Chapter 113: A Shadow of it’s True Might

Bite by bite, inch by inch....

Neo continued to devour the grotesque heart, and the more the Hydra did so. The mightier the power flowed through its Chimeric Body.

But also as a result, the innards of the Leviathan trembled nonstop.

A gargantuan weight of Will pressed down on Neo.

Countless parasitic Ravanger-rank creatures were on their way, but nothing could stop Neo. The Hydra’s superior racial status would not lose to a mere inanimate remnant Will, even if it were the Will of a Mythical-rank entity.

Well, technically speaking, that Remnant Will of the once mighty Flame salamander could not be categorised as a Mythical Will anymore.

As countless years had passed, it had mostly been fragmented and could barely be labelled as sentient any longer.

In fact, the Will of the passed Mythical entity was being pressed upon Neo, the largest fragment of it that remained, mostly assimilated by the Magma Leviathan.

The worst part for the remnant Will was that, within the Leviathan’s internal body, it could not express the Will’s true inconceivable might; as such, its body was merely treating the Nemesis Hydra as a parasite.

And due to the nature of its internal biology and constant influx of liquid hot magma, most parasites did not survive within, and those that did rather became the junk cleaners of its body’s biological wastes, meaning they opted to live as helpful parasites.

Forming a symbiotic relationship.

This method of internal operation for the Magma Leviathan had kept it living for probably thousands of years, so one could only imagine how long ago the tyrannical Mythical Salamander may have fallen from grace.

Eventually, when Neo reached into the centre of the deep throbbing heart, he witnessed the majestic shimmering orange core.

The system chimed into Neo’s mind.

[The object is an Ancient-rank Beast Core. Just one step below that of a Mythical]

[You must approach closer so that the system can store the object into storage space.]

However, Neo seemed to be in a trance, lost in the sight of an endless stream of the purest power the Hydra had ever witnessed in its short life. The orb at the centre of the Leviathan’s heart felt like a miniature sun.

And the feeling of power oozing out of it was far greater than the orb which was hanging atop the swirling whirlpool. Though that had been there as a trap by the Leviathan from the beginning.

The system continued to buzz with words on Neo’s mind.

But unlike the previous time, Neo was not being controlled or influenced because its mental bastion ability was fully active and had been further enhanced as a result of advancing to the Alpha rank.

[Warning!! The Bonded Beast must not directly touch the Ancient Rank Beast Core]

[Warning!! The Bonded Beast must not attempt to absorb the Ancient Rank Flame Core’s energy]

[Warning!! Any attempt to absorb the Beast Core will result in a likely 99% probability of the Beast’s death]

"Gurhhh!!! Gruhhh!!!"

The Hydra hissed in annoyance and then continued to ignore the warning words of the System. Slowly taking steps forward, approaching closer and closer.

For a moment, the creature hesitated. But in the end, a ruthless and determined expression appeared on three of its heads, and the heads all looked towards each other as if confirming their own choice.

Then, without hesitation, they bit into the pulsing orb.

The moment the Hydra’s three jagged maws touched the orb, an incinerating and overwhelming wave of heat source travelled through their throat to the Hydra’s stomach.

The system’s connection to Neo flickered madly, like a radio on a lost signal. Because the System was not truly connected to Neo, it just transmitted messages and could scan some things using Neo as an external node through the Taming bond shared between Neo and Kale.

The System hailed a last few strings of messages on Neo’s mind...

[Warning!! Warning!! Warning!!]

[Higher rank of energy is being forcefully injected through the veins of the Bonded Beast]

[Genetic Stability of the Nemesis Hydra is at risk]

[The Physique of the Alpha rank Nemesis Hydra is not suitable to handle the Ancient rank Beast force contained within the Core]

[Probability of the Nemesis Hydra’s self-destruction is 95.5%]

Neo didn’t give a damn about the statements of the suspicious mechanical voice that lived like a parasite on its master’s soul. Nor was the creature in its right mind to adhere to the words.

As blinding pain unlike anything else tore through its energy pathways, organs, muscles, and tissues.

Just like the system had stated, the Nemesis Hydra’s body was not strong enough to handle the mighty force coursing through its veins.

The core flame essence travelled into Neo’s body, but there was also something else that entered its body.

The true remnant Will of the fallen Mythical-ranked Flame Salamander was residing within that core because that was the only and purest fragment of the original mighty Salamander left in this entire Beast Tomb.

The only Sentient fragment of the remnant Mythical Will, upon entering Kale’s body through the stream of Flame Essence, instantly pierced right through the Hydra’s mental barrier with ease.

Entering the Mind Space of the Nemesis Hydra.

The Remnant Mythical Will was in the shape of its Original visage of a Flaming Salamander, albeit much smaller in size; there were red, uneven patterns on its glowing orange body.

It was blazing with pulsing flame, which made the lizard-like creature look blinding. In its divine radiance, it could burn down the mountains to liquid with ease.

However, the tyrannical Flame Salamander realised something amiss in that mental space. That spot which should be bright and unique, maybe even filled with life, was as dark as the abyss. Only its flickering figure felt like the sole source of radiance in that endless expanse of blackness.

The creature looked around in confusion and anger at not being able to sense the consciousness of the creature whose body the Salamander Will had entered.

Because without killing it, the Remnant Salamander’s Will could not possess the body properly.

In that instant, suddenly out of nowhere, the sound of destructive lightning flickered high above.

A momentary blinding flash was generated, which was powerful enough to light up a greater part of the black expanse of the Hydra’s mind.

In that moment of flash, the Salamander’s Will saw something that the creature never thought possible.

As the flaming creature’s neck arched high up to almost 90 degrees, it saw the titanic shadow of something beyond all monstrosity.

A creature so large in its magnitude that the Mythical Will looked like an Ant staring towards the peak of the Mountain.

Seven gargantuan Draconic Heads covered in dark scales stared down coldly at the Salamander’s Will with their threatening, yellow, narrow slit-like pupils shimmering in predatory grace.

All seven long Draconic heads connected to the base, from where two heaven-encompassing wings opened wide. Each of its four limbs that kept the creature standing was like the pillars of mountains on its own right, enough to cause tremors to spread across the earth.

As if the very mountains were moving.

Terror gripped the Remnant Will of the Mythic Flame Salamander; the first time since its death, it experienced fear once more.

No... the Will was 100% sure that even in death it never felt so tiny; it had never felt such deep fear.

However, when that flash of terrifying lightning vanished, which cast the shadow upon the monstrous seven-headed Hydra, the Remnant Will started to feel like it had seen wrong.

As if desperate to prove that point, the abstract creature gathered all of its power, coalescing it into a tiny sphere, and then from its mouth, the Mythic Salamander let out a blinding Flame breath manifested from the purest of Fiery essence.

As the Arc of Flame shot high, that radiance once more shed light upon the calamitous 7-headed Beast that remained standing in its previous position.

That previous haunting dread gripped the Mythic Will once more, this time perhaps in more grave intensity as the abstract creature could not help but gaze into the yellow abominal eyes of the Titan.

Before that strongest Flame attack of the Salamander’s Will could even reach one of the seven heads of the Hydra, the jaws of all seven heads opened wide, filled with rows of sharp, jagged teeth; from the throats of all seven, glowing red power rose.

From all seven heads, in a disturbing, almost world-tearing sound, seven catatonic waves of destructive red flames shot out, all targeting the insignificant Mythic Will.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

In a sundering echo of irrefutable destructive might which no Mortal mind could hope to comprehend, that mental space was brought on the verge of collapse, and because in that moment when the Mythic Will invaded the Mind Space of Neo.

In that event, the overwhelming wave of the purest Flame essence from the Beast Core existing within the Heart of the Magma Leviathan was also poured into the ethereal mind space of Neo.

Giving shape to a mere shadow of what truly could be achieved by the Nemesis Hydra, if only a part of its potential is materialised.

And due to the Hydra’s bloodline superiority being even beyond the Dragons, the Nemesis Hydra in that moment was able to utterly overwhelm the Mythic Will, enough to obliterate it in a single attack, for the first time the creature displaying its sheer destructive might that was just as tall as its inherent endless stream of arrogance.
