Chapter 366: Misfortunes Never Come Singly
Without a second thought, he charged through the tunnel exit and into a massive, circular hall.
Long Ming screeched to a halt, his body instantly freezing in place. His nerves stretched to their breaking point as he stared ahead.
Pairs of crimson eyes lit up in the darkness.
Countless Aliens—Hunters and Gnawers—scrambled to their feet. Their mouths hung slightly open, emitting low growls as viscous liquid dripped from their jaws. Each one looked like it wanted to tear Long Ming to shreds; their ravenous hunger was palpable.
Long Ming looked as if he had seen a ghost. ’I actually stumbled into an Alien nest.’ He stiffly took a step back.
His movement was like poking a hornet’s nest.
"ROAR!"
Countless Aliens surged toward Long Ming.
Terrified, Long Ming turned and ran for his life.
There were at least a thousand Aliens in that nest.
Many of them were Type III variants. Although these Type III Aliens weren’t as strong as the one he’d encountered before, each one was more than enough to give Long Ming a serious run for his money.
If they caught him, there wouldn’t be a single scrap left.
At that thought, Long Ming desperately unleashed a burst of Power. His speed skyrocketed, and he managed to put some distance between himself and the pursuing Aliens.
Soon, Long Ming burst out of the tunnel entrance and into the hangar.
Hearing the commotion, Colonel Hopka, Woperi, and the others all turned to look at Long Ming.
"Well, look at that. The monster actually ran back."
Woperi wore an expression of utter surprise.

Long Ming was also startled to see Colonel Hopka and his men. His expression soured as he came to a stop.
Immediately after, a black tide of Alien monsters poured out of the tunnel entrance behind him.
"Holy crap, the guy actually went and got backup!"
Woperi was stunned to see the Alien monsters charging out.
"Hmph. So what? Take them down!"
Colonel Hopka cracked his neck and gave the order directly.
"Yes, sir!"
Woperi and the others lowered their Shoulder Cannons, aiming at Long Ming and the Aliens.
SHOOOM!
A volley of terrifying light beams blasted forward.
A shiver went down Long Ming’s spine, and he immediately leaped out of the way.
BOOOOM!
The beams landed among the horde of Aliens behind Long Ming. A terrifying explosion swept out, instantly shredding and engulfing a large number of them while also sending Long Ming flying.
THUD!
After crashing to the ground, Long Ming lay there motionless, playing dead.
The surviving Aliens turned to face Hopka and his men, letting out furious roars.
"A bunch of beasts!"
Hopka paid the surviving Aliens no mind.
But in the next second, a massive, unending flood of Aliens poured out from the tunnel.
"Damn, why are there so many?"
Woperi and his comrades were also taken aback.
In an instant, the black tide of Aliens swarmed them frantically.
"So what? Kill them!"
A vicious glint appeared in Hopka’s eyes as he roared at his subordinates. He then charged toward the attacking Aliens, raised the gray mechanical Giant Hammer in his hands, and swept it horizontally.
CRUNCH!
Swathes of Aliens were smashed into meat paste and sent flying.
Woperi and Fakadon, piloting their Storm Envoys, swung their Light Blades as if they were cutting vegetables, slicing one attacking Alien after another in half.
The two custom-built Third Generation Mechanical Gods raised their left arms, activated their concealed cannons, and fired furiously at the advancing Aliens.
BANG! BANG!
One by one, the Aliens were riddled with holes.
But the number of attacking Aliens grew, surrounding them like a relentless tide.
However, Hopka and his men were completely fearless, slaughtering their way through the monstrous horde.
"AAARGH~"
The slain Aliens let out constant death wails.
At that moment, Long Ming, still playing dead on the floor, watched the scene with a frantic twitch in his eyelid.
’Who the hell are these guys? Every single one of them is so ferocious!’
Although the number of Aliens that had charged out was immense, Long Ming felt that if Hopka’s team had enough time, the Aliens would definitely be no match for them.
Just then, the number of Aliens pouring from the tunnel began to dwindle, soon becoming just a trickle.
The last one, a Type I Crawler Alien, ran out. It wanted to charge forward and join the others in surrounding and killing Hopka.
However, it couldn’t squeeze into the monster tide and was instead irritably flung aside by a massive Type II Alien.
The Crawler Alien picked itself up off the ground, looked around, and spotted Long Ming playing dead on the floor.
It crawled toward Long Ming inquisitively.
Long Ming immediately noticed the small Crawler Alien, his face darkening as he cursed inwardly.
’Don’t come over here! Don’t come over here!’
Unfortunately, the small Crawler Alien was completely clueless and crawled right up to Long Ming’s face.
It opened its mouth and lunged to bite him.
"Damn it!"
Long Ming had no choice but to get up and slash his blade horizontally at the Alien.
CRACK!
The Alien was sliced clean in two.
After finishing it off, Long Ming decisively charged back toward the tunnel entrance he came from.
Just then, Colonel Hopka swung his Giant Hammer in a whirlwind strike, sweeping away a group of Aliens like trash.
He keenly spotted Long Ming charging back into the tunnel. His brow furrowed as he said,
"Damn it, that monster charged back into the tunnel! It’s probably going to rally more Aliens. You all hold the line here. I’m going to slaughter it!"
"Yes, sir!"
Woperi and the others immediately responded.
Hopka activated his mechanical wings and broke through the encirclement with a low-altitude dive.
At that moment, several Type III Aliens opened their mouths and shot streams of Pross beams at Hopka.
Hopka directly activated his Energy Barrier.
TZZT! TZZT!
The Pross beams struck the Energy Barrier and scattered in all directions.
Withstanding the attack, Hopka flew to the tunnel entrance, landed, and quickly rushed inside.
「Inside the tunnel.」
Long Ming was sprinting deeper inside. Before the knot of tension in his chest could loosen even slightly, he heard a sound from behind.
Startled, he whipped his head around and saw Hopka in pursuit, piloting the Fourth Generation Mechanical God, Prison Breaker.
"Fuck!"
Long Ming couldn’t help but curse.
’Are these people insane? They’re ignoring all those Aliens just to chase after me.’
Long Ming pushed himself to the limit, accelerating forward. He burst out of the tunnel exit ahead and arrived back in the Alien nest.
The entire nest was now empty, littered with nothing but shattered bone fragments.
Long Ming kept running forward. He immediately spotted a viscous, slimy tunnel and plunged into it without a second thought.
When he burst out of the tunnel and into an inner chamber, he froze, his face a mask of terror.
Before him appeared a creature radiating an aura of pure terror. It was twenty meters tall, with a malformed head, crimson eyes, and a humanoid body. Its bones and carapace gleamed with a strange black luster, bone spikes protruded from its back, and its tail spike was a full thirty meters long. Its left arm had split into sharp claws, while its right had formed a razor-sharp blade. It was the Type IV Alien Heluya.
Long Ming felt as if he had been plunged into a cavern of ice, and he couldn’t help but shiver.
Just then, Hopka, piloting Prison Breaker, charged in as well.
Heluya instinctively sensed a threat, and its crimson eyes immediately snapped toward Hopka.
