"Leader, another boat!" Lu Jiamei said at once. "Still in the same position!"

Ren Yuanyang was taken aback. "Another boat?"

Lu Jiamei nodded. "Should we get a bit closer?"

Ren Yuanyang shook his head decisively. "Let’s get the goods to the base first!"

"Yes, Leader!" Lu Jiamei directed Qin Haonan to head to the other side. Once she confirmed no other speedboats were in the area, they charged directly into the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region.

Over an hour later, Ren Yuanyang and his group finally arrived at Peach Blossom Base.

Seeing Ren Yuanyang and his group return safely, Hua Lingfang finally breathed a sigh of relief. Ren Yuanyang was the pillar of Peach Blossom Base. Nothing could be allowed to happen to him.

"Elder Hua, expand the farm a bit. We need to settle the livestock we just traded for. We might have to go out again!" Ren Yuanyang instructed.

Hua Lingfang was stunned. "You’re going out again? But you just got back!"

"We spotted speedboats loitering in the area on our way out and on our way back. We need to check out what’s going on," Lu Jiamei explained.

Hua Lingfang nodded. "Do you want me to arrange for more people to go with you?"

Ren Yuanyang considered for a moment before replying, "Have Jin Ziyu and Jianghu come along."

"Got it!" Lu Jiamei immediately went to find Jianghu.

Soon, the goods were unloaded from the speedboat, and the livestock were herded off as well.

Lu Jiamei returned with Jin Ziyu and Jianghu.

"Leader, you called for us? Is there a mission?" Jianghu asked curiously.

Jin Ziyu had no time for questions and was busy eating instead.

"We’re going out to investigate what’s happening in the area. There might be a fight," Ren Yuanyang replied. He then had Qin Haonan start the speedboat and head out again.

Ren Yuanyang’s group cautiously navigated out of the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region. They continued forward for some distance before changing course, heading for the location where they had spotted the speedboat earlier.

The speedboat, which was towing a smaller boat, was the very one the Mutant Yu Ren had stolen from the Xi’an Base team.

Just then, they ran into the team from Xi’an Base that was searching for Peach Blossom Base.

As the speedboat drew closer, Yu Ren frowned and glanced at his Evolver captive.

The Evolver immediately waved his hands. "Sir, this has nothing to do with me! I’ve already handed over my phone. I have no way of contacting the outside world!"

"Then how did they find us? Do you have a tracker on you?" Yu Ren demanded, his face grim.

"I really don’t know how they found us, but I can guarantee I don’t have any tracking devices on me!" the Evolver immediately retorted.

Yu Ren’s eyes narrowed. "In that case, you go out and ask them," he commanded. "Don’t try any funny business, or you’ll die a horrible death!"

The Evolver froze for a second, then replied with a pained expression, "How am I supposed to ask? I’ve been out of contact for so long. If I go out now, they’ll probably just arrest me on the spot!"

"Then let them come and get you!" This was exactly what Yu Ren wanted.

Resigned, the Evolver could only nod and walk out onto the deck.

By now, the speedboat behind them had almost caught up.

The Evolver had no choice but to shout, "Which squad is that approaching?"

Seeing the Evolver on deck, the pursuing speedboat immediately responded, "We’re the Ninth Squad! You must be Evolver Wu Jin from the Third Squad, right?"

The Evolver nodded.

"Weren’t you guys reported missing yesterday? What’s the status of the Third Squad?" the other party asked, simultaneously reporting the situation up the chain of command.

"Don’t get me started. We ran into a Mutant over these specimens, and he destroyed all our phones! Without map guidance, we couldn’t even figure out which way was home!" Wu Jin began to spin a tale. "Thank goodness we ran into you. Were you sent to find us?"

"So that’s what happened. We weren’t sent to find you. Our mission is to find Peach Blossom Base!" the other side replied. "We’ve already reported your situation. We’ll see what the base decides."

"Thank you so much!" Wu Jin said gratefully.

Upon receiving the news, Bao Mu began questioning Wu Jin directly through the Ninth Squad’s comms.

"What kind of Mutant did you encounter?"

Wu Jin continued his fabrication. "The Mutant was twice the size of a normal person and incredibly strong. It was covered in scales so tough that even bullets couldn’t pierce its defense. The others sacrificed themselves to buy me an opening, and I only managed to kill it by using my Gold-Type Superpower!"

As he was spinning his tale, Yu Ren had already slipped off the speedboat and into the water unnoticed.

"Did you keep the Mutant’s body?" Bao Mu pressed.

"Of course I did!" Wu Jin could only force himself to say. ’It was such a unique specimen; it wouldn’t make sense to say I’d just thrown the body away!’

"Take a picture and send it to me," Bao Mu ordered the Ninth Squad.

The Ninth Squad’s speedboat pulled alongside. Wu Jin grew anxious, his mind racing for a way to get out of this.

The members of the Ninth Squad were all intensely curious. They crowded onto the deck, eager to catch a glimpse of the Mutant’s corpse.

"Go ahead and bring out the Mutant’s body!" the Ninth Squad’s captain urged.

Wu Jin nodded. Just as he was about to turn back, he suddenly saw that Yu Ren had appeared on the other speedboat.

The dagger in Yu Ren’s hand was a blur, leaving afterimages in the air. In just two or three seconds, he had wiped out the entire Ninth Squad on deck!
