She smiled faintly. "But if it does match then what you’re feeling isn’t dissatisfaction toward my arrogance."

She paused briefly. "It’s jealousy."

After saying those words, she simply turned around and walked away.

Mason immediately pointed at her retreating figure. "You, how dare you..."

However, Lana merely waved her hand without even turning around. Seeing this, Shelly hurriedly bowed respectfully toward Mason.

"I would be honored to become your disciple."

Unlike Lana, Shelly knew exactly how valuable this opportunity was.

Mason wasn’t merely a coach.

He possessed an extensive network connecting numerous international mystical cultivation competitions, even those held after university.

As long as she remained under his guidance, she would continuously gain opportunities to participate in higher-level competitions.

Those experiences alone would allow her cultivation to improve far more rapidly than ordinary cultivators.

Mason finally nodded. "You have some sense."

He snorted lightly. "Unlike that stupid girl."

Shelly simply smiled politely. She didn’t agree with him.

Instead, she had already noticed something. Although Mason constantly complained about Lana, the hostility he once held toward her had almost completely disappeared.

If anything, it now felt more like an old man’s helpless frustration toward an unusually talented junior.

After finishing their conversation, Shelly quickly caught up to Lana, who had been patiently waiting for her outside.

The two girls continued walking side by side. After remaining silent for a while, Shelly finally looked toward Lana.

"Why did you do that?"

Lana blinked. "Do what?"

Shelly sighed softly. "I know you."

She smiled helplessly.

"You’re an incredibly level-headed person. You would never deliberately put on such an arrogant front without a reason."

She looked curiously into Lana’s eyes. "There has to be some reason behind it. Right?"

Lana chuckled. "Well, there is a reason."

A mysterious smile appeared on her face. "But you won’t know it for now."

Shelly could only sigh. "Fine."

She smiled warmly before continuing,

"Regardless, I’ll support you. I truly hope that when you represent our nation in the International Mystical Cultivation Competition, you’ll finish within the top three."

Her eyes sparkled with genuine expectation.

"That would be an incredible achievement. Not just for you, but for our entire country."

Lana couldn’t help but laugh. "My goodness."

She looked at Shelly with an amused expression.

"You don’t even have the dignity of a rival anymore. You should at least taunt me a little or throw out some sarcastic remarks."

Shelly waved her hand dismissively. "We’re long past that stage."

She smiled. "I’ve already done enough of that."

The two girls burst into laughter as they continued chatting.

Just then, several men dressed in neat black suits approached them.

Every one of them carried a professional demeanor. One of them respectfully stepped forward before speaking politely.

"Hello, Miss Lana. Our boss would like to invite you over for a conversation."

"If you refuse to come with us, then we’ll have no choice but to file a lawsuit against you."

Lana paused. She slowly lowered her gaze toward the steaming hotpot sitting in front of her.

She still held her chopsticks in her hand, yet she no longer had the mood to take another bite.

Letting out a quiet sigh, she thought, ’Sometimes people truly don’t even give me enough time to enjoy a peaceful meal.’

Her expression remained calm as she looked at the suited men. "I’m eating my hotpot. We can talk later. For now, leave."

The bodyguards exchanged helpless glances. One of them stepped forward again.

"Miss Lana." His tone remained respectful. "If you refuse to come now, we’ll have no choice but to proceed with legal action."

Lana remained silent for a few seconds. Finally, she slowly stood up. "Fine."

She stretched her shoulders before casually adding, "But your boss had better compensate me with one million dollars."

She glanced regretfully at the untouched food. "I had to give up such a wonderful meal because of him."

Behind her, Shelly immediately stood up as well. She hurried after Lana. "Who are these people?"

Lana waved her hand dismissively. "You stay here. I’ll deal with them myself."

Shelly immediately shook her head. "How can I possibly leave you alone? Tell me honestly. Are you in danger? Should I call your uncle?"

Lana couldn’t help but laugh. "You’re worrying over nothing. He’ll only end up worrying for no reason too."

She casually cracked her knuckles. "I’ll deal with whoever this guy is."

A playful smile appeared on her lips. "If someone dares to start any nonsense, I’ll punch them so hard they’ll regret crossing paths with me for the rest of their lives."

Hearing that, Shelly couldn’t help but laugh despite her lingering concern. Even so, she still couldn’t bring herself to simply let Lana leave alone.

As a precaution, she secretly sent Axel a message containing the license plate number of the car Lana entered.

She even instructed him to quietly follow the vehicle from a distance.

After all, she couldn’t bear the thought of anything happening to Lana.

Meanwhile, once Lana stepped inside the luxurious black car, she immediately noticed the person sitting across from her.

The boss. Or rather, a remarkably handsome young man.

His skin was so fair and flawless that even Lana briefly felt as though her own complexion looked ordinary beside his.

His deep brown eyes carried a calm yet calculating gaze.

Dark eyebrows perfectly framed his sharp features, while his straight nose and well-defined jawline gave him an exceptionally refined appearance.

If there were anyone capable of rivaling his looks, then it would undoubtedly be Lucian. The comparison subconsciously appeared in Lana’s mind.

Pushing those thoughts aside, she calmly looked toward the young man. The man politely extended his hand. "Hello. I’m Trent."

Lana merely nodded. She made no attempt to shake his hand. "Yes. Trent. What can I do for you?"

Seeing that his greeting had been politely ignored, Trent simply smiled and withdrew his hand without showing the slightest trace of embarrassment.

"Well, I watched your livestream. I saw how you promoted that old man’s restaurant."
