Wu Meilian seemed to hesitate as she spoke.

Luo Fei merely chuckled.

"Ms. Wu, I didn’t say that I’m arresting Shen Liufeng because of this case. It’s because Zhao Ligang’s death may be related to Shen Liufeng."

Luo Fei’s analysis made Wu Meilian’s heart skip a beat.

"Mr. Luo, are you serious?"

Wu Meilian patiently explained.

"Mr. Luo, you might not know. Because Ye Shanshan excelled at her job and was beautiful, Old Shen’s second secretary has always been jealous of her."

"So when Ye Shanshan had her mishap, this girl couldn’t have been happier."

But as Wu Meilian spoke, she noticed.

The others looked at her with somewhat odd expressions.

She hastened to explain.

"But Mr. Luo, all she did was post a video of Ye Shanshan on the bus in the work group chat, and secretly spread rumors about her being a mistress. She didn’t do much more than that; I wasn’t saying she’s definitely responsible for Ye Shanshan’s death."

"Plus, I’ve long been dissatisfied with that secretary."

Unlike Wu Meilian.

She didn’t mind Ye Shanshan being around her father.

Having grown accustomed to it.

What she really minded.

Was the second secretary’s hypocrisy, their two-faced nature.

Fawning and flattering in public, but only genuinely respectful to her father, no matter his actions.

Sensing their intent.

"Ms. Shen, I’m reassured by your confidence."
