Chapter 686 - 485: Divine Spirit Blood and a Catastrophe Level "Heart
The claw marks left by the Giant Dragon were still seared into the mountainside, silently telling the tale of that earth-shattering final battle.
Raylo took one last look at this desolate battlefield.
His gaze swept over the scar left by the sword, and his understanding of "Power" was completely overturned and reshaped.
Tier Seven World Destruction Level.
’So that’s the kind of power that can truly shake the world.’
He turned around, no longer lingering on the scene.
"Coal Ball, we’re going back."
Raylo said.
Coal Ball, who had been following quietly behind him, raised its head at his words.
In its eyes, it was as if rivers of stars were flowing. Then, its small paw swiped gently in front of it.
The space before them, like a curtain sliced by a sharp blade, silently split open to reveal a pitch-black fissure.
When they had entered this world, Coal Ball had swallowed the spatial rift leading to Black Stone Territory. Now that they were returning, it was releasing it.
"Let’s go. We’re going home."
Raylo took the lead and stepped into the spatial rift.
Mage Delin and Mage Wendel followed close behind, tightly gripping the Crystal Bottles containing samples of Divine Blood and Dragon Blood.
After everyone had passed through the spatial rift, the mountaintop once again returned to its ancient, deathly silence.
...
Stepping through the spatial rift, a warm and gentle ray of sunlight shone on Raylo’s face.
What he smelled was no longer the cold, thin air of the Doomsday World, but the unique fragrance of Black Stone Territory—a mixture of grass and earth.
Familiar noises reached his ears.
The shouts of Knights training in the distance, the clanging of hammers from the blacksmith’s shop, and the fluttering of castle banners in the wind.
They were back.
It was noon.
The sun was brilliant.
"We’ll go to the Alchemy Workshop first."
Raylo said succinctly.
The group didn’t stop, heading straight for the magnificent Alchemy Workshop in the square.
Inside the workshop, a few Magic Apprentices were cleaning up. When they saw Raylo and the others enter, they scrambled to bow.
Raylo paid no mind to the formalities and waved his hand, dismissing the apprentices to continue their work.
He walked to the widest open area in the center of the workshop and said to Coal Ball beside him,
"Take out everything we brought back."
Coal Ball nodded its little head. Its body flickered, and a deep spatial vortex formed in front of it.
The next moment.
WHOOOOSH!
Like a bursting dam, countless Magic Scriptures poured out from the spatial vortex!
Sheepskin Scrolls, Stone Slabs, Metal Books, Crystal Books...
Books of all materials and forms mixed together, covered in the dust of ages, forming a spectacular waterfall.
They fell and piled up endlessly.
Soon, in the open space at the center of the workshop, a small mountain made of books rose up!
The mountain of books was so huge that the apprentices in the workshop stood frozen on the spot.
’In my opinion, the value of these scriptures, emptied from the Heart of Arcane’s Magic Tower, might even surpass that of the few drops of Divine Blood.’
’While the Divine Blood certainly has immense research value, this knowledge could elevate the entire Black Stone Territory’s level of magic to a whole new height.’
’This is the true foundation for the territory’s development.’
"Master Barnaby."
Raylo said.
"Present!"
Master Barnaby answered from nearby.
Raylo pointed at the mountain of books before them and said,
"Master, I need you to take all the apprentices and sort all of these scriptures by category."
"Organize and catalog all the books by category, assess their value and learning difficulty, and establish a new library."
"Yes, my Lord!"
Master Barnaby accepted the task.
Master Barnaby had always been passionate about matters of magic research.
As if injected with a shot of pure energy, he called to the apprentices and began to tackle the immense project.
Raylo’s gaze shifted from the mountain of books and fell upon Mage Delin.
Mage Delin was still holding the Crystal Bottles with the Divine Blood and Dragon Blood. In the workshop’s light, the blood in one bottle shimmered with a golden glow, while the other emitted an eerie, ice-blue light.
"Mage Delin."
Raylo began.
"My Lord."
Mage Delin stepped forward.
"Regarding this..."
Raylo gestured to the Crystal Bottles.
"What are your thoughts?"
"I have some."
Mage Delin nodded and held up a Crystal Bottle.
"The blood of a Divine Spirit... the fragments of Law and energy structures it contains are a Domain we have never encountered before."
He paused before continuing.
"Studying it directly is too risky and highly inefficient. I think we can use that thing behind the door."
"Phillips’s Furnace of All Things?"
Raylo instantly understood what he meant.
"Exactly."
Mage Delin’s eyes gleamed.
"The Furnace of All Things is the culmination of Master Phillips’s life’s work, said to be capable of analyzing all things. But to activate it, we must first solve the alchemy puzzle on the final door."
"If we can start the furnace and place the Divine Blood and Dragon Blood inside for analysis, we might be able to glimpse the essence of Tier Seven Power,"
Mage Wendel added from the side, his tone filled with excitement and exhilaration.
For two Legendary Mages like them, who already stood at the peak of the Catastrophe Level, few things could pique their interest. The two types of World Destruction Level blood—Divine and Dragon—brought back from the Heart of Arcane world were rare exceptions.
Raylo looked at the two mages.
"Then that’s what we’ll do."
He made his decision.
"If you need anything, just ask. Our most important task right now is to focus all our efforts on getting through that door."
Raylo turned his gaze to Coal Ball.
"Coal Ball, leave the spatial rift here so they can conveniently enter and exit the Heart of Arcane at any time."
Coal Ball flicked its black tail, and its small paw swiped gently against the nearby wall.
A pitch-black spatial rift appeared instantly, hovering there stably like a black hole embedded in the wall.
With the arrangements made, Raylo turned and walked out of the workshop.
"Mage Delin, I’ll leave those blood samples in your care."
"Rest assured, my Lord."
Mage Delin carefully put the Crystal Bottles away.
Raylo walked out of the Alchemy Workshop. The warm sunlight shone down, blanketing him in its pleasant heat.
He stretched lazily, and his joints let out a series of soft pops.
At some point, Moonlight had appeared and was now rubbing its head against his leg.
Raylo looked down and saw Moonlight’s pale golden eyes.
Immediately after, Coal Ball and Lightning also gathered around him.
"Are you all hungry?"
Raylo asked with a smile.
"Come on, back to my rooms."
Raylo started walking.
The three large, multicolored cats followed behind him with an elegant gait, crossing the square toward the Lord’s Mansion.
Back in his familiar study, Raylo sat down in the main chair.
He knocked on the desk, and a Personal Guard from outside the door immediately entered.
"My Lord."
"Prepare some food."
Raylo ordered.
"Send one portion to the Alchemy Workshop for the masters. Bring another portion here."
He pointed to the cats lying by his feet.
"And for these little ones, remember to double their portions."
"Yes, my Lord."
The Personal Guard accepted the order and withdrew.
Before long, Ed pushed the door open and entered.
"My Lord, you’ve returned."
Ed bowed.
"Mm."
Raylo nodded.
"Sit."
Ed sat in a subordinate’s chair, his back ramrod straight.
"I have two matters to report."
Ed’s tone was as concise as ever.
"First, we have news regarding the list you left behind."
"Oh?"
Raylo put down his cup of water.
"We found the corpse of the ’Hellhound’ you mentioned on your list at the border of the Black Stone Mountain Range and the Jade Swamp."
Ed said.
"The corpse is relatively intact. As per your instructions, it was transported back while frozen and is currently stored in the underground ice cellar."
The Hellhound was a rare Abyssal Creature. Its blood and bones were key ingredients for concocting certain High-Level Magic Potions and for researching Dark Magic.
"Very good."
Raylo nodded.
"The second matter is more urgent."
"Speak."
"The White Siblings have returned."
Ed said.
Raylo raised an eyebrow.
The White Siblings were in charge of Seagull Port. The recent spatial anomaly had yielded a great deal of intelligence, so Raylo had tasked them with searching the western Black Stone Mountain Range for a location mentioned in the reports.
"They found the... ’heart’ of that Catastrophe Level creature."
