Gardina Forest Capital

A year and six months passed since the reception of more than 1,500 inhabitants.

Those who were skeptical at first also accepted life here in the Gardina Forest Capital, a delight.

Initially it was a streak of hard work. We also give dwellings, assign jobs, teach studies, hold football, knitting, and occasional assemblies by district for rapprochement with former residents, and Georg's hard work in leading them, or extrapolating.

But now, a year and a half later, chaos has already converged, and the newly introduced monetary system has managed to get on track and see signs of economic development.

Currently, Georg's mansion is also nearly twice as large as it once was, and is called the "Gardina Forest Metropolitan Capitol" and so on.

I want you to stop calling me a capitol even though it's an individual's house, is Georg's word. In the end, Georg was Georg, and now he built an artificial island on the lake (unconscious but rather massive), built a mansion and connected it with a bridge, making it a new home there.

It has become a firm and painful name, such as Parliament, but it cannot do so either. Until now, the meeting of twelve had more than tripled in attendance with the expansion of repeated businesses and the launch of new organisations.

The heads of each department were accompanied by their own aides, and guards of the new agricultural research societies aimed at the medical sector and the civil and architectural sectors, crop variety improvement, as well as the armoury production sector subdivided from the iron industry, the Monetary Authority responsible for monetary casting and even the increased security of the venues, were now deployed. At last, we are starting to get better shape as a city.

It would also be a major change that there would now be an incandescent debate every time in Parliament. Each in their own opinion, where do we have to improve, is that really important, and what can we do to make it more efficient than it is at present? Especially in the first period, the group has only accumulated enough knowledge and experience to propose many opinions, often saying something meaningful inside.

It is Georg who ultimately denies it, or approves it and gives the order to execute it, but Georg speaks out as much as recently as the establishment of a new organisation or the appointment of its chief and aides.

The Gardina Forest Capital was finally about to enter a period of advanced growth.

"... you've gotten busy"

"Really."

On the third floor of the additional capitol, on a terrace overlooking the city, Georg and Ferris were looking at the people they were going to meet.

"So far no one wants to go back to where they came from, right?

"Yeah, well, you wouldn't normally sell it if you had as good a relationship as you could think of."

"So is that... I don't know if anyone can have that relationship... but in two or three more years, we'll be looking north this time"

"... Empire?

"Oh, that much time would make this city richer, too. Building a city this size is unlikely to see the end of this forest, there will be plenty of room."

"... in time, humans will notice."

So grumbling Ferris is suddenly worried about his grown-up face here these days.

"Well, that would be the real point of view. I don't think we can break through this forest that way, but if we mobilize as many soldiers as we can, by then, we'll have to have the force to restructure the guard as an army and counter humans."

Currently, the guard force has been reorganized roughly double its size, with 47 increasing to 92. These days, there are still fights and so on, so the need for them is increasing. At present, the only building that will be crammed is the large, two-story building in the heart of the city, known as the "Guard Command Post", but also the creation of stations like alternating stations in each area is under consideration.

"... I knew it would be a dispute"

"Well. I've never crossed it if I can avoid it, but it'll be hard."

"Can't your brother stand on the arrow?

"Still, I don't mind, but sooner or later, when I die, that's the question of how far an army with zero experience in action will work. How many inhabitants here have given birth to a large number of children, and that's how we catch up with the human population. If so, I want to make you think it's not so easy to overthrow a man who is outnumbered after noticing here and repeating the battle a few times before he's fully prepared. Even if it hurts, if I'm alive, it'll still work."

"... so your brother says that even if the people here are going to die, that can't be helped?

Ferris has turned his angry eyes to Georg.

"Well, if a hundred people die now and a thousand help in the future, I'll not hesitate to choose it"

But Georg's answer was not to take that anger into account.

"Oh... no..."

"Oh, you might suck as an individual. But as an exchanger, I think this is the right thing to do. Regardless, it would be best not to let anyone die. But if the best option is crushed, we must not hesitate to choose the next good. That is the duty of those who lead the way. Don't get lost as a mentor. Always be right, at least for those who follow. We must walk forward, cut our way, show and tread more than anyone else. But then, in many cases, it must be later than anyone else. It's also because the mentor is the only one who can take on all the responsibilities. Therefore, when I die, I can only be either a great man of all merit, or a sinful man who bears all sins. At least that's what I think."

That's all rolled up at once, and Ferris shut up for a while, and.

"Well, unless your best choice is crushed, your brother keeps choosing it,"

"Right."

"Oh well..."

Then don't worry. And whine small.

"... why?

"Because you're my brother. A brother who thinks more enthusiastically than anyone here, more deeply than anyone, and more kindly than anyone else, there's no way he can easily give up the best. If such a brother said he would choose the next good, I'm sure no one would blame him, I think so"

"... that's what I was expecting, my stomach hurts now"

Georg replied with a bitter smile on Ferris' radiant smile.

"Good luck, brother"

If you close your eyes and clear that ear better than a man, the voice of the guard's training, the powerful voice of selling vegetables and hardware in the open air, the sounds of the animals, the liveliness of the people you go to and from the blacksmiths, the noise of pettiness sounds regular.

Georg, who opened his eyes again, slowly turned to Ferris.

"Oh, well, I'll try not to betray everyone's expectations. When a man finds out and a dispute becomes inevitable, I will always help him to the extent that he is unnoticed. If there's nothing I can do about it, I'll do everything I can to protect myself and drive my enemies away. Without anyone dying, maybe not. But I can do as much as I can to reduce the death toll."

"I mean, I think your brother can do it."

"No, no, no, no, no. By then, Johann or Jill might show their heads as military commanders, right?

Georg solidified his resolve again while returning such words.

Protect this vibrant city, the people who live there, and the loved ones in front of it, even at the expense of this body.

Both of them look out at the city together. The expression held a sense of accomplishment and hope for the future that perhaps only these two, or the earliest inhabitants, would understand.

It was after a glorious sun-drenched day in the Gardina Forest Capital, where marriage and childbirth have increased somewhat recently.
