Episode 112: Alchemy Poison

"Fist, what's the disease, you got it?

"As for that, the symptoms have increased. Angela's face is starting to have a painful white rash. I don't know under my clothes, but it hurts everywhere."

Saying so without answering directly, Elka opened her eyes. Yeah, you know the symptoms.

"Ugh... lie! It can't be anything!

"I guess. It's strange how multiple people develop somjess all at once."

Somjes is one of the STDs in GAO. The symptoms are fever, headache, etc. that have already been confirmed at the inquiry, but the most important feature is the newly confirmed, painful white rash. When this is done and pus comes out, pox marks remain even when the illness heals. It's the worst disease for a whore whose appearance is also a business tool.

However, the disease has a long latency period. If you suffer, you will be the first to discover it, and due to the nature of STDs, the co-morbidity is unnatural. That's probably why Elka denied it.

I just saw some information somewhere about the poison that gives me the same symptoms as this. Oh, yeah, I remember. It's a book from the Einfast Grand Library. I laughed at the useless stuff that made it look like an STD, but if this were going to happen, I'd make a copy like The Dictionary of Diseases. Exactly. I don't even remember the poison details. I didn't even want to get my hands on it.

In the meantime, this is the only clue I'm likely to have. As long as I go check it out after a job here.

"Elka. Is there only a guest in and out of this hall?

"Besides the customers, there are merchants in and out."

"What about food? When was the last time you went shopping?

"I also get regular food deliveries. At the end of the day, before you go on holiday. I want you to bring it to the lobby and take it from there to the pantry."

"Did Elka also mouth the food brought in at that time?

"Yeah, because we ate here the night we had the delivery and the morning we left"

Is the line from the food thinner than the elka has not developed? No, maybe you just happened to say something that wasn't poisoned. Then, the range of normal visitors moving around seems to be limited.

Put your gaze back on Quinn here, please.

"Quinn, remember the smell of the women in this hall for a second. So, can you confirm if any other smell remains on the premises, especially outside? The reward is two deer."

Not that there's any other possibility, but let's just assume they poisoned us.

I didn't know how far the smell of the dog system could go following the smell of the past, but Quinn searched brilliantly for it. Inside the mansion, no smell in the pantry. It was not known if there was poison in the food. Looking around, it looks like someone broke into the property over the back fence. The wall is nearly three meters tall, and there's no sign of a twisting climb. Then I guess I jumped over. I only have a bad feeling.

So, the intruder's destination was the reservoir and well on the property. Actually, Dorad, or the kingdom of Fallula, can have a proper water supply. I don't know when it comes to village units, but this one from Einfast, there was always one in the big city.

I hear that the average household may be a well, not a water supply, but there are both water supplies and wells for this building. Plumbing is also connected from the well to the reservoir so that water can be drawn in.

The well here was in the cabin and the entrance was locked, but Elka asked me to open it and Quinn checked it out, and the intruder smelled still inside. I took a peek inside the well, but I don't know what's going on. As far as I can tell, no foreign matter was admitted, but if it was a colorless, odorless poison, you can't even tell from what I've seen.

The same was true for the reservoir, but the key left a smell, so you could still see that it was opened and something put in it. The kind of guy who breaks in over the walls, closes in on the water, unlocks it, and there's no way he hasn't done anything.

For once, I was also thinking of curse lines, but in this situation, it would still be poisonous.

"Elka, don't use the water from the water supply and the well"

While returning to the entrance to the hall, I will inform you that there is a good chance of poison at the moment.

"Don't use it, but you need water?

"I know. There's always some barreled water I've got, so I'm gonna get it out."

There are four water barrels that I always have. We'll figure it out for now. Though I didn't think it would be useful in this way.

"Well, I'm gonna go out for a little while, so I'll take care of it later."

"I'm going out," he said... what are you doing? Before you do, are you going to come back?

Hmm? Why do you look so unexpected?

"Naturally. Nothing's over yet. There's no way I can leave it like this. I have one clue, so I'll go. I'll take care of them. Then just in case, don't even get the food you have right now. If you're hungry, I'll serve you the food I have."

Elka accidentally stopped. I don't know what's going on. This one stops and looks back,

"What's up?

"Why would you do that to me?

With a puzzled look on his face, I said.

"If everyone was really poisoned, it would mean someone was after us here. Whatever you think can only be troublesome. And yet why is that? It's not supposed to have anything to do with Fist... but if you do, you don't know what's going to happen to Fist?

The answer is, if you ask me, there's something I can do right now. It is a matter of concern to you that I am a Kano fist child living in modern society, but I am a fist now and have useful skills, knowledge and supplies. I can help.

Sometimes I've already been involved, and I want to help people in need, because I'm not lying, but most importantly, helping people within GAO is just a matter of feelings and a loss account. Even if you get caught up in a rough thing here, it's Avatar who gets hurt or dies. I'm not willing to play assuming I die, but unlike reality, I can prioritize what I want to do. If this is real, then there is only one life and one body, so I can't stick my neck in trouble in the middle of nowhere.

Well, I can't even say it as it is, so I'll say this.

"Tea"

"Huh?"

"Thank you for helping just now. You can't even brew it with poisoned water, can you? Besides, your body is in this condition."

"Damn, that's right... but it's not -"

"So. Clean it up and have a treat of tea. That's all right, right?

Block the blinking elka and end the story. I'll get involved as much as I can, that's what I decided. Unless there's nothing more you can do, or if Elka doesn't reject it with absolute will, I move.

"... you idiot, that's a thank you for helping me personally. I'm not gonna make it through this."

Forced to turn the face I was about to cry into a grin, Elka said. I'm sure we're talking about the whole whorehouse, but for once, this is an extension of what we did to help Elka. As a store, we are talking about how to make a decision when Mr. Tsubaki and I return.

"If you say tea doesn't match, just behave like a cook. Give me something to eat. Oh, if you can cook, talk about. If you can't, I hope you can show me some good stores."

"... there's no one in this hall who can't cook. Fine, I'll personally treat you, apart from thanking you as a store, once this is cleared up."

"Mm-hmm. Looking forward to it"

I move my gaze from Elka, who smiles back, to Quinn.

"Quinn, I need their escort until I get back. An extra deer. Don't kill them if it gets rough. I have a lot to ask you."

My partner nodded at me as I waved my tail. All right, now we're done worrying. So you're heading to Einfast?

He jumped to Einfast at the transfer gate, from where he used a shortcut to head to the Einfast Grand Library.

The book I was looking for could be found in the back of the Great Library, in a section with specialty books.

The name of the poison is [The Price of Slut]. It's poison that causes the same symptoms as Somjes. That's an ironic name, isn't it? I think it was probably this poison that was used.

Just in case I copied the poison and antidote descriptions and recipes in Suksho, I immediately headed to the familiar Coantro drug store. With antidote handling, that's the quickest thing you can do.

"Hello, Mr. Cornell, Mr. Laura!

It's bad for the two of us who were surprised we jumped into the store, but we don't have time, so I'll tell you what to do.

"I'm looking for an antidote to the poison! It's the alchemy poison thing called [The Price of Slut], do you keep it in this store!?

Alchemy poison, that's the word in the description of [The Price of Slut]. I'm not sure what it is. I think [Alchemy] skills are related by the name, but I think it is because [Pharmaceutical] skills did not allow me to test the poison.

"Um, Mr. Fist. What is alchemy poison?

Mr. Cornell will inquire with regret. No way is Alchemy Poison less well known!?

"Don't you know?

"Yeah, I've never heard that before. I've heard the name of alchemy... is it a special poison on that side?

The way Mr. Cornell says it now, he hasn't even learned [alchemy]? I thought Cornell's pharmacist would be able to acquire the skills that will be lifted when the level of production skills reaches 30.

"Is there anyone in Einfast who is a pharmacist and knows that?

"What do you think? I've never heard of an alchemist in Einfast."

If you think you can finally identify the poison, don't you have a solution for that... No, I do have a recipe. If there's no antidote, I'll have to make it.

"Then what about the material?

While checking the recipe, mention the missing ingredients.

"Hmmm... some of the stuff I don't have in our store, but I think you can probably contact the guild and we'll have it all"

"Really? I need you to hurry up as much as you can and get them aligned. as many as possible."

Then, I also order the items I have in my hand. There is also the possibility that the dispensation will fail. You should have more spares. Fortunately, I have money.

"Okay, I'll arrange it right away."

Mr. Cornell sees Mr. Laura. Nodding without saying anything, Mr. Laura left the store. He must have gone to inquire about the dispensing guild.

"But what happened? It's not mild with poison."

Mr. Cornell asks as he prepares what's in the store.

"I got into a little trouble at Dorad. There are people who have just been served poisonous things."

"That's what... But Mr. Fist, if there was material, can you make an antidote?

Words clog Mr. Cornell's inquiry. It's the antidote to poison that Mr. Cornell has never heard of. What can I do with my skill?

"Mr. Cornell, this recipe, do you understand?

Open the recipe image and show it to Mr. Cornell. Mr. Cornell glances at it.

"... Again, there's a procedure I'm not sure about... I can't help it"

And I answered unfortunately. You're going to have a higher level of [dispensing] than I do, Mr. Cornell. But no. There are other procedures such as magic penetration, specific ingredient extraction, and so on that do not know what to do. At least they are not in the art of [dispensing]. It seems impossible for me to do this.

"If it's Zvand or Drlard, do you have a pharmacist who can tell?

"What do you think... until what other city pharmacists are dealing with... I was wondering if it would be more certain to contact the city's guild"

That's right. In that case, I can only wait for the material to be ready now. For once, I'm also going to stop by Zvand's Pharmaceutical Guild before returning to Drlard to confirm...... no, would the sleigh have gotten any info? Before I left Dorad, I asked him if there were any rumors of a massive outbreak of sickness at a whorehouse on Night Hua Street. The use of such an effect poison means that you intend to exploit the situation. Then I'm sure you'll be spreading malicious rumors.

Open the Night Hua Street Information Slate, but there is no information I was expecting. On the contrary, he was being roughed up. Didn't you get enough words? Again, do you want me to put the res on?

Then let's also search for alchemy poison. I guess I'll ask the pharmacist player some questions as well.

The bulletin board did not provide any dizzying information. Unless it's a secret, there's going to be no one in the player who knows about alchemy poison. If anyone knew, I could have asked for a dispensation.

Those in the Night Hua Street Information Slate just oiled the fire. Those guys, they refuse to rough me up and try to believe what we're saying. Did you not put the details on your back? It would probably be counterproductive to add now. If you name it...... no, I'm also suspicious if you believe that. I had no choice but to do Mr. Cornell a favor. I don't think it's a good idea, but I can't help it.

I even stopped by Zvand's Pharmaceutical Guild to inquire, but no information or antidote on the alchemy poison. No pharmacist could understand the recipe. Dorad's only heard that there was once such a poisonous assassin. Is Alchemy Poison a 'back' bum?

In the end, all I got was the ingredients and recipes that I couldn't use on my own, a scattered result. I have no other idea at the moment, so I had no choice but to go back to [Gem Flowers].

Quinn was sitting in the lobby when he entered the hall.

"Good day, Quinn. There was nothing there?

I nodded when I asked. Well, as of now, it was unlikely we'd be on offensive measures.

I'm heading straight to Angela's room. The symptoms were the worst, so if Elka was there, it would be there.

but before that, Elka came out of the room with a bucket in her hand.

"Fist!? How'd it go!?

Look at me, throwing a bucket at me and rushing over.

"I could probably identify the poison. However, the antidote was not handled within the jurisdiction of the dispensing guild. I could get an antidote recipe, but I can't find a guy who can make it. I can't believe I'm telling you this. Sorry."

"... yes..."

Elka's dismay was enormous. but I immediately change my expression.

"But thanks for just identifying the cause. You can't even move on without knowing what's going on."

That's positive. On the other hand, I think this one cheered me up.

"For once, I'm not going to hit any other pharmacists or doctors. Tomorrow is the day you and I come back, isn't it? Your medical condition could get worse by then, and we'll do what we can."

I don't know if he can handle the alchemy poison. I haven't run out of things to do yet.

That's when Quinn's bark came from the lobby. Is anybody here? Or an intruder?

"Wait here. I'll see how it goes."

When I left Elka on the spot and went out to the lobby, there was a woman there who looked like a traveler.

I wonder if my age has been a little higher since my late twenties? Long, crimson hair with wavy hanging. Being beautiful, there was an atmosphere that seemed painful when I got my hands on the rough. Tall, with a matching cloak in front being lifted wide from the inside around the chest.

Quinn stayed away from where he had been sitting until earlier, distancing himself from the woman and setting himself up. Is that Quinn on guard? Doesn't look particularly strong, but is Quinn feeling something from that woman?

The woman's gaze turned from Quinn to this way. He's looking at me like he's supposed to.

"Intruder, that doesn't sound like it."

A slightly lower voice is spun. Slightly high-pressure voice tone. It's an unsolicited image, but you look good dressed like a female soldier or a female knight. Let me tell you something.

"By that I mean, are you an associate here?

Looks like he came in dignified from the front, so I guess so. No, maybe, but this woman...

"Officials, or managers. This is mine."

Words returned as expected. Oh, I knew it.

"Huh!?

I guess I got your voice earlier. At the same time I hear Elka's voice, patties and footsteps come close from the back.

"It's called Camilla. It's an honor to meet you, Lord Fist."

That's what the woman named Camilla said, deepening her grin.
