their gazes met for an instant, and they read the same question in each other’s eyes: ’Where did Mr. Mo Ning get so many Magic Potions?’
The Sanctuary fell silent.
The only sounds were the soft whisper of warm air drifting through the stone room and the steady, deep sound of Mo Ning’s breathing.
Anya’s gaze drifted from Mo Ning’s face to the "window" on the stone wall.
It was less a window and more some kind of Witchcraft construct.
It projected the outside scenery onto a flat section of the wall, the image so astonishingly clear it could be mistaken for reality.
Reina sat in a daze for a while, growing bored.
She stood up, opened the wooden door, and took out another sleeping bag.
She wasn’t actually sleepy; she just wanted to try out the new prize. She was, after all, a girl brimming with curiosity.
She laid the sleeping bag out in another corner of the room and, imitating Mo Ning, infused it with a wisp of her Spiritual Power. The bag quickly expanded to its full size.
