Gate of Amitilicia Online

Episode 57: Forest Elves

After breaking up with Mr. Larser and returning to Zvand, I went to the security filing to see if there was any notification of Elf's missing person, but there was no such person. Briefly explain the situation and ask me to let you know if I have any information in the future.

At that time, I heard that the zombie incidence in the forest was increasing. It's only more than usual, and that's not what's causing the damage. Yes, but it was still the word of the guard soldier that something was going on in the woods. I promised to cooperate and log out to let you know if anything happened.

I logged in the next day to look for an elf staying in Zvand, but no hits as to whether it was a bad time. Although I tried to gather information on the elf settlement, it seems to be in a very hidden state and this one has no information. I tried searching the bulletin board for information from the players but this one didn't hit either. Looks like a lot of players are looking for it.

When this happens, the only way to find it is by yourself. That's fine because I have athe once, but the problem is when I find it. Elf's normal language is Elf, not Common. Even if I could make contact, I wouldn't be able to communicate my intentions without an elf that could speak a common language over there. I'd like to think there's one or two of them, but depending on the timing, it could be all kinds of unsavory.

That's why I decided to learn Elf. Fortunately, Zvand also had a small library and a linguistic dictionary. He succeeded in successfully acquiring elf language by mimicking the way players he had previously met in the Grand Library and decided to make a copy of the dictionary. I guess I feel more tired than writing down recipes for cooking or something because I didn't have the feeling of having fun and remembering. While there was a lot of excitement and surprise when copying the recipe, I only felt like studying the transcript of the dictionary.

I didn't feel like doing anything else and I logged out that day just to learn Elf.

56th login.

First we headed to a place where there was a stir. This time the aim is to explore the settlement of elves, so proceed to avoid encounters with animals as much as possible. Fortunately, we arrived at our destination without meeting carnivores or warcraft.

"Well, and"

Stand in a space where the temper disappears and completely returns to the original air, observing the ground. I'm pretty sure that elf zombie came from here. But it didn't even spring out of here all of a sudden. I came here from somewhere. So from here on out, I'm going to try to follow the path that that elf came on.

Mr. Larser's blow the other day did not particularly have an impact on the ground. So the ground should stay where that elf was when he died.

The soil had been peeled out because the plants were dead due to temper, and it was easy to identify the traces. There are traces on the ground like you dragged something. Perhaps that elf dragged his body when he was alive. Now I know which one you're from. After that, you just have to follow it as you search for traces.

That said, this place is still good, but there are many places in the woods where the ground cannot be seen covered with dead leaves or with weeds. It's hard to find traces of what's left of it. My grandfather would be able to find footprints among them, but I can't. Even when Grandpa pointed to me and told me that there was a boar trail here, I didn't know until I got rid of the leaves...

There were some traces of him dragging his legs, and there were blood marks on the fallen leaves, but he lost sight of them a little further. It still doesn't work with amateurs. I don't have a choice, let's do something else.

"Quinn. With your nose, can you follow the trace that elf traced? If it works, it's one deer."

Quinn smells the ground in my words. And move forward a little bit. Can we? I hoped, but that leg stopped on the way. Look at this one and shake your head to the side. Apparently not.

Well, there's no choice. I don't know how long ago that elf died. Real life and the flow of time are different, and it's not strange if the smell disappears.

But then, you don't have a clue. In the meantime, why don't we just go straight ahead?

I walked quite a bit but nothing. On the way, I met several sets of players, but there was no sighting of the elves. When this happens, we have to rethink the way we look. Might as well wait for the elves to show up in the city.

But I wonder what it's like to stay doing nothing. I can't cook and dispense in and out until the elves pass by.

I don't have much information about elves in the first place. The book I read in the Great Library only stated that I would live in the woods. But if you live in the woods, there are no traces of life or anything. Like cooking smoke.

I'll open the menu and check the time. Specifications showing real time and in-GAO time, but all we need now is in-GAO time. It was before noon when I saw it. You can expect that. GAO residents eat just like normal people. I make that meal by following the same steps as I do in real life. It's three meals a day, and the meal time is the same. So if it's time now, we should be cooking lunch.

Then why don't you climb the tree first?

"Quinn, give me a minute."

Put in a no and then climb a nearby tree. The backpack I usually carry was transferred to storage. It's been a long time since I've climbed a tree, but it's less bitter than I thought because I'm physically capable than I am in real life.

Branches are clue-footed, sometimes climbing the trunk and reaching the top of the line at short notice. It didn't seem like a tree that tall in this forest, and I can see taller trees around. The smoke in the cooking... you can't see. Are you not using fire, or is it not the amount of levels you can see?

"No clue, or... hmm?

I gave up and tried to get off, and I had something to worry about.

The trees are getting taller as we go behind the woods. So trees around here are lower than deep trees. Yet there is an area with trees that are clearly higher than their surroundings.

Forests, elves, special trees...... images become associated with various things. It's not uncommon to set up a close connection between elves and special trees depending on the game... and if the trees around there are different from normal trees, there could be some clue. I don't have any other clues, and I can't go there.

Mark the map for the general position and get off the tree and head that way.

There was something hooked on [Signal Detection] before we reached our destination. The number is three. Staying on the spot to see how things were, they stopped over there, too. If it was a beast, it would come this way. Is it a player? Or a resident hunter?

Don't forget to stay alert. I started moving here and there. The distance gradually shrinks so that we can see what it looks like.

"Discovery"

And I shrugged. What showed up was the elf I was looking for.

All three in front of you are men. Should I say promise or not? I have all the beauty shapes. In characteristic long ears, hair has different lengths but all have thin blonde hair. The skin is white, the lines of the body are thin, but there is no image of luxury or weakness. Filtered muscles can be seen in the arms peeking through the sleeves of grassy clothes. It's called a thin macho system. Hmm, a little off my personal image elf. If you see it as a strong hunter, I'm sure you're not mistaken.

Equipped with leather torso armor and hands, boots. It is a small sword that I am raising on my hips, and I have a long bow in my hand. I guess it was because I was wary of this one, with an arrow in my other hand.

Well, we finally got in touch. How did you say it? I tried to open my mouth to see if I should say hello for now.

"Gentiles? I need to ask you something, okay?

and a long-haired elf standing in the middle threw the question first. And a common language...... well, that's fine...

"If only I knew."

Let's move on. Nodding, the long-haired elf bows his head when he hits it. The other two don't break their guard. Thank you. Quinn seems conscious. I don't know if I can do it.

"Do you go into these woods often?

"Originally the base of activity was Einfast. I've only recently come to Tsvand and started hunting in these woods."

"Well... did you ever see an elf then?

The question is... I mean, is that what it is? What did you say? I'm sure this one is connected to what you want to hear, but depending on how you say it, it can be an extra misunderstanding... No, don't you start afraid of that.

"I haven't seen a living elf, but I've seen a zombied elf"

Honestly. I can see the upset running on the men. After all, you're likely to be one of their associates.

"I was with two Black Wolf zombies when I encountered them. He attacked me, so I knocked him down."

One breath, put it down, keep going.

"I don't know how to elf, but I didn't sneak it into the wild, so I buried it. I also collect some of the remnants. And I'm acting to find that elf's best man."

Remove artifacts from storage. An arrow in the ring, a little sword. All wrapped in the same cloth.

"Can you ask for confirmation?

The elves approached us and the long-haired elves received it politely. Put it on the ground and slowly unwrap it. Eventually I saw the contents and the man's face was distorted. I can see the two remaining people breathing. Hit, or...

"Sounds pretty sure, huh?

"It was in the possession of our settlers..."

Answered as the long-haired elf clenched the small sword of the artifact. You must be shocked the searcher was dead. But you're doing really well. I also thought during the Einfast defense, but mourning the death of my people doesn't look like acting or making it up. That's why in playing GAO, I don't treat them as just NPCs, I treat them as people who actually exist.

Wait until they settle down. It didn't take long. The artifact is wrapped in cloth again and the long-haired elf rises. And I've offered it to you.

"What's up?

"I got confirmation. I'll give it back."

"No, it's your people's artifact, isn't it? Just take it."

I've been reclaiming it with that intention. Why are you looking so surprised?

"How much should I buy it for?

This question came up on my face, said a short haired elf close to pruning. It was just an even more unexpected word.

"I originally carried it with me just to hand it over to the survivors. I'm not thinking about taking the money."

"I don't mind if you do... but you have no greed..."

In this case, is it common for the possession of the dead to belong to the discoverer? If that's normal, I know I'd react like this. No, you weren't sure what was going on with the bandit's rights to the stored gold. I'll look into it another time.

More than that, there are still things that haven't been cleaned up. Let's prioritize that one.

"Here."

After introducing ourselves to each other, we guided the three elves to the burial site. It doesn't look like the beast dug it back, but it's under the dirt. The condition of the body must be progressing.

"You buried it with spiritual magic."

"Oh. You know what I mean?

"If you use Spirit Magic, the Spirit on the spot is activated. Here still remains the figure of the Spirit of the earth"

Long-haired elf - Zachris said that. I'll observe where I buried it, but I'm not sure.

"Our elves see the Spirit more than they did when they were born. Even if you are not an elf, you will see many in a land full of spiritual power, and if you have a high affinity with the Spirit, you will also see the Spirit of such a place"

I guess using spiritual magic doesn't look like me right now is not level enough. I don't use it often. If you're a spiritual user like Miriam, maybe you can see it. I wonder if I'll ever be able to see it again? I can't wait to see what you look like.

Regardless, what will Zachris and the others do after this? Do we leave the body buried here, or do we take it home?

As I watched, Zachris uttered the Spirit language. It is an appeal to the earthly Spirit. I thought you were going to dig it back, but it was the sarcophagus that popped into my eyes that came out of the ground. No, Stone, it's not. The surface looks like barbecue, or the surface of a wheel, or it looks like dry, hardened soil.

"Uh...?

I wasn't sure what happened, so I accidentally turned my gaze to the pruning elf I was beside - Theodore - and the ponytail elf - Mauri.

"I consolidated the soil around the body in the ground. I didn't harden it until it turned to stone."

That's what Mauri explained to me, but does that mean you can even turn dirt into stone? No, it's a defensive battle video, and Miriam was crushing the Demons with stone columns, but how was that not doing with the stones in the ground, but turning the dirt into stone? I can do that too... Spirit magic is awesome... no, in this case that's all the elves that are good at handling spirits, does that mean?

I'm surprised. Zachris stores the coffin in storage. Oh, [space storage] isn't a player-only skill.

Zachris, who finished the work, looks here.

"Thank you, Fist. Now we can bring Kurt back to the village."

Zachris bowed his head with words. And Theodore and Mauri. Is Kurt the name of the elf that was zombified?

"No, I'm glad you handed it over safely. Then mourn him carefully."

I'm glad it worked, though I can't do this every time, and I can't keep extending it. If this was a people's tribe, I'd have ended up keeping the artifacts in a security jar. Candlestick.

Fist, give me a minute.

Zachris's voice reached me when I tried to walk away.

"If I may, will you attend the funeral?

And unexpected words ensued. Me at the elf's funeral?

"Uh... how could we be talking about that?

"When the elf dies outside the settlement, if anyone has taken care of it, they ask to participate. You got involved after Kurt died, but you're definitely the one who saved the undead Kurt. I know it might be a hassle, but I want you to be there to drop off Kurt."

That's starting to sound strange. I don't know what that means, but I wonder if that's the elf custom. I don't think anything's going to change where I've been, but if that makes them feel better, can we work together? It's just...

"Can you give me permission to enter Quinn's village?

You can't leave Quinn alone. And Quinn will be there.

"I hear Stormwolf is not a phantom beast that strikes people without darkness. Besides, I guess being with you means you were there, too, right? There's no problem."

Zachris gave me a light acknowledgement.

Well, it's an elf village... I wonder what it is.
