Chapter 388 - The Knot

It was night.

Professor An was sleeping soundly with his wife in his arms.

There was a sudden flash of light outside the window, followed by the dull sound of thunder, accompanied by the pattering of rain - the sound of the rain.

It was raining.

Professor An suddenly woke up, looked out the window, and then carefully got up.

He tiptoed out of the bedroom, not even having time to put on his clothes, and came to the door, while the dog in the kennel, who seemed to have been awake the whole time, began to bark at Professor An.

"Fear not fear not fear ......"

Professor An felt on his right hand side, as if looking for an umbrella, but he couldn't find it, so he had to rush to the doghouse in the rain and pick up the dog.

The rain intensified.

Professor An shielded the dog from the rain with his body, carried it into his study, and fished out a blanket from one of the boxes and wrapped the dog in it.

"It might be a little cold."

He looked at the dog and smiled, but he sneezed himself.

The dog licked the back of his hand and whined, like a clumsy comfort.

In front of the screen.

The audience watches the loving scene with stars in their eyes.

"Professor An is so kind."

"It's heartbreaking to watch."

"Surely a dog is true love."

"Don't catch a cold, Professor Ahn."

"He has turned his study into a doghouse, and his tolerance for his wife is actually a kind of respect, such a wonderful man."

"......"

The relatively delicate female audience seems to be particularly touched at the moment, but the charisma of Professor An's personality is gradually highlighted with the lines and temperament, along with the creation of the plot.

This is a gentle, mature and kind man.

The dog spent a warm night in the study.

At seven o'clock in the morning, Mrs. An woke up and found Professor An reading a book on the sofa in the living room with her glasses on.

"You're up so early today?"

"Yeah."

"It seems to have rained yesterday."

"Achoo ......."

"Do you have a cold?"

Mrs. An went to the door with some suspicion, but saw the dog quietly staying in the kennel and wagging its tail at her.

It turned out that Professor An got up early on purpose to return the dog to the kennel in the morning so that his wife would not find out.

His expression was so calm and his acting was so masterful that his wife couldn't see the slightest flaw.

Staring at the courtyard after the heavy rain, and then at the dog, Mrs. An bit her lip and turned back.

"Take some cold medicine."

"Already took it."

"Will you send it away today?"

"It will."

"Better be."

With his wife still not wanting the dog to stay, Professor An could only go out and look for the dog's owner.

He posted flyers on street corners in the morning, visited pet shelters in the afternoon to get information, and even contacted one of his friends who had a pet at home to ask if he had any intentions of getting a dog. ......

A few days went by and nothing was found.

Professor An could only go on like this, taking the dog to his study every day while his wife was asleep, and then returning the dog to the kennel the next morning.

On the other hand, when Professor An's daughter came to visit her parents, she was immediately attracted by the dog's cuteness and was surprised.

"I love it! What's its name?"

Mrs. An looked at Professor An, "It's called 'Send away tomorrow'."

Professor An smiled mildly.

The daughter ignored her mother's sarcasm toward her father and thought, "How about calling it Hachi?"

Professor An's smile faltered.

Mrs. Ann's hand, which was making coffee, also snapped, whirling around to look through the window at the doghouse that had been repaired.

"It's been eight years," her daughter suddenly whispered, "eight years since the kennel.

The daughter suddenly whispered: "It's exactly eight years since Blackie passed away, maybe he is the reincarnation of Blackie and came to us, we should take care of him growing up ......".

Mrs. An's expression was quiet.

Professor An, however, suddenly laughed, "Then let's call it Hachi, what do you think, wife?"

"Suit yourselves, it won't stay long anyway."

Mrs. Ann left the coffee steaming hot, turned around and went back to her room, burying her head dead between the mattress.

After a few moments, Mrs. Ang got up, opened a drawer, and took out a picture.

In the photo was a picture of a family of three, with a dog at the feet of the three of them.

It turned out that Professor An's family had a dog eight years ago, but for some reasons, the dog died.

Mrs. An was reluctant to get a dog again because she was afraid of suffering another blow, or perhaps because the dog's appearance would always remind her of her former beloved pet.

"So that's it."

"That's why Mrs. Ann didn't want a dog."

"I think I can understand it. I had a cat, and then it ran away and couldn't be found, and I cried for a long time about it.

"I cried for a long time because of it. After that I was afraid to have a cat.

"It's because she had given affection to the dog in the past, that's why she is so resistant to a new dog, it's hard for outsiders to understand this kind of feeling."

"Did Professor An bring the dog home for the purpose of comforting his wife?"

"He's such a gentle man, of course he's going to be so attentive."

"......"

The audience seemed to have some sympathy for Mrs. Ann, and this sympathy gradually covered Mrs. Ann's indifference to the dog.

"Hachi!"

After his daughter's naming, Professor An began to call the dog Hachi.

He tried to take the initiative to understand Hachi's habits and play with him, and during the day, while Professor An played the piano, Hachi would listen quietly or lick the sheet music on the piano. ......

The style of this movie is very light.

The story it tells is not very dramatic.

But the audience does not find it boring, but rather enjoys it, and the whole theater is filled with warmth and joy.

People want to believe that this is a family warmth story after losing their beloved dog for eight years, which is soothed by the appearance of Hachi.

The movie uses the way children tell stories to show a kind of flashback.

Occasional slow-motion shots, or long shots that add a sense of realism, as well as the natural pursuit of depth of field in warm-hearted films, bring this story of one man and one dog to life in the most peaceful way in the first twenty minutes.

The soundtrack begins with a slow-paced piano.

From time to time, the dog's point of view appears in the movie, in black, white, and gray, which also allows the audience to experience Hachi's feelings to the greatest extent possible.

However, the knot in Mrs. An's heart is not so easily untied.

She begins to try to get Hachi out of the house.

As a rational woman, she did not want to be dominated by a soft heart.

Hachi stands in the doorway, facing the closed door, and goes from screaming, to whimpering, and finally down, without the slightest intention of leaving.

At this point the camera pans to the inside of the door.

The audience is shocked to discover that after closing the door, Mrs. An doesn't actually go straight to her room, but stands staring at the same spot.

Dusk approaches.

Mrs. An finally moves, and carefully looks out through the door, only to be confronted at that moment with Hachi's eyes staring at her.

"Woof, woof!"

Hachi screamed, very cheerful ......

Mrs. An's tears flowed all at once, and she turned around, returning to her room with firm and heavy steps.

And so she was abandoned?

There was a strong feeling of intolerance in the audience.

Then in the next instant, a light crosses the audience's heart so suddenly that their eyes are slightly sore!

Ka-ching.

Hachi actually arched open the gate with his head and returned to the courtyard, his cries growing more joyful, over the sudden acceleration of the piano tempo!

Original ......

Mrs. An finally unlocked the door, but left it ajar, pretending to herself that it was locked.
