Chapter 92 - 79: Geniuses Are Omnipotent

The Female Apprentice withdrew her gaze and sighed. ’Perhaps geniuses really can do anything.’

Nasha looked up at the orbs of light floating in the sky.

A third of the newcomers still hadn’t rested, continuing to study diligently under the Magic Energy Lamps.

A satisfied smile touched the corners of the Female Apprentice’s lips. ’That’s more like it!’

A while ago, almost everyone had been going to bed before midnight, a sight she found quite irritating.

’I only sleep four hours a night. What right do you all have to sleep so much?’

Nasha watched for a little longer, then closed her eyes.

She planned to rest for two hours.

「At three in the morning.」

DONG—

An ethereal tolling of a bell suddenly rang inside Nasha’s mind.

This was the Sub-zero Level Trick—the Mind Clock.

Simply put, it was the Witchcraft version of an alarm clock. Not only could it wake a person at a set time, but it could also rapidly dispel drowsiness, allowing one to instantly awaken from a state of grogginess.

Simple, but extremely practical.

It was also a Trick that the vast majority of Apprentices learned.

The Sharp-eared Female Apprentice spread her arms and stretched her limbs, then habitually glanced toward the largest orb of light.

She took only a single glance before leaping from her chair in shock.

Nasha’s emerald eyes flew wide. "What the hell! Where did that kid go?"

Inside residence 804, shown within the orb of light, there was no sign of anyone. A few sheets of unorganized scale pattern paper were scattered on the desk.

Mo Ning was gone!

The Guiding Ring was gone too!

An irrepressible trace of fear flashed in the Female Apprentice’s beautiful eyes.

She knew all too well how much her mentor, Yi Lin, valued Mo Ning.

If something had really happened to Mo Ning, she would definitely have to face her mentor’s wrath.

Although she had never seen her mentor truly angry, just imagining it sent a chill down her spine.

Nasha quickly suppressed her fear. Her mind raced, and she soon came up with an idea—ask the Witch Spirit for help.

Although the academy had so many people that it was impossible for the Witch Spirit to monitor everyone, it would usually be the first to detect any anomalies that occurred within the academy grounds.

The Female Apprentice activated her Apprentice’s Magic Ring and asked urgently, "Witch Spirit, where did Mo Ning go?"

The Witch Spirit’s characteristic mechanical voice immediately replied:

"Your permission is insufficient."

Nasha’s mind went blank for a moment.

’Are you kidding me?’

’I’m a senior Third Level Apprentice who’s been toiling away in this academy for decades, and my permission level is lower than a newcomer’s?’

’Damn it! Where on earth did that kid go?’

However, she also read another meaning in that sentence—Mo Ning was probably safe; he had just gone somewhere she had no authority to know about.

This realization made her let out a huge sigh of relief.

Nasha thought for a moment and rephrased her question. "Witch Spirit, show me the footage of Mo Ning leaving his residence."

To avoid being shut down with "insufficient permission" again, she quickly added, "I am a Supervisor appointed by the academy. I have the right to know Mo Ning’s general whereabouts."

The Witch Spirit fell silent for a moment, as if judging her permission level.

Finally, the mechanical voice sounded again:

"Permission check passed. Displaying relevant footage."

The next second, a Light Curtain unfolded in mid-air, and a three-dimensional image appeared.

Mo Ning was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding an exquisite brooch in his left hand.

The brooch was exceptionally unique in design, glowing faintly within the Light Curtain. It was obviously no ordinary object.

Then, a shocking scene unfolded.

The surface of the floor-to-ceiling window suddenly rippled like overlapping waves, as if the glass had truly turned into a liquid surface.

Mo Ning whispered, "How amazing," then stepped into the ripples with an excited expression, disappearing in an instant.

Nasha was completely dumbfounded.

But she was well-traveled and knowledgeable enough to quickly figure something out: Mo Ning had most likely received an incredible reward from some task.

Namely, that brooch.

It was very likely a spatial item, something that could be understood as a key to a hidden door.

The Female Apprentice couldn’t help but mutter, her voice laced with a complex, indescribable emotion, "I hate geniuses!"

She would never admit that she hated how geniuses always managed to get their hands on such enviable treasures.

Like that priceless spatial item, for example.

She merely insisted that she hated how these people always caused such headaches.

’Can’t you just stay quietly in your residence and write your thesis? Did you have to pull a disappearing act in the middle of the night?!’

’So infuriating!’
