Garudeina Oukoku Koukoku Ki

Readiness for solitude

"Jill, what's the operation?

"Ha. First of all, we thought it was important to prevent the enemy from sniffing out and attaching to the fortress with momentum in the first battle."

After returning to the formation and converting the position into a forest in Gardina, Georg had military discussions with Jill and his deputy generals.

"How to do that?

"Anticipating the timing of the enemy's march to the fortress, a blow out of the sky by the Kingsguard, wondering if this would be the best"

"Hmm... don't you use ground power"

"Yes, the enemy has just arrived on the battlefield, and let us be as impetuous as the running water. With only 400 of our gestures, we decided it was a bad idea."

"Mm, good. But don't just fail to be prepared to do anything at any time."

"Ha. In the unlikely event of a major upset to the enemy in that first blow, and a good opportunity appears to be created here, we can also mobilize ground forces."

"Mm-hmm. That's Rasheed and the kind of imitation you miss. In some cases, it may take the form of interior and exterior interdiction. Check your friends' movements and be mindful to maximize their power."

"Right...... I'll take it fully into account, more than it's not an impossible story. Should I have a meeting with General Basnell?

"I don't mind. This one acts completely separate from the Imperial Army, only as an independent force. If I had to meet Rasheed every time, that would be a hassle. As allies, if we are still in the castle, we cannot act on our own initiative, but we must move at our discretion beyond doing another action outside the castle. Well, Rasheed is the Empire's general and not Gardina's. I don't even think our army will obey his orders. If Rasheed asks you anything, you'll have to tell him from me."

"Yeah, sure, there's no way they gave you an order over your head to do that without consulting your Excellency. Aside from the chain of command, it is the Lord Commander who has the right to command us that requests it the most."

"That's the thing. Well, this one will all have a more wrapped up soldier than it is now, and then, if we have the chance to fight together, we'll have to work closely together... but not yet, prematurely. We have only an overwhelming minority of soldiers, and we have no intention of having exactly the same authority. Rebellion will be imperative, and more importantly, it will not stand."

"Yes, show strength in this battle and later count, build an elite army that will crown the continent, not rely on numbers, in smell, morale, quality of equipment, everything."

"I don't know if it's going to crown, but it's a big one. There is a way where the will is. As long as you continue to have that will, you will soon find your way."

"Ha!!

Jill's thoughts are also, in fact, what Georg, and roughly all military men, wish for. When we say population, it's harder to superior humans in numbers than it is to be filled in years or decades. For example, after that, there is nothing else to make up for the difference with quality.

Georg's thoughts are that he intends to actively incorporate technological innovations as well as improvements in the quality of equipment as it stands. A uniformed soldier who ends the age of swords and bows and is independent of an individual's physical abilities. In other words, he wanted to incorporate unilateral combat from a distance by gunfire.

If that were to happen, the precious means of ranged attack, magic, would lose its advantage and, as a result, be able to turn all of Gardina's elves into internal affairs. At present, in Gardina, where there are no sprinklers or incineration treatment facilities, he and his women, with the ultimate convenience capability of magic, constantly receive requests for additional staff from every department. Even if those facilities were built, their presence value would not diminish, which would have more than a certain effect without being dependent on location, weather or the environment. That small number goes hand in hand with the current situation in which we are now in production jobs with almost no exception.

Some of the elves volunteer for the army, which is also, by no means, a small number. But Georg doesn't acknowledge it in any way. Exceptions include a military physician who accompanies an elf engaged in medical relations to the battlefield as a medical officer, but that is also slowly obsolete and the genuine desire to compile a health guard.

Sometimes they would say this is "special only to elves" etc. But this is by no means discriminatory. In other words, it is a suitable material. In wars of this era, it is natural to end up in melee combat in aggressive, defensive, siege, retreat, and all other combat practices. No matter how well the elves and Kingsguards excel in magic, they can be exercised only a limited number of times a day, and if it comes to a brawl, there is no magic turn. Together, it is the ultimate natural consequence of incorporating more Beastmen into the army than human beings.

Speaking of which, you would think Dwarf would apply, but Dwarf has the disadvantage that health, muscle strength, etc. also lack horns and agility. This is somewhat problematic in an army where alignment is important.

This has not been publicly proclaimed by Georg himself, but he said he would not bother his head as much with differences by race as he did with the formation of the army. Therefore, it is now made up of beasts.

< Well, as long as you can do the kind of guns, you'll hardly have to consider that either... >

In order to do this, we must first refine the black powder, but the problem is sulfur, as long as the charcoal and the nitrous stone are fine. Unfortunately, sulphur is not present in Gardina. Perhaps if we explore the vast land of the Empire, we will find it, but we must talk well with Lyudmila around it. Besides, it's unclear if there's even a volcano, but nothing means of obtaining sulfur is limited to searching near the volcano.

That said, is it really good... >

Technological innovation and the development of guns. I am convinced that this is necessary to make Gardina a mainland force in the military. But the battle with guns will undoubtedly transform the wars of this continent and hence of the world.

Even the reflectors for steelmaking don't think the Dwarf craftsmen, who built on Georg's vague knowledge, can't build guns. But I don't think that's what this world is all about.

Having said that, there is no doubt that a new weapon using quality or overwhelming technical power, such a thing, is essential for an inferior number of armies to make up for it...

In this continent of the world, I am interested in a country that is only subhuman. It is not easy to create by simply being beautiful. Just overshadowing the common sense of human possessions is tantamount to taking away their property. In addition to that, if we were to establish an independent state, it would be inevitable that a dispute would arise there. And there can be no more hesitation, retreat or stagnation than having to beat it.

Fortunately, Gardina, it is easy to keep the technology secret, both geographically and manually. I don't even think the development of guns itself is going to go smoothly, but I'm not going to put into action any of the volcano gun levels I'm talking about in Japan in the first place. research, development and improvement so that we can obtain solid advantages in the battlefield. And if we can show that power and performance, as well as Gardina's technical ability, and make each country think, "It's better to be on our side and get a technology offering than to make enemies," we win.

And on top of that, technology will only be disclosed with respect to early stage guns for friendly states. If Gardina can form a weapon that always uses state-of-the-art technology, and if other countries can form a weapon a generation or two before it, Gardina will always be able to prevail in quality on the battlefield. And if another country understands that, I don't know how to open a war end like that. Regardless, the premise is that Gardina's development technology will continue to prevail over the human nation, but even steelmaking technology will not likely catch up that way with those who are still underdeveloped in the first place. In building guns, that must be pretty painful. I have just taught you how to structure a gun and cannon, and the technology to build it and secure the material must come first. Ideally we should make good use of it and stay at the forefront of the arms industry at all times.

I don't know when that will come true, but I think it's worth it. Indeed, even in the present situation, there are advantages that draw a line with humans, such as the physical abilities of beasts, the magic of elves and dragonuts. However, research and development capabilities are unusually high when it comes to competing with human beings.

From now on, if the battle against the human state extends over a long period of time, there is no reason why they will not take any measures against Gardina's strategic advantage. In particular, it would be to take a leap forward and develop counterweapons against Dragonut, which is an aerial force. That's why I don't care about the size of a large crossbow for anti-aircraft use, but when it derives from it and develops, and it becomes a threat to Dragoneworth, the operation is also irresistible. When it comes to beasts, they do beat humans when it comes to physical abilities, but the battlefield is the same earth as humans, countermeasures and so on.

If that were to happen one day, it might be inevitable, in some ways, that Georg had come up with the development of a new weapon in advance of that.

Naturally, it would take a few years, if not more than a decade, to eventually make that technology into something. Until then, we need to figure out how to make the most of the advantages we have.

< I have already decided to be ready. Don't get lost, me >

For those who believe in themselves, there is no reason to doubt their actions. For example, whether that is unquestionable "iniquity" or "evil" to man. If it is "righteous" for him who follows him, if it is "good", let him run just down the path.

Georg never speaks of the thought, he never tells anyone.

Lonely vows.

And yet, there is no grief there, nor does it make you feel dull in your determination.

But it was the rightful and noble dragon that stood idly by.
