Chapter 122 - 89: It Feels So Good to Latch Onto a Thick Thigh
"It wasn’t until I entered the Steel Bamboo Plantation that I suddenly remembered seeing a Holy Emblem in a book about the Forbidden Sect.
"These symbols bore a strong resemblance to certain elements in that Holy Emblem, which is how I confirmed that Kanda was a spy sent by the Dark Wizards."
Aya studied the patterns etched in red light for a few seconds, his gaze slowly tracing the twisted symbols.
His brow furrowed slightly before slowly relaxing, as if he were trying to identify something familiar.
Then, he nodded lightly. "It does look a bit like the Holy Emblem of the Eternal Earth Evil God."
Eternal Earth Evil God was the academy’s name for it.
Followers of the Forbidden Sect, however, called it the Master of Eternal Earth.
That statement suggested the Second Level Apprentice had likely had many dealings with the Forbidden Sect.
Aya’s expression darkened, and his lips twitched as he muttered something under his breath.
But in the silent plantation, every word reached Mo Ning’s ears with perfect clarity.
"Not again... The damned Evil Angel Alliance..."
Mo Ning’s eyes glinted.
’Evil Angel Alliance!’
He seared the name into his mind.
He had read many books about Dark Wizard Organizations in the Royal Library but had never heard of the "Evil Angel Alliance."
Judging from the word "Alliance," it seemed to be a coalition of multiple sects—the Eternal Earth Evil God’s was just one of them.
Moreover, judging from the Junior Deacon’s expression, this Dark Wizard Organization—the Evil Angel Alliance—seemed to be a handful even for the academy.
At that moment, Aya looked up and glanced at Mo Ning and Anya, his tone as cold as ever.
"Alright. The information you provided was... passably useful. I’ll try to apply to the academy for some Black Tower Points as a reward for you."
Mo Ning began to grumble internally again. ’This is clearly vital information. What does he mean, "passably useful"?’
’He obviously still has a problem with Anya, so he’s deliberately downplaying the value of our contribution.’
’I even suspect Aya won’t apply for the reward at all.’
’There’s no one else here. Even if he takes all the credit for himself, who’s going to know?’
’And look at how he phrased it—"try to apply." Later on, all he has to do is casually say, "the application was denied," and that’ll be the end of it.’
’He’s a Second Level Apprentice and a Junior Deacon. What’s it to him to bully a couple of newcomers?’
’As they say, profit is a powerful motivator. For the sake of some Black Tower Points, he has every reason to do it.’
Mo Ning stood still.
Anya, however, was more direct.
The Noble Lady simply raised her left hand, revealing the emerald [Secret Technique Whisper] ring, her voice calm and natural:
"Mister Aya, an elder in my family is a prospective member of the Rose Council and also a Third Level Apprentice."
She paused deliberately before adding with a little more emphasis:
"Her name is Nasha. After something this major has happened, I really must contact my Auntie Nasha."
Mo Ning gave a silent cheer.
’Smart!’
’She knew to play her trump card at the critical moment to protect her own interests.’
’And she did it so cleverly—it wasn’t a threat or an argument, just a casual remark: "I have to contact my Auntie Nasha."’
’It sounded like a statement of fact, but it was really a declaration: *Mister Aya, I have powerful connections. Don’t even think about messing with us or cheating us out of our reward.*’
Aya’s reaction was quite interesting.
The arrogance on his face vanished in an instant.
His eyes widened slightly, a clear hint of apprehension flashing in their depths, and he blurted out:
"You’re talking about Nasha, the ’Sharp-Horned Whip Demon’?"
Anya’s tone took on a corrective edge. "Yes, my Auntie Nasha does have that nickname, but she doesn’t like being called that."
When Mo Ning heard the four words "Sharp-Horned Whip Demon," a strange image instantly popped into his head:
A beautiful, tall woman with delicate features, who bore a striking resemblance to Anya, but she was dressed in a tight black leather outfit that traced her breathtaking curves.
She held a black leather whip in her hand, its tip cracking through the air in vicious arcs, while a smirk played on her lips.
He blinked, banishing the image from his mind.
As the old saying goes: people get the wrong names all the time, but they never get the wrong nickname.
Judging from the word "Demon" in her nickname, this Third Level Apprentice named Nasha was clearly a very difficult woman to deal with.
Aya’s expression shifted several times, his pupils showing unconcealed apprehension.
His tone had softened considerably. "Alright, I get it."
Anya deliberately stroked the surface of her ring and added, "I’ve already told my Auntie Nasha what happened."
Aya glanced at the [Secret Technique Whisper] on the Noble Lady’s hand, and his expression soured.
The apprentice was silent for a moment before waving a hand. "You two can leave now. I’ll take care of what comes next."
Compared to his earlier arrogance and contempt, his tone and phrasing were a world apart.
Anya replied politely, "Then we’ll be troubling you, Mister Aya."
Then she turned gracefully and walked toward the gate.
Mo Ning trailed behind her like a loyal attendant, the same harmless expression fixed on his face.
With his back to the Second Level Apprentice, the corners of his mouth lifted in a slight smile.
’He had every reason to believe that with the Rose Council now involved, those Black Tower Points were as good as theirs.’
