Frontier Lord Starts Out With a Population of 0

The fourth day of the family vacation, followed by a tour with Colm and Mahatti.

The Isetters have a total of 25 people, including Colm... all of them coming to Ilk Village.

It will be a form of pulling out 25 people, but Eldan won't give me permission if they want to... we will move with us when we return to the village of Ilk.

In Ilke Village, they mainly take care of horses... and I'm sure you'll be relieved to have the skill to successfully control the horses that have gone wild.

Arnah, who could not see that the horse was scared, smiled that he could be left to Colm, who sees more than himself... Senai, Aihan, Aima, Francis and Ellie are happy to have more friends.

Eldan and Camarotz were also delighted that the Isetter family would be the best place to play if they wanted to... but they were delighted to do an interview with Colm to find out what was different between them and me and why the small canine species were active in the village of Ilke.

And the answer that came out of Colm's mouth...

For some reason, Death is the right person.

It was called.

Correct man, that's what Colm used to say on that exchange... Arner said that the Dogs in Irk Village sometimes called me that.

When asked what the right person means and what it means, Colum said,

"The right person is the right person."

After all, I didn't really understand what the word meant.

If I were to take it honestly, it might mean "people who don't lie" or "honest people"... but I was hiding things from Senai and I tried not to think as much as I could, but there was something dark behind it... it wasn't really the right people.

If Arnah's soul had been appraised, it would have glowed red... and where the hell was the right person around me...?

No matter how many times you ask around, no matter how many questions you change, Colm won't give you a clear answer... at least because it's not a bad word, and it doesn't seem to be pursued any further.

... even though there were some places that weren't a little refreshing like that, it was a pleasure to have more residents, and it was also very thankful that the handsome stablekeeper (Umayaban) came to Ilk Village... We decided not to think any deeper, and we were delighted and welcomed that Colum and the others would come honestly.

The number of army horses that Arnah bought at that market eventually stood at eight, including the horse that turned into the horse.

If you go out like that, your value as an army horse will decline, or the buyer won't be able to buy it... but Colm has declared that he will take good care of the horse and make it work... and that seems to have been the decision to buy it.

In fact, Colum was doing a great job riding that horse on that spot... Although he liked horses and knew them well, he actually started breeding them very recently. As Arner, who was inexperienced in various aspects, he seemed to be going to learn and teach Colum about horses... he was quickly taught how to distinguish horses and how to forgive them in the stables of the Eldan Mansion.

... by the way, Juuha might have paid for that horse.

Originally, I would have paid for a particularly expensive army horse, but when I looked at the invoice, I was going to scream like a golden scream. Zhuuuuha said that I don't have it now, and it seems that the benefits I receive from Eldan have also disappeared into payments everywhere... That's why I would cry to Eldan that I can't make such a expensive payment after 10 years... As a result, Eldan has replaced or exchanged payments for me.

Even though that happened, Juuha was hiding it and saying to the people around him, "I'm like buying Diaz a really expensive army horse." Well, yeah, it was a promise to get paid instead of getting along, so I think you should do whatever you want...

... well, that day was so noisy and hasty... and then the next day.

We were on a patrol in Mahatti territory with Eldan...

It was named after touring around the territory and introducing tourist attractions... but from where it actually went, it seems that Eldan planned a tour for me today... and that's how he taught me a lot about the management of the territory.

The first one was a spacious hotel... a splendid mansion like the one we saw in King's Landing.

The mansion, formerly known as Mead Square (Hall), is said to be used for welcoming guests from afar and entertaining them with alcohol.

For example, if a nobleman from another territory, such as the King of the King's City, comes, the hotel will be used and the nobleman and the king will sleep here.

Eldan Mansions are an important military hub and a personal place where families and others live.

Hosting people who are not trustworthy there is a risk... that people who are in a better position than themselves, such as kings, will get involved when they face to face with their wives... It seems that a hotel is indispensable to avoid incredible trouble.

We stayed in Eldan's Mansion because Eldan trusts me… Even distant relatives living in other territories, for example, are not allowed to stay in Eldan's Mansion.

Next up was a medium-sized stone fortress, home to patrols called the Mahatti security forces.

There are many soldiers, there are many horses... and the patrols are constantly moving to other fortifications or big cities based in various parts of the territory.

Only Eldan and the cadres know when and where the patrols will be.

Instead of a fixed route, they travel on different routes every time, with 10, 20 or 100 people.

If the patrol keeps moving like that, it's only a threat from anyone who tries to stain their hands with crime… Dozens of patrols may come at the moment they try to steal, and even if they try to steal successfully, there may be a 100-strong patrol on the run… It's a pretty good deterrent to crime.

Even if the enemy forces attack, it's hard to know how many defensive forces they have, and it's hard to know how many total combat forces they have... not only to maintain law and order, but also to deter them.

The next one was in the underground waterway, where Emma explained to me at the caravan.

The staircase in the guarded shed, where soldiers are stationed, allows them to enter the underground waterway… It appears that the staircase was built to manage and clean the underground waterway.

Eldan manages the underground waterways as well as the large rivers seen on the road.

Eldan is in charge... and he's in control, and if he needs to, he can change the flow or stop the weir...

Water is an indispensable part of life, and that's why healing water is important... because you hold it firmly there, my lord... what is it?

I don't go out of my way to talk about such threats, but nonetheless everybody in the realm knows about them, and there's something in my head that might happen if I defy them... I'm doing my best to make sure I don't have to do that, but Eldan is still ready to use his hands.

"... I think it's strange for me to say something like that when I've had a rebellion, but I still don't think I'll be forgiving when the time comes.

If a rebellion breaks out, security will deteriorate, the people will suffer, and in some cases other countries may push through the gap and invade.

... if that happens, many more of my people will suffer... so I'm sure I won't be merciful. "

Eldan's side face, which speaks such words in a dimly shaded underground waterway dug into a rock... in a space where we are alone, was illuminated by the lights of a pine beam, or seemed to grow up out of proportion... to be a fine lord's face.

I don't know if I can make that face or that decision... but it seemed really amazing.

"I see... Eldan is amazing."

That's why, when I return words that are too simple and that make me think that there is nothing else, Eldan smiles softly... and finally, Eldan leads us to a sugar reed field in southern Mahatti territory.

It's a field for sweet and delicious sugar, a place that saves a lot of people with its nourishment, and the backbone of the Mahatti economy... and it's Eldan's favorite place in the territory.

It was time for sugar reeds to be planted, and countless rows of rows of reeds made in fields so large that they could not see the end were lined up and planting small seedlings or stems in the fields.

The planters were human and veterinarian... and they sang the same song in a different voice.

It's hard to plant, but sugar reeds turn into gold. It's a job that gets sweaty in summer, but you can become rich. If you harvest plenty, you can lick sweet and delicious sugar.

That's why we can work hard, hard, but hard, to stack up the harvested sugar reeds like mountains, let's all work together... and sing a song with that kind of content.

It was hard, but it seemed fun. I saw people working with a smile, and their hearts warmed up, and there was an unspeakable charm... so we and Eldan kept looking at the scene without saying anything for a while.
